Yesterday i was only surprised with the out come of Ireland and Portugal game, but as for Nigeria vs Gabon and Cameroon vs D.R. Congo, i was not surprised with the out come because the teams that won are meant to win.

Many unexpected results for me. I am particularly surprised from Cameroon. This nation was almost always present in the FIFA World Cup and rarely missed it. DR Congo in the other hand barely managed to go there once like half century ago?
Nigeria has a super chance to pass DR Congo and avoid a classic match against their old rival and neighbor. The winner in this game will not qualify directly to the World Cup but will have to go through play-offs again against 6 nations in the Intercontinental Qualifier in March. Only two teams will qualify.
My unexpected result was only that of Ireland vs Portugal game. Yes, Cameroon always present in the fifa world cup and rarely missed it, but this present Cameroon team are not playing like the Cameroon that dominated African football in the past, so there is a possibility they will frequently miss to represent African in the fifa world cup. I don't know why some persons are happy that Nigeria will not play against Cameroon, because i believe Cameroon will not be difficult for Nigeria to win. Nigeria should make us proud by being among the 2 teams to qualify for the fifa world cup through the Intercontinental play off.
Just like Nigeria Cameroon are gradually fading away in international football that's why these two nations that were once considered as the continent big names are now struggling to feature for the FIFA world cup. In the past when the world cup is approaching you can guess the nations that will represent Africa but now it is almost impossible because the big nations that once dominated the continent football has been eaten up by corruption. That's why they are now struggling to qualify. If it were before who are DR Congo to knock out Cameroon in world cup qualifier match.

Nigeria will face DR Congo on 16th November this year. Based on Nigeria’s previous performances, I believe we still stand a strong chance of winning. However, football is unpredictable, so for those interested in betting, I recommend going for goal related options instead of a straight win.
If you are a risk taker, you can try the straight win option. But if you are risk averse, stick to safer goal markets such as 0.5, 1.5, or 2.5 goals.

Victor Osimhen is writing his name on the sands of time. He keeps pulling up suprises and I guess he may strip every record held by any former players. He is a goal poacher and a warrior. How super eagles crushed Gabon in 30 minutes is very pathetic. I pity poor Aubameyang who boasted to beat Nigeria in this game.
Yeah Osimhen is good and contributing positively to the team but isn't it more better to applaud the whole team instead of singlehandedly pick one player out of the rest to praise? The Super eagle turn up for the game yesterday against all odds and came out victorious. Of course, Osimhen has written his name boldly on the board that earned him respect and recognition but I don't us to give a sense of inferiority to the remaining players. Everyone of them contribute fairly to make it happen yesterday. Even Iwobi that we normally see as a weak player held our midfield firmly yesterday. Apart from Aubameyang I don't know any reputable player in the Gabon team that are capable of making it difficult for the supper eagles.
You are right, all the credit should not be going to victor osimhen since he is not the only one that did  the job yesterday, but we should not forget that our super eagles team plays more better when he is in the team than when he is not.
Furthermore, we should not be too excited because nothing has been achieved yet, we first needs to beat Dr congo and comes out among the top two teams in the intercontinental playoff before we can celebrate fully, not now that nothing has been achieved.
I get your points,it is not over yet until we defeat Dr Congo in the final. But we still have to celebrate to the fullest on our victory against Gabon, it wasn't easy reaching the Final. I was earnestly praying for Cameroon to win but unfortunately instead of Cameroon, Dr Congo were the ones that won the game. This Final, the super Eagles are coming prepared,we will steal the celebration from Dr Congo when we are declare winners. We are not afraid of facing Dr Congo on that day. We have the best team on the continent,Victor oshinhem will score Hat trick against Dr Congo.

The ball is now in the hands of Nigeria, if they want to make it to the WC, then the have to beat DRC in the finals on Sunday to qualify for the Intercontinental rounds and I see Nigeria as the strongest if they eventually make it. DRC finally saw off Cameroon in the late minute of the which a 1 goal difference which is enough to book their place on Sunday. Personally, I see an African team making that last spot from the Intercontinental match coming next year March.

