I follow this match from beginning to the end. Gabon played well in the first half and in the second half. Though they're more on defensive in the second half but the extra time, they became weak and as of that time that the Super Eagles became strong. I also give up hope of Nigeria qualifying again after Victor Osimhen missed the last minute goal. But he became the man of the match again. And now that Nigeria has qualified in the world cup. How to scale through in the group stage of the main World Cup Tournament is the next thing for them to do. And Nigeria used to give heart attack in that stage.

Nigeria haven't qualified for the world cup yet, they are still going through the playoff stage. Now that they have won Gabon they are going to face the winner of the match between Cameroon vs DR. Congo. If they can win that match they will progress to the next phase. There is still a long way for the super eagles team to go before they can qualify. Let's keep our fingers crossed and see how they will fare in the next stage.

it is not true congo and Cameroon are even more stronger when compared to  Gabon. Gabon I think this should be there first of coming this far and they were able to hold Nigeria to a draw. Nigeria meeting any of this two clubs, Cameron or Congo the match will be a tough one. The supper eagle really needs to step up in there pattern of play. If not for the additional 15 minutes they missed so many opportunities. Even oshimen missed one on one , a goal that would have ended the match at exactly 90 minutes.

I don't know who's the strongest among the trio, but I think it's unnecessary even having this argument. All the teams that made it this far, in my own opinion, are strong, and it would be silly for the Super Eagles to write off any of them. Nigeria was one of the favourites to qualify from the group, and we lost that opportunity. We shouldn't screw this one up again with complacency, we should give every match our very best.

It’s good to see that Victor Osimehn have redeemed himself by scoring two goals in the additional 30 minutes after he missed the chance to win the game at normal full time.

Gabon failed to stand more than 90 minutes. They did pretty well scoring a late goal and forcing Nigeria to play two extra time periods. I recall back in the time, the additional time stop once a player scored the golden goal but it was abolished like a decade or two ago, I don't remember and with that Super Eagles wouldn't play more than 7 minutes instead of 30 minutes and injury time.
Again Nigeria is one step closer to qualify and it has to face next the winner in the match between Cameroon and DR Congo. It is extra time and the result is still goalless.

I was happy when Victor Osimhen got the chance at the last minute of the match, and I believed Victor Osimhen would win the match for us, but I was so surprised when Victor Osimhen shot the ball wide when he should have buried the ball at the back of the net. Yes, if Victor Oshimen had scored that goal, there's no way Nigeria and Gabon could have played an additional thirty minutes. But I am happy Victor Osimhen scored two goals in the additional minutes and make up for his late miss.

I just love as the match ended, although that chance was something he would have buried to keep our minds at rest but it didn't happen only for a better thing to come afterwards. You know as we say it in the country, we allowed them to enter extra time, so we will beat shege from their head. The last time Nigeria Vs Gabon played was almost 20 years ago before this and that match ended 3 - 1 in favour of Nigeria.

 And just when it felt like the carbon team would try to stroke back another hit goal from our outstanding Victor Oshimen. Right now its obviously a wrap for the match . Everything was wrapped up in that 30 minutes of Extra time, Osimhen is on fire again as he nets a brace this time around. In their last game against Benin Republic it was a hat trick and a brace for him today. That's 5 goals in two matches for his country. After the goal at 78 minutes, I thought it was all over not until Gabon equalised and brought the match to extra time were they were then thrashed.

Well played by the super eagles, they played well as a team and they could have won the match since the 90 minutes, but a mistake from the goalkeeper caused them to play an extra time to win the match, Nigeria Super Eagles goalkeeper has to stop what he is doing before the World Cup starts, if he does not stop, it will affect Nigeria when they play against top countries because he will make Nigeria concede goals, his over confidence is too much and he has to stop it.

I am worried about Nigeria's next match against the opponent that they will face in the playoff final, if they do not have a good midfielder, they will not go far in the World Cup even if they qualify, Cameroon and Congo are currently playing and look better than Nigeria, Nigeria's coach should try to prepare the players for the final because it will not be an easy game.

