Algeria was in another level as they were dominant in through out the game. Marez really showed class in the game two goals in the opening game is a good one to start the tournament. Algeria is one of the best teams in the continent from what I see them play against sudden today. Even though Sudan is not yet up there we saw the quality of Algeria when ever they are with the ball.

Algeria had a great game, and I was so disappointed by the Sudanese performance. Their defense was in shambles, they were constantly losing balls, and they were also one man down. Algeria had every reason to win by that margin. In fact, I expected more from them. I'm sure they would qualify for the knockout stages, and it's then we'll know how good they are.

The second rounds of games in the group stage of the African nations cup will be a bigger test than the first rounds of games, I think the South Africa vs Morocco game will be interesting and also the Nigeria and Tunisia game will be entertaining as well.
In general there will be more difficult games for the bigger nation than they received in the first rounds of games. .so far the African nations cup has done well and already the club football are missing this players.

The news that has been circulating around our local news online this after, is that of a clergyman who before the AFCON said a particular Nigerian player will not help his team Nigeria in this tournament. That was a bold move or should I say talk from him. Of course you know how they do it or say it, that God told them to. Nigeria's first game was against Tanzania and we all know what happens in every cup games group stages of 3 matches, winning 2 matches automatically qualifiers you for the next stage, right now Nigeria has one win and another win will solidify their place in the Rounds of 16. Nigeria won 2 - 1 in their opening match and guess who scored the opening goal, same Ademola Lookman. People went to bash on the clergymen after the game and just today, he claims he was misunderstood, that the tournament hasn't gone far yet that it's just starting we should wait. Ok, but again, is the game against Tanzania not part of the tournament?

If I am not mistaken, this isn't the first time a clergyman has said something about the Nigerian national team, and it didn't come to pass. It's so difficult to find a real man of God,  so Nigerians shouldn't take what the clergyman said about Ademola Lookman seriously because the clergyman just wants to trend, and the only way he believes he could trend is by saying Ademola Lookman won't be helpful to the Nigerian national team.

It's so obvious about his intentions and as widely said, it's not the first time that these men come to say prophecy concerning football meanwhile In actual sense they are just making predictions. Someone here said he knows Nigeria won't win the trophy so his saying this on time so that when they finally get knocked out, he will claim that his already said it earlier. If course we know all these tactics by them, we have long gone past this kind of talks concerning men like these. Someone in the comment section said, "pastor game done cut" I was glad after Lookman scored that goal, because his talks about the young man didn't really settle and he proved him wrong just 2 or 3 days later.

Even if you do not see anything special about the super eagles of Nigeria, it will not stop them from being among the big boys in the Afcon tournament because the super eagles earned the name long before now, and they do not need you to see something special in them to be named among the big boys in the ongoing Afcon tournament. You should know that there are some coaches whose parttern is to gain possession and win the game and there are some coaches who reply on counter attack to win a match, so it is not possible for every team to play the same pattern.

I think this correct in the past time the super eagles guy have already created that past glory ever since I just feel that tge NFF are all the cause of all this thing….i just have to say we should down grade them at some point the Super eagles are know for strength, well I think should be a top lead of this game to keep it a personal belief….sometime it all good to encourage them in anyway because it good to see our super eagles suffer this season…the NFF should do a job well done for more wins…

From my view, i already saw this coming and expected that Algeria should beat Sudan because i check on their formations and how their players were committed to steadfast while on the pitch, though this may not be the only reason to hold onto, but we should assume that things were better more productive when the players works in coordination together and when we check on each team history of performance.

Can we appreciate and give credit to where it's due? We don't have any other super eagles than the one NFA selected to represent us in the Afcon. If they loss that game, I'm sure many people are going to say they are this and that but they won, there mistakes but all can be ignored since they won the game and everything settled, even Tunisia that is among the group stage with us made some mistake but they won too and that leave us with more fight.

I'm paying attention to Morocco too, Hakimi won the last CAF and everyone was complaining that the award wasn't a deserved one but common look at them even without Hakimi. If he comes back from the injury before the main groups, this league is going to be super exciting than the way it's now. Meanwhile, Osimhen was no where to be found but if it's Galatassaray, he will do baclift line 1000 times to score bicycle kick for them.

One thing about football is that when a team loses, individual errors are more magnified compared to when the team is winning. The last line of your post is very funny but it’s a sentiment that every Nigerian shares. We want Osimhen to be the best version of himself, at least the one we see play for Galatasaray and Napoli but we don’t always get that Osimhen in the national team. And the same goes for the other players as well. So far, Lookman has been performing well in the tournament.

