Don't be surprised that this embezzlement of funds you mention, the NFF is not the only one that is involved in embezzling the amount mapped out for the support of building sports facilities in Nigeria; some top government officials will be involved in the embezzlement. That's the reason why, when issues like this are being raised, it is swept under the carpet by the authorities because of those involved.

These people are fucking corrupt and they are not interested in any development at all, all they care about is looting and buying different properties both in their home country and abroad where they could hide in case their is a watch on them. They would not mind to use 10% of the total allocation of fund for a project that of high need to the society. There is nothing we the watchers can do about this. I find it pathetic that even for women competition, there is many countries that did not participate because of financial charge.
It is ridiculous in 2025 that many players cannot fulfill their dreams because of the way these competitions are taking places. CAF think that Africa is like Europe. Teams can travel everywhere at any time. No unfortunately. They should collect all nations at the same place at once with affordable plane tickets and accommodations, play for a couple of weeks and finish. That way we can learn who is the best players and so on.

Iwobi can't go above the club he's at now in the premier league. Lets not forget he was once playing for Arsenal but has downgraded to where here playing now. Maybe he can find success in other leagues but not the premier league. The other players you're referring to went from small clubs to big ones and not the other way round that the career of iwobi is taking. I don't understand why all African players especially Nigerians are killing themselves in the premier League when they can find success with other leagues. They get stuck to it and have uptil now have that same mentality. Look at Osimehn, he’s still being at his best even when he’s playing for Galatasaray, he was also the one of the players that lead to Napoli winning the Serie A last two season’s, he may not have gained same achievements if he was playing in the premier league. Yeah is not a surprise because it should be a routine league for them since they are already the African women best team, is like when PSG qualifies from there league to UEFA, nobody will see any different thing about it because is the place they go every year without stopping. If our super Eagle men players can also make us proud in this world cup to lift the trophy like the way those super falcon women lifted the Africa cup, and also qualified for WAFCON 2026, it will make Nigerian government and citizens to be happy. Well said mate, I believe Fulham is definitely big enough for him and the playing time he is getting there suits the devolvement of himself and his career, so a move now out of where he is comfortable is not entirely a good idea at all and I wouldn't advice him to do so at all. Sometimes players feel the need to play in bigger clubs but when they get there sometimes they don't play up to the standards and because of expectations they begin to lose out form and value too.

The roars about the NFF misconduct and miss management of funds allocated by FIFA and CAF for support in building of sports facilities finally gets to the national house as the House of Representatives deliberated on it in the lower chambers. The motion was moved by Hon. Adedayo Samuel Adesola and co-sponsored by Hon. Nwaeke Felix Uche. They both raised issues concerning the transparency and governance in the NFF to be very poor and are yet to see the dividends of the support from FIFA and CAF over the years.

After reading the news I was wondering if it was today they felt that the inputs and grants from the two organisations are not reflecting as required or they are just doing their normal routine meeting just to divert the attention of Nigerians making them feel they really care about the affairs of the NFF.

It is very bad that all our leaders responsible in mining the affairs of this country just want to use public funds to better their lives. NFF didn't mismanage the money given to them by FIFA and CAF in support for them to build a stadium because if they had in mind to use all the money on the project FIFA and CAF donated the money to them for, they could have built a good stadium. Even if this matter has gotten to the national house and is being deliberated by the house of representative, it will not yield anything, and NFF will go unpunished, because i believe there are some politicians that are involved in embezzling the $1.2 million.

At the international level, both the eagles and the falcons are disgracing the country because they haven't won anything internationally but in Africa, both teams have done us noble although we'll have to give that praise more to the falcons. Untill one of the teams deliver the world cup I don't think any of them have done anything worth celebrating because winning the afcon or the wafcon isn't that big of a deal anymore because we have some of the best footballers from both genders in the continent and are expected to dominate the tournaments. The most important thing is that our ladies are representing the country perfectly, so it doesn't matter how the men perform. The Super Falcons have always made us proud as a country and honestly, the last Women's Africa Cup of Nations final between the Super Falcons and Morocco made me to know that these ladies really have so much passion for their country. I don't believe that the current squad of the Super Eagles can really bring glory to Nigeria so i don't really think anything will change much because despite that we have quite some good players that are very determined to see the team succeed but it's so bad that there is no team work in most of their matches which means that the few who wants to see the growth of the team cannot do it alone and it has become a problem for them. Omo what you're talking about is a bitter sad truth which speaks volume about how corrupt our Nigerian sports administration especially within the NFF which if you look at it deeply you will agree with me it is just a reflection of corrupt the entire political system of the country is as a whole. The painful thing with these things is monies which are supposed to be meant for the facilities and players welfare often ends up in the pocket of few individuals within the system who called themselves the leaders of those MDAs designated with the responsibility of handle those things now living the country's sports infrastructure under poor condition and making more young and brilliant talents frustrated in the system.
