South Africa have played their first match against Angola and the match ended in the favour of South Africa 2-1, I know South Africa will outperformed Angola because they are stronger. Another impressive game was played between Egypt and Zimbabwe and their scoreline is also 2-1, Marmoush and Mohammed Salah scored for Egypt, we know how talented thesr guys are in the club sidez I believe Egyptians will likely rely on them to lead them to success in this AFCON. Nigeria will play against Tanzania, I'm confident Nigeria will win this match easily.

Egypt Managed to beat Zimbabwe

Egypt managed to beat Zimbabwe in their opening match in AFCON. One important thing to note is that Mo Salah actually did score.
Another thing to look out for is how often Liverpool will win without Salah.
Another thing is how many goals Salah will be a le to score without Liverpool.
Maybe, this AFCON is going to provide the solution to Liverpool's poor performance.

So far, Liverpool won;
Egypt won;
Salah scored.
Let's keep the fingers crossed and watch.

Was thinking this same thing but yet again it could be that Salah's time at Liverpool is over and they don't need him anymore and again, Liverpool struggled to win their game and Egypt also struggled to win their first leg of their group. This doesn't show anything big for the big man Salah, I still see him playing like he does at Liverpool. I'm patiently waiting for the second game of that group to see Egypt game and Zimbabwe too let me see who's going to win their game.

The truth is that there's every indication that Salah is finally done with Liverpool or could become a bench warmer if he remains there. When he was called back to the team starting lineup shortly before the AFCON return, I only saw it as a marketing strategy as they're only presenting him to the market scouts and also trying to mask the beef between the club and him I. Ordered to get a good fortune for him.

Liverpool is going through a bad time and just like every other team bad times, someone has to blame for their sake of bad times and unfortunately, Salah is the Scape goat..

I don't understand why you said that Egypt struggled to win Zimbabwe because there's no single team that will fold hands this time to concede as many goals as possible. Egypt played a good game with a over 30 shots with 11 on the goal. Even though this stat is a betrayal to the credibility of the frontline but still, Salah redeemed himself in the 90+1 minute helping the team to come from behind to beat Zimbabwe. I still believe that Egypt will finish the group first and that's a good start.

That's true because they know how it will all turn out, playing him against Brighton after dropping him on the bench for about 3 to 4 games and he never travelled to Italy against Inter then they realized that if he missed the Brighton game it will send a bad signal outside since he was going for the AFCON a d again January is by the corner, so they would love to get something out from him but still I don't think that how to treat one of your own who have done so much for the club no matter what, take for instance how they treated Son on his last day for the club.
Salah made a mistake, when the whole blame arrow was finding the scapegoat he should have stayed quietike he has been doing and many people have been finding his reactions and questions are being asked what's his next move his future and all that, he was in control until the moment he made that mistake by playing along, too bad for him though.
You saw how they battled the game out right from when Zimbabwe got the opener, it wasn't how they expected for the opponent to break their defense like that and up front for the Egyptians, they were good and some of the runs Salah made wasn't seen at Liverpool which means he's gradually getting himself. Now to the game, if not foe that equalizer I don't think they would have gotten the second which means the pressure was too much for the Zimbabwe side to handle. Check how satisfied they were with the 1-1 draw before Salah got the winner, it almost happened to the host nation Morocco.

It was really exciting to see Salah play and score as well. It has not really being the best season for him in Liverpool with a long time no goal stream which has not happened in a long while but today he gave Egypt the win they needed.

Egypt 2 - 1 Zimbabwe. Apart from Zimbabwe first goal, Egypt totally dominating the match. It was basically one-sided and Egypt could score more goals. It was interesting to see Salah scoring a goal in that match too, especially when it was the winning goal.
Tomorrow Nigeria will have a game along with DR Congo, Tunisia and Senegal. All these teams are favourite to win in my opinion. Maybe Congo match in front of Benin might be the most challenging one if we supposed that Super Eagles will not fail their fans in front of Tanzania.

Honestly, after all the backlash in Liverpool and across so many media outlets, Salah's goal was not just a relief for Egypt alone but a relief for him too personally, he needed that to at least feel some sort of spark within him, because no feeing is bigger than the feeling of doing something great for your nation, it is a thing of pride. Clearly, yesterday the stronger team on the pitch was Egypt.. Zimbabwe was just struggling to keep up with the pace and if Egypt actually took their chances well enough then they could have add more goals. Let's see what today will bring between Nigeria vs Tanzania.

