After the AFCON, Xabi Alonso will give priority to the attacking midfielder Brahim Díaz because he is doing a great job for Morocco. No doubt, Diaz has been performing exceptionally in the AFCON. This is not even the first time he's performing so well. Even before now, especially during their regular qualifications, I always do a follow up on the Moroccan national team, to see if he's part of the squad or if he scored. But for some reasons, I just can't understand why he doesn't get that first place opportunity in club level. I'm not even sure of how often he comes from the bench. This same thing also happened while Ancelotti was still their manager. From his few games that I have watched, no doubt, he's a good player. I believe he has what it takes to be among the top 7 highest goal scorers in this competition.

Diaz scored a goal from a penalty and there is four players in front of him that scored four goals. It is not bad as a beginning. Morocco is struggling and the game will end by a draw most likely. Sikazwe must be bored watching the horrible long injury time. I should say that I didn't expect to see Morocco failing to collect 3 points from Mali. So far only Egypt guaranteed passing to the next stage regardless of the remaining game result.

I'm really impressed with Diaz in this competition he is doing well and maybe this performance will get the attention of Xabi Alonso to give him more playing time. The AFCON has been interesting so far with lots of impressive performance and from teams and players individually. I think Morocco will come out on top.

You sound so sure about that. There are players already doing well in his position so I don't think Alonso will give him priority just by performing well in the AFCON. Performing well in the AFCON doesn't mean he will perform well at the club, to get a spot at the club he needs to prove himself at the club as well.

As for Morocco winning the competition, I think it's too early to predict who to win. Yes they are doing well but let's see how it goes as. Most teams will become serious as the competition progresses to tougher stage which is the knockout stages.

Song had picked other African players like Mbuemo, Wan Bissaka, and others as world class but none of the Nigerian players. Song had backed his opinion saying that the players he mentioned are playing in the World Cup. Personally, I think this is an attempt to gain relevance and trend on social media, nothing more.

Everybody is subjected to their opinion, and they have their own point of view, so we can’t stop them from saying it, but is he also a world class player before he retire from football?

This is a question for himself, if he can answer that, then he can decide who is a world class player and who is not because the World Cup he is trying to use to judge is not a criteria because none of these players have good World Cup games already, so we can’t accept this as fact because the whole world knows Osimhen and Lukuman, so everybody is subjected to their opinion.

Let’s see how this AFCON will end, we will rate the respective players and decide who is a world class and who is not.

I doubt anyone considers Song as a world class player in his era. Most of the podcasts and interviewers want views so they invite the most controversial guests they know will say something ridiculous that will make them trend. IMO the AFCON doesn’t have an impact on whether or not a player is world class, their performances in club football and trophies won is enough to make a point.

How is that even possible? How will a player wins the title for a team, AFCON is not a weak tournament which we will say Salah is the only star player playing in the tournament, we have other countries that have top players also, so I will tell you that a player cant win a title for a country. If a club or country wants to make achievements, then it’s a collective work, every player has role to play, it’s cant be done alone by a player.

Salah started the AFCON well, he is really determined, but am not so satisfied with Egypt overall performance, they were just lucky that they scored their goal before they received red card in the match, and after the red card, they blocked their defense and didn’t allow South Africa to penetrate. Salah played well, let’s just hope his fellow team mates will support him.

If there wasn’t anything like VAR the referee would have not giving the penalty to Mali. I think it was obvious, the referee was close to the bad tackle, I saw it, so the referee was close enough to see it and give it and if VAR should be needed it will be to check if it wasn’t a penalty.
The home fans pressure can make referee to blow favoring the Moroccan team.

By just looking at the picture, I was just going to be mad at Song and remind him the flop defence he made for Cameroon before retirement until I read the description or text about the picture.
If by going to the world cup is his personal and only criteria of deciding a world class player, his judgement should be correct. Let be honest it's unfair in the place that Salah is being relegated to in the Liverpool team and after watching how he performed in this AFCON game against South Africa, giving his nation the only goal to victory. I think it would be a whole lot of shame on Liverpool should Salah take his national team to the AFCON finals and even winning it after he hasn't being getting those playing time in his club as he ought to. On the Egyptian team entirely, it was a wonderful victory despite the red card they still secured all 3 points.

I was actually going through the league table, and I can tell that Nigeria has a better chance, but the Super Eagles need to be on their feet to better deliver themselves with good performances to make sure they win their matches, which would lead them to the finals. Looking at the table and the group stage team, the Eagles do not have any reason to lose any matches, as their opponents are not as strong as they are. They just need to improve and make sure they do well to score a goal, which would keep them ahead of their mates.

Unfortunately, the English media do not care much for the AFCON so Mo Salah wins the golden boot, it wouldn’t affect his reputation in English football. Also I feel like Arne Slot has a personal vendetta against Mo Salah and there is nothing Salah can do in this tournament that will secure him as a starter on Slot’s team. It is very possible that his time at Liverpool will soon come to an end.
