True gambling is like any other activities that is learn and should not be spiritualized because gambling is by choice I can decide not to gamble it's all a personal decision so I think that it's purely out of ignorance that people will view gambling as spiritual

My neighbour just told me of a boy who has been addicted to drugs. The mother is claiming that his addiction is caused by the father who she claimed is a cultist or spiritualist. Instead of taking her son to a psychiatrist to seek professional help, she believes the problem is spiritual. This might also be the same belief most people have about a gambling disorder.  I  agree with most contributors to this discussion that gambling has little or nothing to do with spirituality. People should seek help if they can't control their gambling activities.

Once a gambler has fallen into addiction, it is difficult for them to have a good sense of understanding to know that they need help to escape from that level of addiction, and in this situation only those who are close to such person can help him by taking him to a psychiatrist to examine his state of addiction and how they can help him regain his sense of consciousness. The reason why i can agree that there are some kinds of spirituality that makes a gambler to fall into addiction is in a case whereby the father of the gambler was once a gambling addict, and his son have to inherit that trait from his father so in such situation, they can sort for a spiritual help.

I've heard this thousands of times from people who say a spirit or some kind of entity, a saint, has cured their hernias, and so it seems impressive to me, I believe in healing, but not to the point where I do anything Sometimes fanaticism leads to believing in things that make no sense whatsoever.

The psychologists try to imitate or take advantage of the natural treatments (although modified) which are freely given to men but limited in powers.  Gambling addiction is primarily a mental health problem, can not be a spiritual one.
It sounds like addiction to say that gambling is a spiritual problem (religion addiction) where common sense is no longer put to use.  Just like other addictive circumstances, gambling starts one day and over infatuating or fantasy is the bait towards gambling addiction. Instead of strategic fun engagement, fancy thought of winning $20k with just $50 would take over the mind. And ooh it's just one that cut the slip will be the case and before you know it borrowing to place gamble would become the order of the day. This is not in any way saying that spiritual intervention does not exist.
If gambling is a spiritual problem then the person gave room to it of which after all amounts of prayer, advice would be given, like disengage from your gambling friends and all that... Which is already a psychological response.....

Gambling addiction is not spiritual and can never be. It is a habit one leant.someones habit cannot be spiritual.if you have the habit of eating late in the night will you call that spiritual too? Well I do not think many people even think gambling can become an addiction. When people become gambling addicts, they don’t realize that is just as bad as being a drug addict or an alcoholic. It’s truly sad to see people with addictions.

Sometimes don’t realize they really have a disease that affects them financially, mentally, and physically. It is truly sad to see people that have to battle every day with addiction. What causes addiction in gambling is the mindset you started it with, if you start gambling with the mindset that you will use gambling to escape poverty then you will surely become addicted and when you become addicted you will start selling your properties, but if you start gambling with the mindset of using it as a fun activity and you use only your Discretionary income to gamble you won't be addicted.

In my home town some people that are addicted to gambling is not ordinary is spiritual, in my home town we have a lot of people using black magic so if they see you will become successful in the future because of jealousy they cast a spell on you that will make you love gambling and you will be playing it always and selling anything you see just to gamble, if your family knows about black magic they will cast there own spell in other to remove that other spell on you and then free you and you will stop gambling I have seen it many times.

Some people always get this wrong, not everything is relating to a spiritual issue especially gambling, it's more relating to a mental issue than something spiritual for instance you shouldn't be referring an addicted gambler to the church or spiritual home for prayers, rather such cases should be handled by a mental health practitioner, psychologist or the rightful professionals to handle the situation, your spiritual leader or teacher is just a religious leader meant to handle spiritual cases and not the right one to handle such cases, I don't know about other societies but I've seen people in my region make such errors and it needs to be addressed.

Gambling is not a spiritual matter or a related matter but a completely psychological and addictive matter. Gambling can never guide people in the right direction. Its consequences are very terrible. Because gambling is such a matter, its future is very unclear. There is no opportunity to apply knowledge like trading here. So one should refrain from gambling or avoid gambling, otherwise gambling will put people on the path.
