It should be an easy win for Morocco with more than two goals.

The game is over and Morocco won, scoring two goals, both in the second half. Honestly, I don't even know if I'd consider that result an easy victory. I expected Morocco to score more goals, especially since they've been playing very well and the opponent was weak, but from what I see it was an average performance, and if the opponent had been really strong, maybe Morocco could have managed a draw at best. We'll see in the next games if Morocco improves their performance, maintains it, or worsens. This competition is very difficult to predict who will be the champion.

I love to see an opening game like this. I didn't watch it like you as I unfortunately had to be somewhere else when the game started (only saw the first 10 minutes) and just as I expected. Morroco dominated most of the game and rightly so. I have a strong feeling that there's plenty of action (and drama) ahead for us in this afcon.

I am not happy with the performance of Morocco. They were unable to score in the first half against Comoros, who are new to this competition. Better to save the best for the last or to keep the stamina on throughout the tournament. It's just getting started and at this point, the number of goals does not matter. What maters are the points.

I just watched parts of the goals through Al-Jazeera news, and the hosting nation's fans were quite so excited because of the goals that we scored.

Morocco was clearly better in this match and was better in every aspect of the game but in the end just broke Comoros in the second half. Morocco missed a penalty in first half and a couple of big chances. Comoros from the start decided to defend and just parked the bus but they couldnt hold out much.

Morocco honestly looks like the best team on paper and should reach the finals for me they are currently the favorites to win

I would have actually been disappointed at Morocco if they had not won this match because Cosmos or what is the country's name again, are not of same capacity as the Moroccan guys. The Morocco team is one of the promising African teams of recent times and they together with Egypt and sometimes Algeria do try their bests anytime they find themselves in these opportunities, much more than Nigeria does and probably Ghana too. The most disappointing team is the Nigerian team coming from the giant of Africa with quality players but unable to make a huge impact or difference in their jobs.

To start with, it doesn't feel like the AFCON have started, the atmosphere is like nothing big is happening. Well, watching Morocco play tonight doesn't feel like they are ready to make the other nations feel the heat they came with, in the first half Comoros did very well to hold the host nation to a draw and it was a brilliant save by the young shot stopper of Comoros, I said they did well because facing a stronger side as Morocco and getting a draw in the first half should be a morela booster since the host nation is stronger than them and they are also the favorite. Is so sad that Morocco had to struggle the way they did and I never saw that aggressiveness in them and they didn't dominate the game the way they're suppose to as the host nation, they should be all over the place knowing fully well that the country they're playing against doesn't have the chance of getting a draw but they allowed Comoros to see more of the ball, maybe in their next game Morocco will have to sit up.

Sorry for the mistake, Morocco reach the semi finals and lost against France. I thought it's the first arabi and first African country to reach this level in such an important championship. Since then, Morocco became the first team under the eyes of the whole world. It played great matches in many occasions and focused in strengthen the players abilities to play collectively. I think the match of start today said everything about what kind if Morroco performance we are enjoy this season.

Just like you, I also didn't watch the live game but was able to see the highlights of the game including the performances by some of the finest African artists before the commencement of the game. Firstly, I'm very happy that we'll be experiencing the CAF African Cup Of Nations feelings and everything that comes with it including the dramatic results.
The host nation who's also considered as one of the major favourites to win the competition started on a very good note with a resounding victory against Comoros. Can't wait to watch more games tomorrow.

The African Cup of Nations will now be played every four years. There have been discussions that Africa should synchronise its competition with other continents. CAF president Patrice Motsepe said harmonising the AFCON with other continental competitions is for the good of African football. AFCON has caused instability in some clubs because many African players would have to leave for the competition every two years. I think this is a good development.

I would say that too but we all know why they wanted it to be every four years,  it was stealing away the important views and moments they want for their top European competitions. I mean the AFCON pulled such great views and number the last time they had it organised.
Yeah, important African players are not being allowed to play important matches for their respective clubs through this way but it's all fine and dandy after all. We have three players from Manchester United in the African Cup of Nations, I'm wishing them nothing but the best.

I’m not sure it’s just the views and other things you mentioned or think. The AFCON Has been putting a lot of imbalance in football, it’s good they want to harmonise it now, it’s good for the players, it’s good for the clubs it’s good for the continent, it’s a welcome development.
Let’s not see it as us (Africans) trying to bend to the will of the Europeans and Americans.

The El Kaabi goal is going to be among the goal of the tournament, history has it that he has scored using the bicycle kick for almost ten times now which means that he's familiar with that kind of goal.

It was quite fascinating yesterday between these two teams, but it was not that competitive, since the strength and quality between both teams are miles apart.
And yes,  I did expected the Morocco team to score in the first half because they are not just the favourite, but they are also the host, so much expectations is on them for them not just to win this game, but also to win the tournament since they still have the same team that went to the semi finals if the world cup in 2022.
The two nil winning was very deserving, even though they miss a penalty in the first half, but congratulations to them for starting the competition with a win that is definitely going to burst their confidence going forward.

I was thinking it will going to be a tough openly game but Comoros performance make people to know that the game will favour Morocco, and indeed it ended 2:0 for Morocco to secured 3 points for their first game. If this is what Morocco will display in this African cup of nations it will be hard for Morocco to lift the trophy, because their strikers are not too active to use their opportunity to score 4 goals in the game despite the opportunity that created for the strikers but they managed scored 2 goals to secured victory.

Morocco dominant through out the game, because Comoros players are not strong enough to handle Morocco players compare to what Morocco players was showcasing to make their fans to relax their minds, because they know that Morocco will surely beat Comoros which they did.

Particular I am pleased with the announcement that the AFCON tournaments will now be held once in 4 years, this is one thing I have been advocating over the years. I kept telling my friends that this tournament that's being held ever 2 years doesn't make any sense to me because it will appear too common because of how frequent it is. Let it be held like the world cup and as Euros to enable the fans miss it thereby attaching more value to it. Am glad that CAF has finally seen reason to that. This will also open room for Africa players to be moving to big clubs in Europe. Before some big clubs in Europe don't like having more African players in their team because of how frequent they usually travel for nations cup. Also the AFCON should be held in the summer and not in winter.

Moroccans will be proud of their team and how they have developed in recent years. I am proud of that team even though I'm not a Moroccan, but I enjoy watching them play. Actually it was the semi finals of last world cup they got to not the final itself. That being said Morocco is still a team that developing there is room for more improvement, they can still be beaten but let's see if they can win the AFCON for the first time.