This is crazy. I’m just learning about this story now. Religion is indeed a big problem in Africa, anyone can wake up and appoint themselves as clergymen without having to worry about due process. I have read stories of pastors predicting crypto prices, and most recently one who predicted the end of the world was going to be today. Yet I’m here in my room typing this message. It’s silly that there are people who believe that religion/spirituality interferes with football. Now that Lookman scored against Tanzania, the so called prophet is still going take credit that his prayers changed the outcome of the game.

You just said the truth. Because of the way the hot prophet are making money in the African scene. Everyone wants to becomes pastor and prophets. And because of the way they are doing things (lying) people are not believing them any more and only those who are eager for someone and specifically women. I thought the second round match-up was suppose to be between Egypt and South Africa as well as the Nigeria v Tunisia.

For the Egypt v South Africa It's going to be a very interesting game where two big teams in the Africa ecosystems will be facing each other, for me I feel like Egypt have been a little bit shaky in there last matches but South Africa are currently on there 11 games undefeated streak, well anything can happen but South Africa are looking like the more favorable side.

Then for the Nigeria v Tunisia, let's just say Nigeria will be lucky to get a win over that Tunisia squad, this Tunisia team has been frightening, they always come through in big competitions and moments, they even qualified for the 2026 World Cup, it's not going to be an easy one.

This doesn't only happen in Nigeria; it happens all over Africa. For example, in my country, Mozambique, the prophets are paid by the government to speak ill of the opposition parties. They brainwash their followers so that believers worship the corrupt and thieving government of my country. They even stoop to the low level of going out on the road and saying they prayed a lot and performed miracles so that from that day forward, there would be no more car accidents, but the next day the car accidents continue. The funny thing is that in 2021, when COVID was strong, all these prophets hid in their homes to avoid being infected.

I think the AFCON has been really interesting with a lot of goals and I am still expecting more from this competition. The both games that you have mentioned promised to be very entertaining  and I am predicting Morocco to win against South Africa,  although South Africa is a tough opponent  and they will definitely give Morocco a run for their money, but I expect Morocco to edge them. The game between Nigeria and Tunisia will also be interesting, I should have gone for Nigeria to win, but sometimes you really can't trust them, so I will be going for goals rather than predicting any team to win.

Normally in most tournaments, the second round of every group stage is usually tougher and more competitive because every team will want to play to top the table in their respective groups and that will ignite the real battle in the pitch, especially if the two teams facing each other are heavyweights in their own right and it will also give the fans clear idea about which team are truly ready to move to the knockout stage.

Egypt played very well in the first game, their attack looked very good and that could be a problem for South Africa. Maybe If South Africa will approach that game without fear, and not just come into the game to defend, they could be able to upset the Egyptians and force them into dropping points.

Nigeria against Tunisia, I think that game will end in a draw for the two teams. I do not see Tunisia as a country that Nigeria is capable to win. I do not think we play well enough.

What we have here is a continent  that’s plagued with bad governments that manipulate her people through xenophobia, bigotry, tribalism, and religious control. South Africa has been playing quite a stable game, I like the way they transition from defence to attack and that's going to be a problem for the Egypt side, but the Egypts attack is to no joke with Marmoush leading the attack and Salah also there, this spells danger for the South Africa team, overall this match is going to be hard to predict but it's going to be a very interesting one.

For Nigeria v Tunisia, I know that Tunisia has been a menace but Nigeria should not be underrated also, although Osimhen was not pressing as usual but we can see something click with Iwobi, he is now playing as expected, so with the Nigerians quality and the zeal to win since they couldn't qualify for the World Cup 26, I think Nigeria can scale through.

During round two, I see some highly interesting games between good teams in the upcoming days.
Tomorrow Egypt will face South Africa in one of the most tough matches so far. Obviously Egypt look the favourite here but we should not underestimate South Africa too. The odds are 1.9 - 4.9. I don't understand why the odds of South Africa looks like that.
Morocco - Mali is one-sided match in my opinion. In the past Mali used to be better than now. Their only chance is to have a referee finishing the match prematurely once they score the first goal
In the day after, there is Senegal vs Congo Nigeria vs Tunisia. The first teams in these games are favourite with better odds. For Nigeria, it depends from the form of the players that day.
In Sunday, there will be another interesting match between Ivory Coast and Cameroon with the latter having less chance to win.

I'm glad that people are opening their eyes now to see that these false prophets are nothing but scammers, I don't take them and their prophecies seriously because they have failed many times. These scammers makes wild guesses and if it comes to pass they will want to take all the glory that they already foresee it happening. Assuming Lookman, fumbled in that game he would have been bragging that he foretold what would happen. I'm glad that Ademola Lookman, shined in that game against Tanzania, and even scored to put the false prophet fake prediction about him to ridicule. This fake men of God have deceived Nigerians for too long and it's time to be calling them out for their scams.
