I know Ajax are not as good as they used to be, that is the reason why they are in the conference league after all. That famous UCL run they had a few years back, with the great squad they had, it was magical, and since then, they have been steadily getting worse.

But at the same time, this is Ajax we are talking about, no matter how bad they are, they are still a decent team, and I would not say that they have no chance of winning this, they could still end up getting the title if they do a bit better than they did this season.

Ajax Recent Form Are Very Poor They Deserve a UCL . Their History Is very Much Rich From UCl Trophy But now they are Playing Europe league sometime and now Playing Conferences Legaue.  That's really bad for Ajax . If you watch old matches of Ajax they are so good they rebuild the modern Football the Cruyff Philosophy . One of the main character of the modern Football.  And ajax Are using that's same philosophy but didn't succeed . I think The problem is Dutch league are so behind from the Premier league and la liga They didn't bring any new talent to the league that's why they are so behind from the other league

It's been long we last saw an Ajax team that's entertaining to watch or should I say convincing enough to earn the backing of many football fans. Ajax has a history of challenging for the big trophies in Europe when they're playing at their best so I agree that they might end up winning an European trophy.
But looking at the current Ajax team, I think it'll be difficult for them to achieve that. Their quality of football is below what we know Ajax to be and until there's a major improvement, they'll likely continue to make up the numbers.

Brighton are the favorites for me right now. We'll see how the season starts and what comes from the transfer window, but English teams always have a greater advantage in the Europa League and Conference League. The Champions League is a different story.

I also have more confidence in teams from the Premier League than in other leagues when it comes to the Europa League and Conference League next season. Furthermore we shouldn't forget that next season, Monaco a team that frequently plays in the UCL will be playing in the Conference League. They shouldn't be underestimated as Monaco is one of the strongest teams in Ligue 1. While their poor performance last season forced them to play in the Conference League, I'm confident Monaco will make major changes next season to secure a return to the ULC. This means Monaco will be looking to strengthen their squad depth next season which will automatically impact their performance in the Conference League.

The inability to make it to the top flight in the last period, frequently leads to an incredible tactical and mental revolution. I think they are even more dangerous than Crystal Palace.    If they take it serious - which I believe they'll - I don't see why they aren't reaching at least the finale!

On the other hand, Hurzeler has overspent a ridiculous amount of money. Two years, hundreds of millions. However, once you see who is playing, it's... Danny Welbeck carrying the attack at 35?

The transfer noise is very real. Their top midfielder could leave, Ferguson could leave, their star left-back could leave. Two of those things make it a whole new team come September.

However, Crystal Palace literally won this tournament. The mid-table side of England walking through Conference League and winning the trophy. Chelsea won it last year. That is, consecutive winners of English titles and people still wonder if EPL teams have an edge?

It's not all that much of a talent advantage now. About depth, conditioning, the fact the Brighton back up midfielder is getting beaten up week in week out by Arsenal and City. That toughness transfers. It cannot be reproduced.

So, I think Brighton in particular wins it? Probably not if they get gutted in the window. But at this point, it's just a law of physics that someone from England will go deep.

The English teams has shown to be a tough teams to play not only in the conference league but across all the three European competitions. Particularly this season I was really impressed with the performance that came from the English teams which culminated in two of the European cups going to England. They almost made it 3/3 in Europe, so I will not be surprised to see another English team win the conference league come next season.


But we have to know that every season is not the same as the previous one. That things are going well with English teams doesn't make them automatic champions of a competition that has not even started. We all should wait until the new season starts.

I don't know what happened to Ajax. They used to be a regular team in the UEFA Champions League competition but recently, they've been underperforming. They have a good chance of picking up from their poor campaign this season that they finished 5th in the Dutch league and win the UEFA Europa Conference league next season but that I think will be difficult for them. The Conference league will be too energy consuming for the current Ajax team to win next season, that's what I think.

One major problem i see affecting most teams especially the little teams is finance, when a team lacks finance they find every possible means just to raise capital for the teams upkeep and the only way this can be done is by selling of players. Ajax is one team with great talents that attracts other teams to purchase them and once they leaves it becomes a problem getting a permanent and suitable replacement because of how expensive good players are in the transfer market.

That’s certainly one of the problems but, their are a host of others which isn’t exempted from the fact that, some of these mid tier teams act like a nursery bed or an academy for developing talents. Once a promising talent is discovered in some of the mid tier teams, you’ll find the elite teams so eager to get them off. Same team you would be competing against and most times, they get sold off.
It happened with Bayer Leverkusen and Leicester City. They both are a struggling team today and Leicester City have even being relegated to the league 1 if I’m not mistaken.

The Conference League is the least attracting UEFA competition. But the finale of the 2024/25 season was at least a good one. Real Betis - Chelsea...

However I can't say I enjoyed it this year. Crystal Palace played it quite one sided despite the score. I wonder how much rating did the final even have on TV? Does UEFA really make a good profit from this competition?
