I don't know why Mourinho is going to clubs that can't bring out money to spend and buy the  types of players that Mourinho wants and can play to his taste and standard. It's obvious that from the beginning of Mourinho as coach of Benfica most people knew that they were definitely going to struggle. Because when you don't spend money in buying the type of players that the coach wants and can play to his standards there is going to be problem with the coach trying to implement his game plan.

I don't know why Mourinho accepts to train a team that his owners aren't allowing him to do whatever he wants in order to play his strategy freely. He should not accept since the beginning. Now he has to deal with that and accept critics.
Benfica is not well, they are doing their best but it is far from guaranteeing a place in UEFA Champions League next season from what I see. They can still compete for the cup since they are not eliminated yet but nothing is impressive there.

With increased confidence following the victory over Club Brugge from Belgium, coupled with playing at their home ground, Estadio Jose Alvalade, and Sporting Lisbon only facing a team of the caliber of Estrela Amadora, a weak team currently ranked 12th in the temporary standings of the Portuguese league, Sporting will certainly win easily without significant difficulty. Without star players and with a transfer budget at the start of the season or last summer of only 2 million euros, Estrela Amadora has no significant strength additions from the previous season when they nearly got relegated, finishing 15th, just 2 points above the relegated team.

Don't get too excited. They may be performing well, but I doubt they'll be able to maintain this position until the end of the championship.

Gil Vicente is a major offside team; even if they finish well in the standings this season, next year will be much more difficult. Furthermore, these teams tend to see a drop in performance in the second half of the season.

I was analyzing this very thing and ended up getting confused. I thought there were more rounds in the Portuguese league and confused it with the Brazilian Serie A. Due to the end of the year, I thought more rounds had already passed, but it's not even halfway through yet. Anything can happen, there are still 22 rounds left. There's still a lot to play for.

Confidence alone is not enough, it only complements the abilities we have if we have strong optimism, in the end it is skill that will be the door to every team being able to win the match.

Benfica managed to save their asses against Nacional in last minutes. Game ended 1:2 after two late goals of Benfica, but they really struggled today. I didn't liked ref job today. He added 9 minutes of extra time, but during these 9 minutes ball was in play for maybe 4 or 5 minutes. Despite this, ref didn't added few more minutes and called final whistle after 9 minutes.

You know what - your post reminded me few cclubs besides big 3 that managed to win Portuguese league. Boavista won league in  early 00s, still pplayed in top division last season and now they ceased to exist. Other club with league title Belenenses now issomewhere in lower divisions.
I don't believe that in remaining part of my life I will see club outside Big 3 winning league. They only can fight to become best of the rest or if one of big clubs is struggling, try to take 3rd place.

It would take a great miracle for Benfica to overtake those two teams in the table and become champions. I hope that next season Benfica will have a squad that fights for the title and not this weak current squad.

I still believe, not specifically in the Gil Vicente team, but that someone will take Braga's place. They haven't been doing well for a while, so I think for the other teams to do well they just need to be better than Braga, and currently that's very easy.

Haven't looked at odds yet, I would say that Sporting has slightly better chances, despite playing away. Sporting is playing better football, while Benfica have no easy games, they're struggling even against small teams.
BTW, I was very disappointed about Porto yesterday. Expected easy win against Estoril, but they had difficulties and that 1:0 result probably reflects the game.

It would interesting and something new, but I'm not really sure about their chances. It's difficult tell when I saw just few their games, and not against their own level opponents but against Porto or Benfica

Challenging top 3 is never been easy for any team because these top teams have enough sources, and they are also having good quality players this is big difference Gil Vincente is currently doing good but still many round with few challenging matches in last game they lost against a relegation zone team at home before this have 1 point against bottom side AFS.

Consistency is always important Braga is surely having troubling time, but they can fight back with better and improved strategy Porto is doing good at the top Benfica vs Sporting CP is going to be had good contest this can create good chance for Porto have better difference of points from opponents.

Benfica defeated the worst team in UEFA Champions League so far and I can't imagine the face of the owners if Benfica lost it. I wouldn't count a lot on that game but it will certainly boost the team spirit before facing Sporting this Friday. The match will be intense in my opinion. Benfica which has the home advantage has 2.7 odds to win on average while Sporting odds are at 2.5.
I tend to support Sporting over Benfica.
