Your keys, your coins, your privacy.

After months of building (and years of frustration with frozen funds and passport selfies), we’re thrilled to introduce Splash, an instant exchange that puts privacy back where it belongs: in your hands.

> Why another instant exchange

Because most of them forgot what Bitcoin was born for.

  • No KYC Ever - We never ask for IDs, selfies, or utility bills. Your swap stays between you and the blockchain. No more AML/KYC terrorism
  • No Account Freezes - No surprise "compliance reviews", no frozen coins.
  • Self-Hosted Liquidity - Every swap is filled from our own reserves, never routed through third-party exchanges.
  • Private Full Nodes - All supported blockchains run on dedicated nodes we operate, never third-party RPC endpoints or cloud relays.
  • Instant Quotes - Our matching engine prices and settles directly against in-house liquidity.
  • Transparent Fees - A single flat rate shown before you hit "Exchange".

We log nothing beyond what’s required to execute the transaction: no cookies, no trackers, no analytics pixels.

> Assets at launch

  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Monero (XMR)
  • Dai (DAI)

If we ever fail to complete your exchange and you can prove it, we have an on-forum escrow that will refund you.

Beautiful website.

I don't like where the swap output shows up, though. You're writing the amount you want to send in one place and the output is at the very corner of the website. I would either put it below the "get started" block or maybe on the right corner.

Great site. I like the very anonymous design look of the sit.
I hope the site support more coins in the future. And last longer time, most exchanges with the same design (instant exchange) does not last due to abuse and government intervention.

Interesting OP. Glad to see another privacy oriented instant exchange here.  Cheesy

Any chance you could reach out to orangefren.com and ask to get listed and aim to be OF guaranteed as well? since it's a new service and some folks may be hesitant, this could give some confidence for them to try your exchange. Dropping their ANN thread, too: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5409616.0

Maybe an optional way to disable the static animation as well? as some folks may not be a fan of it.

Will def keep an eye on this exchange. Good luck!

There are many positive things in your instant exchange, but I noticed that apart from Native SegWit addresses, your platform doesn't seem to support other address formats [you might want to reconsider this part].
- FWIW, I got a little headache when I stared at those grey horizontal lines (I think a light mode could help with that issue).

Interesting, simple design, but I would define the exchange form a little more clearly. At least the part where the parameters are entered.
Also, the notification, separately in the lower left corner, is a bit unnoticeable, especially when there are these moving sliders.
Best of luck, I hope your liquidity pool will increase soon.  Wink

Why there is no onion link for your exchange? And why are you using this weird .tf domain?

I see there is clear inspiration with eXch, but it's not going to be easy to gain trust from people.
24 Volume is showing zero for all coins, that probably means you recently created it.

Yes we will consider supporting other address formats. Thanks for the feedback on the UI! We will take all the feedback gathered here and update it  Smiley

onion is coming soon! Ideally we'd use .com, but it is registered. We're using this domain until we find a better one  Smiley

Yes, we just launched and not a single brave soul has tried it yet , we're still waiting Grin

For a completely privacy leaning service, clearnet should be the last option. In fact, it should just be for information/tutorials while the actual exchanging is done over Tor mirrors (You can borrow a leaf from robosats - https://learn.robosats.org)

Also, you might want to have a few more numbers of mirrors because once you get popular, trust me, you are going to get bombarded to DDos attacks.

Yeah we are aware of the DDoS attacks. We've been watching other exchanges experiencing them. We'll be launching the tor mirrors + no JS website very soon. We just launched the clearnet version first to be more accessible for users.

Thanks for the feedback!

Welcome to the forum!
Like several other users, I am also hoping to see the Tor version of your exchange.

I think you should mention the fees in your OP. They are the same as eXch used to have.
I have noticed several instant exchanges calling themselves and their services as non-custodial. You have the same claim in your OP. So I have to ask: how is the swap process non-custodial? If I begin a swap and you give me a BTC address to deposit my bitcoin to, do I have the keys to this address? If you refuse my exchange, the website crashes, or something else happens, how do I get my coins out without your help? Your TOS mentions transmitting private keys to customers. Can you tell us a bit more about that?

I am reading your T&Cs.
You apply higher service fees for amounts exceeding certain amounts. For instance, >"1 BTC - 0.5%, >2 BTC - 1%". Why is that? Shouldn't users be awarded with lower fees for swapping bigger sums instead of paying more?

Thank you for the welcome!

Addressing your questions:

1. "Non-custodial" - This term is used as a contrast to the process of regular CEX exchanges where users deposit their funds into a custodial wallet owned by the exchange, perform the swap in the exchange, and have the output currency in a wallet owned by the exchange, before they're able to withdraw into their own wallet (if they even do that).

2. "If you refuse my exchange, the website crashes, or something else happens, how do I get my coins out without your help?" - You're correct in that you'll have to trust us for a few minutes when we process and perform the exchange. We acknowledge this and we are ready to earn users' trust with time.

3. "Transmitting private keys to customers" - Currently this is only when we refund DAI -> X exchanges. If for some reason we are unable to perform the requested DAI -> X exchange, we would just transmit the private key of the receiving DAI address to the user (To simplify the process, so we would not have to 1. ask users for their refund address 2. send eth to the receiving address and 3. send the DAI to the refund address).

Also thank you for the feedback. Tor is coming soon  Smiley

Yeah, and that is what makes it centralized and custodial, just like other instant exchanges, the moment funds are deposited into the deposit address you provide, you have custody of the coins. I don't have a problem with instant exchanges, in fact, i believe we need more of them that are legitimate and privacy oriented, but it is good to set the records straight that they are centralized and custodial, so newbies know this before going ahead to use them. Welcome and Good Luck.

What you explained is the workings of a custodial service. The deposit addresses your users deposit to are under your control. You own the keys to them. It's exactly the same as with other instant exchanges. For instance, eXch, which was very popular on Bitcointalk. After reading your T&Cs and the mention of sending customers private keys, I thought that was the case with all swaps, but as you explained below, it isn't. Exchange owners seem reluctant to call their service custodial. You shouldn't be if your intentions are good. Your service isn't trustless and it's custodial but you can build a brand here if you do it right. There is a market to fill. I wouldn't give custody any importance in your OP. Most of us here know how instant exchanges work and someone could see it as annoying when claims are made that aren't correct.

Got it, thanks. But why only for DAI and not also for ETH or all cryptos for that matter?

Yeah, and that is what makes it centralized and custodial, just like other instant exchanges, the moment funds are deposited into the deposit address you provide, you have custody of the coins. I don't have a problem with instant exchanges, in fact, i believe we need more of them that are legitimate and privacy oriented, but it is good to set the records straight that they are centralized and custodial, so newbies know this before going ahead to use them. Welcome and Good Luck.

"Custodial"
Seems the consensus here is we should remove the term "non-custodial". We'll take the feedback into account  Smiley

But why only for DAI and not also for ETH or all cryptos for that matter?
For native coins we just refund it straight to the user's specified refund address.

the terminal design you are going for is nice and all, but the swap field is trash in all honesty, took me a bit to find it. you should change it to make it more obvious.

i agree with @Pmalek here.

calling your service "Non-custodial" is dishonest and misleading. to put it simply... if i'm sending my coins to an address i don't control for a swap, it's custodial no matter how you try to spin it. i suggest you drop the "Non-custodial" nonsense.
your service is aimed at people who care about their privacy and know better than that, so making false claims like this will do more harm than good for your brand.

edit: i tried to use the website with javascript disabled, but that seems to break it, if you could make the website javascript free, that would be great.