Gabon tried their best to draw the match. At the end of 90 minutes, Gabon succeeded. The 90 minutes ended in a 1-1 draw. We saw the dominance of Nigeria players throughout the match. Very few attacks were seen from Gabon players.
At this point, the only thing we need from the super eagles are consistency in winning even if it comes early minutes into the game or late into the game. A three goal difference in this first leg is something really good and sends fear to our next opposition camp but however, we need to face the next game with a fresh mindset and never allow us get into extra time without going at least two goals up. Osimehn with the brace, we need that energetic performance more than ever not just in the next game but also in subsequent games to come.

This is that moment where we all unit and send everything positive to the super eagles in all Thier games and wish them the very best of games both against Thier next opponent and when they get to the continental stage.

Truth is that, the Super Eagles going through this route to qualify for world cup is not an easy one. Every team that is playing the playoff is seeing their opponent as their last resort to qualify for the World cup, so they shouldn't expect to easily will all their encounter, and this guy are not too good in sparkling performance, they are always struggling to win game's, if not for the exceptional performance of some players like Akor Adams and Victor osimhen, am sure yesterday's game would have gone south.

Yes you’re right, qualifying for the World Cup wouldn’t be easy for them, because they put themselves in this situation, so they should suffer whatever they brought on themselves, if they had won the easier games in the group stages, they wouldn’t be suffering playing this shitty playoff games, and by the way they’re getting paid for it, if it’s true from what I heard that they went on strike because of unpaid wages, so they should suffer to qualify for the World Cup, and if they can’t they should rest so everyone can forget the Super Eagles, because I don’t even believe Super Eagles are going to be in the next World Cup, the Nigerian Government and the NFF have never done anything good in an already disgraced country shouldn’t be in the World Cup.

Though I didn't watch Super Eagle's match yesterday, it was only the highlight I watched, but I was very excited to see that Super Eagles made it to the final. Because this stage is a very difficult one as every country want to qualify for the final, I was so surprised about the way DRC won Cameroon, that wasn't what I was expecting because Cameroon had so many chances in the first half but I don't what made them not to find the back of neck. Actually the ball is now in their hands, but they need to put more force in this game because DRC boys are dangerous, so the Super Eagles needs to start scoring in the first half to enable them qualify to the World Cup.

Lolz, you make it sound like it's a far event when it's on Sunday. I'd have to be honest with you, DR Congo are much more of a threat than Cameroon would have been. I watched the game and from what I saw, they don't play hurried football, they take advantage of every opportunity with the little they get and I bet you, if it hadn't been for Onana, there would have been more goals.
My problem with the Super Eagles would be the keeper, Stanley Nwabali. He tends to let himself get carried away and would have cost his side a lot with his careless attitude and going into that game on Sunday would be a real test of whether the Super Eagles can withstand the slow and unhurried pace of their opponents, DR Congo.

Benjamin Federick is less talked about, I want to give respect to those who respect should be given. This young, talented player has been a 10 in Nigeria's last two games. He is the player of the match today. This is a world-class player who needs to be noticed by top clubs.

Very soon clubs will be running after him by the end of the Wold Cup Qualify, very impressive player to look up to. I am very proud of whoever brought this gy to the Super Eagles team.
It's unfortunate that I didn't watch the match,  but I love it when people discover secret achievers in a team.
Nobody knew the work Carrick did for the then Manchester United team, until it was revealed;
Same with Busquet of Barcelona;
Same with Ngolo Kante of Leicester city
In every team, there are silent warriors, great you identified him.
You miss the tough part of the game guy, because victor osimeh score 2 goals as he did in the last game. super Eagle of Nigerian make us proud yesterday, because people nearly give up on super Eagle that they will lose the game when Gabon equalized the game 1:1. But those players really show the real identity of Nigerian be the giant of Africa yesterday by using the extra time to add more 3 goals to beat Gabon 4:1. This can only be the effort of their coach who brought them from their various clubs to come and play for super Eagle, because he was the one that invited those potential players to assist super Eagle to fight this world cup qualifiers.