The Nigerian Super Eagles seem to have become stronger now that we are in a critical position regarding the World Cup qualification. Assuming they were this serious during the normal qualifiers, there was no way we wouldn't have topped the group and qualify already. It was really good that the match did not get to penalty. We played them, we supposed to have won before 90 minutes but it can happen like this. After extra time was good as Chidera Ejuke scored, Victor Osimhen netted 2 more. I predicted that Nigeria will qualify an we qualified. It is really nice so much.

After a shaky start to the group stage, the squad has tightened up, and the recent 4‑0 win over Benin showed the attacking firepower that was missing earlier in the campaign. 

Which the Coach Eric Chelle has finally got the players buying into his game plan, and the midfield trio of Ndidi, Iwobi and Onyedika is dictating tempo .

You are on point bro. The Super Eagles gave their all today. They massively attacked and also defended very well throughout the match. Unlike some of the past games, the games were organised and passes were accurate to a large extent.  

The match between Cameroon and the DR Congo is still goalless. The game is going into the final minutes and might go into extra time, just as the Nigeria-Gabon game did. The finals on Sunday will be between Nigeria and the winner of the second match.

The super eagles didn’t play so well in both the first and second half of the match, but they played extremely well during the extra time which was given in the match. Super eagles scored 3 goals just within the few minutes given for the extra time, I don’t know why they didn’t put up that kind of performance in both the first and second half of the match.

The super eagles won against Carbon, and they have been promoted to the next stage which they are going to be playing against either Cameroon or D.R Congo. The match is currently on, and anyone that wins will be facing super eagles.

Victor Osimhen is really a talented player, he performed brilliantly today, and was able to score two goals for the super eagles today, am impressed with the way he played today, but I expect more from him.

This Cameroon Vs DRC match seems to be another hell for both teams as they are almost nearing the 90 minutes mark and no goal yet from either team. The Nigeria Vs Gabon game produced it's first goal in the 78th minutes and this very game has just gone past that mark. Congratulation to our super eagles for progressing to the final round of the world cup play off, and now they will be waiting for the final outcome of the game between indomitable lions of Cameroon vs Democratic Republic of congo. I expected Nigeria to win this Gabon team because the quality between both teams are miles apart, and if Nigeria were very serious from the very on set of this world cup qualifying series, they wouldn't be playing this playoff encounter because they would have qualified as their group winners. So they just have to win their next opponent to increase their chances of qualifying for the world cup next year.

Hard way  they say is the best way then so be it. We should have buried that game long in the second half of the game but Victor Osimhen  failed to convert that chance. It gladdens my heart he was able to score two solid goals in the end. He is a true definition of a fighter and a champion. Sometimes it's like that even the best players will do mistakes and fail to score in important and critical decisions making time's. I think that oshimen was not just lucky in regulation time of this game because it was obvious from the beginning of the game that luck was not on his side because he was still able to score two goals and all the goals were world class goals. Whether Nigeria won in regular time or not the important thing is that Nigeria made it over Gabon.

I wouldn't have had any single fear if the game had entered a penalty shootout, even if the super eagle player did not play well in the game, I doubt it would have affected their taking of the penalty.
Victor Osimhen has been much relevant towards the ending of this tournaments qualification and his goal contributions has helped the Super Eagles to where they're right now, coming into the extra time and scoring 2 goals helped eased the match.

I don’t know what you are on about. We did exceptionally well despite the odds were against us. Many on this thread were worried about the results pre game and even during the first half, the players stepped up and gave us a beautiful win. This is a time to celebrate, enjoy the moment. The Nigerian team has given the Gabonese players mountain to climb and from the look of things they cannot climb this very mountain set by Nigeria tonight. I left the match and came to this thread to make a comment then it was still 1 - 1, you can guess how surprised I was when I tuned back on and saw Nigeria 3 Vs Gabon 1. What, what happened, how did it happen? I wasn't even gone for long and boom 2 goals already from a team that struggled to score 1 in whole 90 minutes. Well that's football for you, were 20 seconds is enough to win a match.

This is the end of the road for the Gabon team in this match, the score line was much for them to even think of a possible comeback.

The Gabon defense was broken up by Victor Osimhen with a hilarious and stunning goal in the extra time of this playoff encounter.