Does it really matter if Liverpool is going to win without Salah ? The most important thing is that Salah is playing well and Egypt manage to win the game, I think of Egypt have lost the game there will be a different agenda against Salah that he isn’t playing very well, for your information Liverpool have been loosing games with Salah, and haven’t lost since Salah was dropped to the bench.

Talking about how many goals Salah will score well I must say that nobody will know that and Salah himself will not know that at all, so when I look at the performance of the Egyptian team it was a good performance but they lacked that killer striker in the team.

Salah will be more motivated to win the Nations Cup, I saw a celebration from him that he used when he won the Premier League last season, that could be telling something more and different, I wish him a good tournament.

AFCON has kicked off on an interesting note and the most anticipated match lived up to expectation being between Egypt versus Zimbabwe, Egypt, was the clear better experienced and coordinated side than Zimbabwe. I'm glad that Salah, registered his name on the scoring sheet, I hope that he gets his goal scoring groove from this AFCON and be the Salah, that we all know.

I'm looking forward to the Nigerian match, I hope that they scale past Tanzania, like Egypt, did to Zimbabwe, it'll make our minds to be at ease that they will go far in this AFCON maybe even win it. Let us wait and see how it'll go just like we saw Egypt, and the rest of the teams that played yesterday.

It makes lots of sense and I love that cause it won't create much of a problem for clubs who's got many of African players in their squad, for instance Manchester United that got key players like Amad, Mbeumo and Mazraoui in their won't be featuring them today when they meet Aston Villa and it could be a problem for them cause of fatigue.
Manchester United's chances of losing the game today is extremely high. Mbeumo and Amad are key players for Manchester United.
The void of those players for Manchester United really had a bad effect on the squad performance against Aston villa, and for me it was already explained expected because right now Manchester United team is toothless without these key players and it's normal that they keep struggling with games for the moment.

This mentality holds weight best among African football players that are playing in some of those European leagues clubs, you can hardly find such attitude among the European players when they go to represent their national team, they give same energy they give to the club side of not more, it shows patriotism to the country. I think this orientation among African players should be dissuaded, and also, the sports federation should in their own responsibility give the players what's best for them, financially and morally support as they get in their clubs. All this together would actually make the performance of the games better.
Corruption is the problem. If more African countries have less corrupt officials, the attitude of players will improve and the level of competition will improve in the AFCON. In the near future, perhaps.
Perhaps you could be right. I mean you're right anyway, because the pile of corrupt officials in the continent is to high and coming home to the NFF as it affects us directly we can even see how the football federation is being handled. I think that alone can actually discourage players who really wanted to give their best to the green eagle badge. But what do you think can be done to lessen the number of corrupt officials in African football?

South Africa have played their first match against Angola and the match ended in the favour of South Africa 2-1, I know South Africa will outperformed Angola because they are stronger. Another impressive game was played between Egypt and Zimbabwe and their scoreline is also 2-1, Marmoush and Mohammed Salah scored for Egypt, we know how talented thesr guys are in the club sidez I believe Egyptians will likely rely on them to lead them to success in this AFCON. Nigeria will play against Tanzania, I'm confident Nigeria will win this match easily.
I am also confident about Nigerians performance against Tanzania because from the games you've analyzed above, it shows the obvious capacity of stronger teams over the less stronger teams and I also want to believe Nigerian super eagles will not disappoint in their appearances because now they have more time to do better unlike if they were still playing in the world cup, but they have already disappointed with the world cup ambition and I hope it should not repeat itself in the AFCON games.

A hard defeat to take from Zimbabwe, honestly I watched this game and I would say they deserved at least a point from this match. They scored very early in the game and they defended very well, even though Egypt were creating chances especially Marmoush but the Zimbabwe defense were clearing the but it ended in a defeat for them.

Goals from Marmoush and Mo Salah got Egypt all 3 points, it looked like it would ended in a draw but last minute salah goals got Egypt the important goal they needed and it ended in a 2-1 win for them.

Above all it was an entertaining football match to watch, the way Egypt played yesterday and possessed the ball very well I must say they are one of my favorites to win the AFCON this year. They are really a good and promising side.

A lot of actions to come today, well the AFCON have been interesting so far let see what it brings on today as even Nigeria will play their first match.

I love how Egypt won the match in the end, I like the way he kept the naysayers in doubt that he doesn't have much to offer in his age. He has done it before and he is doing it right now. I'm happy they did that to South Africa for making us going to play off in the world cup. What I love about Afcon is that players that think they can do better in clubs get humbled in the African cup of nation, I never expected the game to favour Egypt until I see that goal.

