We can start by saying that AVS is having a terrible start to the championship, with zero wins and seven losses in eight games. The team is not the best, but I also think such a poor performance was not expected.
Looking at Estoril, they will also be a little below normal, with just one win and three draws.
Alverca, a brand new team that has just reached the first division, is performing well, currently in 9th place, ahead of Nacional, a historic team.
Braga, on the other hand, is also not having a good start to the season, only managing 2 victories.
The main teams, Porto, Sporting and Benfica, are naturally at the top, with 4 points separating first and third place.
The team that has been suppressed so far is Gil Vicente, in 4th place, with only two defeats (which were against the big teams).

We'll see what happens after the break for international matches.

I think I might have to vouch for FC Porto to win the league this season, they are have been very good this season, still yet to lose a match, even though they were held to a goalless draw by Benfica before the international break. I knew Jose morihno will make that game very difficult for them and he did. It was a very interesting game to watch, I enjoyed it, both teams could have easily won that game but it ended in a draw.


This is how I like my league to be, very competitive and unpredictable, so far you can hardly say who is going to win the league as all 3 big teams are giving everything every week to be in the title race. I really can’t wait for the international break to be over.

I don’t think there are much surprises in the Portuguese league, most times the big team always come out on top when they play the low teams. The like is very interesting as you said, and i won’t lie it one of the most place I often make money when I gamble. I have preview the games after the international break and I can say for sure that I will make profit.

Well as for me I still think it the big 3 that will still finish in the top 3, but who is going to win the league is something I’m not sure about. Porto, Benfica and sporting will be my teams to finish in top 3 spot.

I disagree, the championship is very predictable. What's surprising is knowing the order of the top three teams at the top of the table. As has been discussed here, the championship is always dominated by the same teams. There will always be Benfica, Porto, and Sporting. So, there are no surprises.

At a scale of one to ten I agree that the Portuguese league is gambling friendly.because even though there are times that the top four teams drop points teams like Porto, Benfica, sporting Lisbon and braga.this Season so far these top  teams have been so impressive and the title race is good this helps to increase the quality of the league because there's completion.

I expect that Portuguese teams that are playing in Europe should translate this form to Europe. Because in the past two seasons teams From the Portuguese league has not been doing well in Europe.

In the past, they would have been higher than that. Look at the last 5 games; they haven't won at least one game. In the last 5 games, they've had 3 draws and 2 losses. This isn't a consistent performance; on the contrary, it's a very inconsistent performance. I highly doubt they'll recover, and betting on them is like asking to lose money. I don't think anyone should risk betting on them. As for Benfica, they're not reliable.

Sometimes even the slightly better-known clubs can throw the curveball. Benfica faces Chaves today .I took a look at their H2H  history and found that Chaves managed to defeat Benfica back in 2023 when they played at home in Liga. Considering that Benfica hasn't been performing as expected in recent matches, an upset could happen again today. I’ll probably refrain from betting on the outcome of this match.

Benfica have quite an impressive trophy history in the Liga Portugal in fact. They are at top with 38 trophies while Porto have 30 and Sporting have 21.

But Benfica have been able to become champions only once in 2020s. Sporting got a back-to-back title and now they are chasing the 3rd one in a row. On the other hand Porto are also on the rise this year.

I'm watching the Benfica vs Chaves game right now



Benfica already scored a goal very early, it was a long shot, I thought the Chaves goalkeeper could save it, but he couldn't, but I confess that I still see Benfica as weak, they need to get closer to the opponent's defense and be effective in scoring goals, they can't keep the ball for too long and then not score a goal, that's why they dominate possession but are not effective in attack, Mourinho needs to correct this in the next transfer window

It is unfortunate that in the Portuguese league, Sporting CP had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Braga. Similarly, Benfica, who had previously been defeated, had to settle for a draw with Porto FC, even though the match was an opportunity for Benfica to catch up with Porto. Unfortunately, Jose Mourinho was unable to defeat the club he had previously coached.

Meanwhile, in the Champions League, Sporting CP performed quite well, although they did suffer a narrow defeat to Napoli in the second round. For the third round against Marseille, this will undoubtedly be a tough match, even though Sporting CP will be the home team. I believe Sporting will win the match, but I'm dubious about Benfica. Newcastle is struggling, but I believe they can improve at home. Benfica may be doing well in the local league, but against other leagues, I strongly believe they can make an impact.

UEFA Champions football nights comes again and we would be looking at the tough games. Sporting CP vs Olympique Marseille is crucially one of the tough game to predict. Who's going away with winning and whose settling for defeats? Sporting CP are ranked 14th on the UCL table and Olympique Marseille are 12th with bothsides looking forward for a win. Sporting are up against Olympique Marseille and its definitely going to be a tough game. The shocking part is bothsides have good odds to win, I'm just going to place my wager on goals over 1.5 because that's one of the safest means to bet.

I think Jose Morihno just need to pick at least a point in this game, Benfica can’t just go 3 games without at least a point. Honestly when I watch Benfica since morihno too charge I would say they have really improved defensively though the goals are not yet flowing for them but defensively they are much better. If Benfica can manage to score  first in this game they might stand a chance to get At least a point out of St. James park.

Sporting should win this one, they they have not also been their best this season but since they playing at home it should help them get at least a win In this game. For sure it going to be a difficult game because marseille have been in a very good foam but playing at home should be a big advantage for sporting.
