Ahmed Musa has announced his retirement from international football this morning via his social media accounts. I feel nostalgic thinking about Musa’s time in the Super Eagles, his era was one of pure joy. Musa’s goal against Argentina in 2014 is GOATed and lives rent-free in my head

I can still remember that goal he scored against Iceland during the FIFA World Cup Competition. That goal will forever be tucked in my skull forever, the control and the finishing, that was top top football. Finally, like they say, don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. Not to take the attention from Ahmed Musa, but I still think a lot of politics behind the Trust Ekong Retirement. A major tournament ahead and these is how you sideline the leader of the group?! There's no way they're even winning the African Cup on Nations.

I have no faith in the Super Eagles with or without Troost Ekong. The squad is just a group of talented players that do not bond well together on the pitch and are being mismanaged. I am yet to see a manager that can crack the Super Eagles code and make this team into winners.

I read this news yesterday and it baffles me how some of our people were excited about this development. If you watched our friendly match yesterday with Egypt in preparation for the upcoming AFCON, you will never be impressed with anything that links Nigeria to World Cup. The truth is Nigeria is not ready to participate in any competitive tournament this season judging from their performance and it is better we save ourselves the embarrassment earlier. We had several opportunities to qualify for this world cup but we took it for granted. It's high time we accept our fate and move on to prepare better ahead than expecting miracles to happen.

Year upon year, this same story keep repeating itself, next time we get to prepare very well, and when is the next time ever going to come for the super eagles to leave up expectations, I think this whole thing about players showing lack of interest to bring out energy and strength to play for the super eagles to qualify for such a big competition like the world cup all lies in the way they're being treated, when they play and sustain injury, who treats them , how are they being taken care of when they retire?

The NFF and Super Eagles matter; we should just leave it for some other time because unfolding what's inside of it could make us angry and spoil our good mood.

Quite alright, the treatment our players receive and their allowances are very much below standard or compare to what foreign offer them but this is also a silly reason for their underperformance. These challenges are not exclusively peculiar to Nigeria alone, it's a general issue in Africa as a whole but take a look at our fellow black counterparts and how they're sacrificing for their nation amidst these challenges. Perhaps, their weak performance is what is holding government from making heavy investments in the sport sector. Believe it or not, no government would pick interest to develop that sector until the players change their mindset too.

Well, the Super Eagles could make it to the World Cup if Dr Congo is found guilty by Fifa, they just punished Malaysia and killed their hope of qualifying by giving them automatic 3-0 defeat in match where they feature ineligible players in the qualifiers, so Dr Congo could be next if Fifa look into their matter and notice they're guilty. Well it's not Nigeria's fault if Dr Congo is found guilty, although I don't want Nigeria to go over there and embarrass themselves in the World Cup tournament since they don't seem prepared but if Congo cheated their way to the tournament and get caught then it's a second chance for the Super Eagles.

And some of the Egypt strikers did not Play the friendly game with super Eagle and they still beat super Eagle of Nigerian 2:1. I know friendly game doesn't determine who will lift the world cup or  AFCON because game can change to make the club people don't think  to win the trophy. I guess that is what will happen to super Eagle of Nigerian if truly Dr cogo will be disqualify from the tournament, and it will give super Eagle of Nigerian to test their preparation in the world cup, because their performance have improve to push them to such level that will make their fans happy.

If super Eagle get such opportunity to qualified, I guess they will improve in the area of defensive and forward wing because this is the only wings that will make them to succeed in any competition they may encounter in the futur.

See bro if I understand you correctly I think you should have a better understanding on what I’m trying to state here well i no the our government system body is completely corrupt and the football government to are same but the true is that it can affect them in any ways, from experience i was a footballer back then and knew how this thing works when you play local competition and not been paid, how those it make you feel and not only that the same country you are trying to represent are the same people trying to as well cheat you, see baa all am trying to say here is let justice be served that all and things might go well and this might even boost their confidence higher, and it could also help to play well in the world torument well see I understand that foreigners outside can not be compared to but this is the part we are all missing it but it will make sense if they look into this matters.

In the case of supper eagles, I don't think there is any good performance left in them apart from the one they displayed during the just concluded world cup qualifiers, what those guys have, is what they offered or gave, I think people should stop making it look as if they gave little of what they have or there is something left for them to give, if players are playing angrily because of how poor they are been paid or treated as many of us think, it will look obvious, is not as if am in support of our corrupt NFF and the people that appointed them, am just saying that at some point, am begining to think that the performance of those guys is just what they gat, I think we expected much from them, which they don't have any left.

You are right we just have to wait till the competition start before we can start talking about Nigeria winning the African Cup of nation or not however as someone that is supporting Nigeria in this competition I want Nigeria to lift the African Cup of nation so I will keep supporting them even before they start the African Cup of nation, Nigeria may not do well in the qualifiers for World Cup that does not mean that they will not do well in this African Cup of nation remember the last competition we reach the final but was unable to lift the trophy, this time around i believe we may lift it, the group stage performance with determine if Nigeria will reach the final and then lift the trophy or not.

For me I see it as a let down or an insult to Nigeria and the Super Eagles if we have to depend on this kind of judgements to go to the World Cup. An opportunity was given to us by the point deduction sanction of South Africa, now it’s DR Congo. What if we get the rule in our favor Goto the next game and get walloped by an European or Asian Country what bigger shame is that, the Clap Back will be too much.

I still vividly remember our number 7, Musa himself, there was a time I once considered him best player in our team and that was when I was still supporting the Super Eagles and watching most of their matches. I didn't really get to wat Nigeria during Kanu, Okacha, West, Victor, Yobo etc, these guys were the people I mostly only watched their replays and not the real action. But I remember watching Musa very well. Congratulations to him on his retirement, his one of the players that played for team with his whole heart.
