The Super Eagles of Nigeria's failure to qualify for the next edition of the FIFA World Cup I know have left so many fans disappointed hence the lack of optimism among fans of the national team. The failure to qualify for the next edition of the World Cup revealed there are many inadequacies that the Eagles has got and they need to fix, such if not fixed, it will be wasteful piling up optimisim on them, even there performance in the play-off was buttressing the fact that these people may have not take the qualifications seriously or did lacked something they were hoping to achieve qualifications from the play-off.  Personally I used to be very optimistic about the Eagles but since I observed that there are possible sentiments amongst players and even the managing board, I just see no need of nursing the optimism, if some day it becomes clear all of that is settled, then I will look to expressing my optimism with the team.

Super eagles are always nearly all the time without being there for ones, we are looking at the AFCON too common from how strong the competition is, I'm yet to start imagining the take on super eagles on this AFCON because the only club I see to become the winner will not be any random country that is obviously losing as the super eagles but instead those country that have been showing to become the best in Africa, so if I began to mention suitable and most potential supposed champions to be on the AFCON the super eagles will be too low to be remembered mentioned.

I think we are grown enough to know when we are going to see value, since last 3 months there is nothing Super eagles has brought to the table for people to expect something better from them. Man, that's a whole vibe. Look, the motivation angle makes sense—Osimhen and Lookman can definitely ball out. You are definitely not wrong saying that the super eagles being one of the most talented teams in the entire African plain and they have all the capabilities to actually go far and even win the competition but just like you said they had a really bad run in the world cup qualifiers but it doesn't define the team capabilities at all, I mean we all saw the strength and length at which these boys could play when they had to play the last two to qualify before going for the play offs in the world cup qualifiers.

Am not against them being appreciated, but we have to look into this critical issue and apply more wisdom to it and see the actual situations that is involved on both the super eagle side and the government side, if the players are not performing as expected, the government may not be motivated to compensating them, while if the players are not receiving enough form the NFF, this may resulted into their drop in performance in playing for home country Nigeria, but how can everything in these manners be lanced when everyone is not doing the needful expected form them.

@Kingsden, I have similar belief with you concerning the possiblity of the Super Eagles potentials ahead of the CAF African Cup of Nations that'll kick off in January. Players like Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze are doing exceptionally well in their respective clubs and for them to stand any chance of winning the CAF best player award next year, they'll need to win the African Championship. Well I think you are also right on that but does that even count now? Because from the past our super where no all over the world if I’m correct but I think the government and NFF started this so called drama which I think it’s really unhealthy to us see guy it a very big slap for our government and us as a nation to be having such issues, see guy I want you to understand something that Nigeria is not a place where they can not affords to pay any kind of bills for the players just that greed is one of the most powerful things that is holding us back to this extend, lay take a look all this small established country under us in Africa how their player are be put together which should show as an example to us.

I must have said this somewhere in this forum before because that, to me, is one major challenge for the Super Eagles. Other strikers that should be competing for the spot and making themselves relevant in the team are more concerned about their personal game highlights for their personal profile than for the team performance.

If you are on the socials of strikers like Tolu and Boniface, who are alternatives, they will post that one game highlight where they almost scored on their profile even when the team lost that game. No concern.

Seriously it’s the dependence on Victor Osimhen who cannot fully stay fit is the problem. The Nigerian national team looks like it is a one man team with Osimhen but let’s be realistic, this super eagles team has lots of players that without Victor Osimhen they can simply step up and they would actually take the team forward. The likes of Lookman used to take their club to height but I don’t understand why they simply cannot replicate such form at the national team. Seriously Eric Chelle needs to strongly look for a way to have very strong team without Oshimen in that team because it will be useful in the future as I have a strong belief that he wouldn’t be able to complete the entire tournament without picking up another injury

Wait, I'm I the person that's not actually seeing correctly? Because I was just going to various fixtures for this week and next week and I saw according to livescore, that Morocco will be kicking of the AFCON campaign on the 21st of December 2025 with Comoros which means the competition is starting this very year and will end next year January 2026. Please, someone should confirm too, let me know I'm not going crazy about this.

Currently the Nigeria supper eagles are standing on one leg and that is then main reason for their under performance in recent time, Victor is being over worked already ans instead looking for a suitable alternative and support for thenyoung player and the entire team they are busy playing politics with the whole thing, this doesn't make sense really as their inability is affecting the entire National team image among other African countries.

What about Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman? I understand Osimhen but Lookman has not been performing for the Super Eagles in years, I don’t know you are mentioning him. It’s not enough to have big name players, they need to actually play like they are world class players. We lack that hunger and cohesion in the Super Eagles and that’s why I strongly believe we need no name players who will play their best to merit their place in the national team.