Super Eagle can do the same thing to DR Congo, and it will make many clubs to start searching for those super Eagle players to sign, because they are playing game like Bayern Munich players.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria is really lucky to have a striker like Victor Osimhen who has maintained consistency since when he was playing for the Nigeria junior teams till now that he is playing for the senior team. Only few players has been able to maintain such level of consistency in the National team squad. Watching him at the world cup will be a dream come through because this player has given all his efforts to make it to the world cup so i wish they pass through the playoff round and qualify.
He has won the heart of us all, looking how he plays fighting always to get the ball for us to score and win the game. He is more concerned with the team winning rather than him being on the scoresheet, and if many of the players gave their all from the very first beginning we would have not been in this state fighting for qualification till now even with the remarkable number of stars we have globally.

The team needs to do more and remain cautious for us to get the qualifying slot and make it to the World cup.

His fighting spirit and his resilience mentality is second to none. This guy is a true definition of passion for his country regardless of the little rewards they get while playing for the national team. I saw a video where he was leaving his club side Galatasaray to come for the match and i heard how he was telling the team that he's going to represent his country. What has amazed me about Victor Osimhen is his kind of energy while with the ball and when scoring, his level of precision needs to be studied and he shows how excited he is whenever he scores.

Of course we are expecting the Super Eagles to continue with this spirit when they meet DR Congo because it will be so sad to drop out of the playoff at this point, they really need that ticket to the World cup, i believe they will get it because there is teamwork and cooperation in the squad now and they are all working collectively to see the success of the team.

Good game and a good result for the Super Eagles. I was really surprised to see the final score was 4–1 because I had already switched off my TV in anger when Victor Osimhen missed that golden chance to finish the game in the last minute of the second half.

Thank God they still won. It would have been a different story for the Super Eagles if they had failed to beat Gabon. But in the end, they played well, took their chances, and got a strong win. Kudus to Victor Oshimen! He's actually writing his name in the history book of the Nigerian National Team.

It would have been worse if they had lost, but with this victory they have hope of qualifying, because in my opinion Gabon was more problematic than Cameroon or Congo. I think Nigeria can beat Cameroon or Congo without much difficulty. I don't see Nigeria losing to Cameroon, I don't see Nigeria losing to Congo. Today's victory sounds like almost guaranteed qualification. Cameroon is unstable and so is Congo. If Nigeria loses against Cameroon or Congo it would be a very bad joke.
it is not true congo and Cameroon are even more stronger when compared to  Gabon. Gabon I think this should be there first of coming this far and they were able to hold Nigeria to a draw. Nigeria meeting any of this two clubs, Cameron or Congo the match will be a tough one. The supper eagle really needs to step up in there pattern of play. If not for the additional 15 minutes they missed so many opportunities. Even oshimen missed one on one , a goal that would have ended the match at exactly 90 minutes.
The Gabonese in terms of action on the field can't be compared to Cameroon and Dr Congo's, I have seen these respective teams play and among them all Dr Congo is who I fear and wasn't praying to meet against Nigeria but unfortunately, Cameron couldn't kick them out. It's definitely gonna be a tough game for Nigeria when they go against Dr Congo than what Gabon was like. The Congo players are fast, can attack and with a good defense. I think the Dr Congo game will be the hardest game for Nigeria in the playoffs.

I honestly don’t know what’s going on with the Nigerian goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali. The coach really needs to sit him down and talk to him because his level of confidence is becoming too much. If care is not taken, he might end up costing the Super Eagles one day. I don’t know if he now sees himself as a prime Manuel Neuer, but lately he’s been holding and playing with the ball far more than he should.

