Moving forward, Ademola Lookman has been the culprit in today's game. I am still in shock at how the African player of the year has been so poor throughout the World Cup qualifier.

Another observation made here is that the Super Eagle cannot match the physicality of DR Congo. So far, they have won the fewest aerial duels, 1v1, except for Benjamin Federeick, who has always been solid in the defense since he joined the team.

I'm watching the game and I confess I'm surprised at how much pressure Congo is putting on Nigeria, and how easily some Nigerian players lose possession. It seems like Congo has the better squad when it's actually Nigeria. It seems to me that Nigeria's problem lies with the coach; some players lack discipline, aren't playing well, and need correction or even to be left out of the squad. My question is: will Nigeria really qualify if they play this badly? Because after the game against Congo they will have more games and they will be against stronger opponents than Congo.

Our coach should change both players so that Victor Oshimen will have the chance to score in this game because Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze is not creating enough chance that could see them cross the ball.

Exactly, just as he did in our last match against Gabon, he should consider bringing in Moses Simon to make the attack more dangerous because both Lookman and Chukweze are not playing to expectations, and we really need to finish this game before 90 minutes.

I must commend the effort of the players generally, but such silly mistakes can lead us to further problem especially as Nwambali is too confident of himself which might also be another problem. Wilfred Ndid should have done better in that attempt to control that ball in the 18 yard box, he should have go for safety and gave the corner kick instead of give their striker the ball to score.

Nevertheless, we still have 45 minutes to prove our strength, I hope the coach motivate the players and also how the players can do their best to play for the nation to win for Nigeria.

Honestly the super eagles aren't playing this match tho my admiration. They're not making good use of their midfield or their midfield isn't as creative as supposed. DR Congo is relegating then to only making use of the flank. They're more concerned with holding the back and dominating possession but execution wise they're poor in it. I hope they would get more creative this second hair and give us a nice display. The first hair ended in a tie, 1-1, I'm rooting for the super eagles but they really need to do better honestly. If DR Congo gets a second goal, it might be very difficult for them to come back if they continue playing like this.

You are right Ademola Lookmon is a shadow of himself and wasted a lot of balls. Nigeria defense was weak which led to the equalizer. Iwobi made an error and felt reluctant to go and cover up for him mistake, giving the Congolese the opportunity to square the ball. The worse of it is that Nigeria player was the one who positioned the ball properly for M.Elia to equalize the goal.

The Super Eagles had a few chances of scoring more goals but they failed to find the back of the net. The second half will be tougher than this because both teams will play with their last strengths in order to win the game.

I don’t know why most players in the super eagles are always performing poorly whenever they are playing for there country, super eagles are having quality players, but we can see how they are struggling to qualify for the World Cup. I will say super eagles have the best players in Africa, but I don’t know why they don’t perform well whenever they are playing for there country, and most of this players are always performing well whenever they are back to their club.

Super eagles are currently struggling with D.R Congo, let’s see if they will be able to get a win today, if the super eagles doesn’t win the match, that means we just going to watch other countries play the World Cup, and my country won’t be among.

Excellent analysis which I do agree with. There were so many flaws in the game and I think this could’ve ended up with a better outcome than what we got. But then again I have so much little expectation of the super eagles and their games so until there is an improvement in the leadership of the Nigerian football Federation, we would continue to see this kind of poor and disappointing outcome for quite some time.

Osimhen not coming out of the dressing room for the second half should be about an injury or trying not to worsen an injury than a tactical change.
The second half has been more of Congo pressing Nigeria, the first half gave Nigeria chances to go two up before the Congolese equalizer.
The nerves of the Nigerian players are racking and the Congolese are enjoying themselves as the underdog and the team playing better.

Honestly, the Nigerian midfielders are doing a very bad job in today's game and that's the only problem in the team. The midfielders are just running around aimlessly and are neither supporting the defense nor the attackers. Osihmen is really suffering in this match, in as much as he's heavily marked, nobody appears to be feeding him the ball. See bro in a match that the midfield is not functional, nothing much comes out of those matches and from the look of things, DR Congo is surely a better side and deserves this victory more than Nigeria, I must be bluntly honest here.

Nigeria players have ran into their shell this second half. They're playing without confidence giving Congo the opportunity to attack them rapidly. I am surprised that Nigeria is playing a defensive game and that will cost them a lot because Congo has more chances of finding the back of the net by them. Whoever, scores first wins the game. Nwabali should be careful with his silly mistakes.

DR Congo took over the game since the beginning of the second half Nigeria team played nothing in the second even when Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze was substituted in the second half nothing seems to be working in the team, the absence of Victor Oshimen in the second half weakned the team,they are just playing like a team without formation they no longer have any target in the game. Nigerian team is lucky that DR Congo is not converting their chances by now they would have scored more than 3 goals.

With the way the game is currently going, I don't think Nigeria can survive this game except they hold onto the game and get it to the penalty shoot out because as it stands now the Nigerian team are just hanging on and don't really pose any major threat to the Dr congo team. Nigeria are not playing well enough today because they have played up to their standard and it's really disappointing, after all the show up and excellent performance now they want to wash it down the drain.