Nigeria and Tanzania will be playing today, I'm invested in this match but I don't understand why some of our celebrities are sponsored by Stake to bet on this match. I saw a bet slip by Davido from stake, he bet $25k on Nigeria and Tanzania both to score. That means he thinks Tanzania can push Nigeria go to the wall. I mean if we want to patriotism, why not bet on Nigeria to win. It's going to motivate a lot of people to support Nigeria.

Egypt totally dominated the game was clearly the better side in that game. Looking at their performance as well as the number of attempts made at scoring a goal, it's quite surprising on how they ended up scoring just two goals. The second goal coming just in the nick of time to help them win the game in the end. It would have been a shame for Egypt if they had gotten a draw in the game despite all they had managed to put in.
Nigeria vs Tanzania is another game to watch and I do hope Nigeria can claim the win in that game. They look good enough to score goals and win that game. Hopefully, they can get an early goal and boost the morale of the lads.

As expected, Mo Salah rescued his team from sharing points with Zimbabwe, he's a great player and deserves to be praised, he scored an important later minute goal to put Egypt in front. Salah and Marmoush are two important players in the Premier League and im not surprised thst they're the ones who rescued their team.

 That's true it was an interesting match and I love that Zimbabwe didn't lose without a fight, they gave their all and even score the opening goal but Egypt as favourites proved why they're one of the best AFCON team and came back from a goal down to win, i just love that Mo Salah won his first game, I hope Osimhen helps Nigeria win against Tanzania too.

It might be a hard defeat for them to accept but the better side won, they scored very early in the game but instead of them to keep on playing that way, they decided to fall back and park the bus, thinking that they can shut the Egyptian out, but they fail to do so because the attacking force of the Egyptian team was too strong for them to handle, so the Egyptian team was the deserving winner in this game, even though they started the game poorly.

With what I saw from our super eagles in their world cup qualifying games, I did expect them to win this tanzania national team, but this is football, you are favourite doesn't guarantees anything, but if I would be staking on this game, I will be going with the options of Nigeria to win or draw.

Yesterday's Egypt match should serve as a reminder of how gamblers should approach their bets. They were favored to win, but during the 90 minutes of play, Zimbabwe showed how football should be played on the field.
Nigeria vs. Tanzania will also be difficult to predict. I think Nigeria will win, and it won't be as difficult as Egypt defeating Zimbabwe.

I think people are the one trying to create agenda over this saga by bringing stats like that. Mo Salah as a player is an individual and Liverpool is a team with a group of players that work together to win. It doesn't make sense making comparison between an individual and a group. With or without Salah, Liverpool can remain and win matches, draw or lose some as well. Liverpool is never a permanent club for him and we shouldn't be creating unnecessary stats. Egypt won yesterday with a late goal from Mo Salah but this is possible with the help of his teammates. If Liverpool is tired of working with him, we should let them be and Salah should quietly move on. Salah is a great player that most teams would like to offer contract once he makes himself available.

Osimhen, Iwobi, Lookman, and several other names I know from playing in popular leagues will certainly not underestimate Tanzania. To avoid misunderstanding, the Egyptian players also do not underestimate Zimbabwe.
Nigeria, with the experience of players like those I mentioned, will likely be urged by their coach to pursue an early goal to secure the match without pressure. Eric Chelle must be aware that teams in the same group as Nigeria, such as Tunisia, could also be strong competitors, given that there aren't many group stage matches to play. If they don't capitalize on even the smallest opportunities, it will honestly be difficult to secure the top two positions.

 Dr Congo were able to beat Benin earlier today in the Group D and I must say they deserved to get all three points especially as they were not just the better side but they seemed to have more control of the ball and the game. The early goal from Theo Bogonda in the 16th minutes ensured that the three points was theirs although Cedric Bakambu scored a goal in the 47th minutes of the second half but it was chopped off for offside.
 Genort Rohr would need to school his boys better if they hope to go far in this competition because they played below average football, only managing to get their first shot on target in the 65th minutes which was a weak shot if we're being honest

So far, Liverpool won;
Egypt won;
Salah scored.
Let's keep the fingers crossed and watch.
A good late winner for Egypt, they did well in the match and were lucky to get a late goal from Moh Sallah to make it 2-1 which completed the comeback because they were losing 1-0 at first half. Zimbabwe did well in the first half, but were scared if Egypt in the second half which made them concede two goals to lose their opening match.

I don’t think Liverpool’s performance should be related Moh Sallah now, they claim they can do without him because they even had misunderstanding few weeks back when he was benched and they won their match, so they have all it takes to win their matches because the team have more team, they just have to learn how to play without him because relying on him is one of the reasons they are not performing really well.