Against Benin Republic, he almost gifted them a silly chance, and now the same thing nearly happened again in the game against Gabon. It’s becoming a pattern, and it really needs to be addressed before it becomes a serious problem for the team.

Good game for the Super Eagles, they needed that win, which will take them to the final, and if they can qualify in the Continental phase then it will be a good pace for them. Although the game extended to the extra time, but at least the win is what matter most. Kudos to them as they progress to the next phase.
They will face Dr Congo in the last phase/final of the CAF qualification to the next phase of the world cup, this is when they need to put there heads down and focus on the game as they have a step to the world cup qualification. For me, I'm routine for Nigeria to have a win over Dr Congo, I think they have more potential to do so

You highlighted what the super eagles need to be doing, making people to skipping is not nice, relaxing in the first half and going for goals in the second half will not help us, what if they were not able to score any goal in the second half who knows what would have been their fate right now, it is a good thing that they won but is also good to face the reality, this die minute thug is a risk, they should also figure out ways to defend their goals, because their some mistake that might lead to a draw and that is what super eagles should try to avoid, congratulations to the super eagles of Nigeria for this winning

This is what corruption and bad leadership does to a country. It affects every aspect of the country. No sector can escape it. Nigeria used to be a household name in the U17 World Cup, now they cant even qualify for it anymore. A corrupt society makes everybody complicit. In Cameroon, Eto is the chairman of the FA, yet he is one of those who participate in the corruption. He is involved in match fixing and supporting a corrupt president. This is someone who has spent so many years in Europe and has had a first-hand experience of how things are done right, yet he's still part of the problem in his country. If he were in a working country, he wouldn't have been part of the corruption, but since he is in a place that allows it, he joins them. If the government of these countries don get better, everything will continue to get worse, include the sports sector.

Without any form of prejudice, I will have to say that you are right. Gabon depended so much on an aging striker Aubameyang.  A team with a sound attacking force would have gotten at least two goals. And this would have been a punishment for our wastefulness. Imagine Osimhen missing multiple chances with the goalkeeper. The Nigerian defence did well, always supporting the attack and returning very fast.

Congo has a young squad, which means they can come up with surprises.  Super Eagles' remedy will be maximising most of the chances they will create. Victor redeemed himself by his brace, Nigerians would have blamed him if we had lost that game.

Another challenge is Nwabali. He keeps making silly mistakes that might result in a regrettable event.

As of today my bro said something about this guy and I was was like "na true oh, nobody reason this guy", honestly speaking nobody talked about this guy's composure in the back line, him and Bassy did one hell of a job to cover the goalkeeper from being exposed. My fear about players like Federick is whenever people, the media starts talking about them and whenever the join any big side the expectations will now be much and they'll lose their cool of getting the job done, I'd prefer he remains silent until something big happens for him to be among the big side in any top leagues in Europe.

If Nigeria didn't want to make it to the World Cup, they couldn't have defeated Gabon yesterday. One thing you must know is that DR Congo also wants to qualify for the World Cup, so it won't be easy for Nigeria to win against DR Congo, but I am confident Nigeria will emerge as the winner of the play off final come Sunday. If Nigeria qualifies for the intercontinental rounds, they shouldn't underestimate any team even though they are the strongest team because surprises can happen in football. They should treat any team they will play against as their equal so it can enable them to make it to the World Cup.

Stanley Nwambali needs to take caution, he has made several errors in this work cup qualifiers even though some of them did not lead to goal; I think he needs competition which I think he will soon have one because Maduka Okoye has also been called and was on the bench yesterday; we know how good Okoye is just that Nwambali was in good for in the last Afcon played, if he keep making such errors, he should be substituted, no one is above substitution in this squad.

Generally, good game to the players, the teamwork is coming back, they are now playing like a team, the talented players are having good time since they now understand each others pattern of game.

I am looking up to the final on Sunday against Dr Congo; the super eagles shouldn’t underrate them because they defeated Cameron, let’s come and play serious football and get to the World Cup.
