It’s incredibly difficult once a gambler develops an addiction. Usually, they struggle to control themselves because it has become a deep-seated habit, especially when they don’t apply any limits to the money they gamble.

To resolve this, I believe it’s going to be a long process. They didn't become addicts overnight; it took days, months, or even years before they
reached that state. Healing and breaking that habit will take time as well.

It isn't easy to get away from being an addict. It most time involve personal convinction. The day you accept you already become an addict, your problem is half-way solve. Just that most gambling addict doesn't believe they they become a betting addict

I know of someone who is so addicted in gambling.who spend his time and all his money in gambling.
Which he is finding difficult to stop or control, irrespective of the consequences that surrounds it, such as relationship issues,lack of finance and emotional breakdown,many people go through so many risks just to be able to fund that lifestyle and majority of them are using gambling as there day to day activities (they make it their job) this set of people or person can loss friends, family and relationship.
Because all there focuses are on gambling, when you come across this kind of people. "all you need is to counsel them" because it's beneficial

Counseling an addict is easy but them stopping is another thing. Most of the gambling addict you see in the society today where once or trice counceld but however they still continued. And morover it is not a most that anyone who faces such gambling addiction problem must be counceld, tht should be an act of willingness and love because a person who doesn't love you will not do such thing. In life everyone is minding their business, so there is no one that is responsible to to do that except if you have the desire to care.

In the recovery process for gambling addicts, support from others is definitely needed, especially from family. But in reality, there are quite a few cases where gamblers become increasingly depressed when they lose everything, including support from their family.

When all kinds of support are lost, including that of family, the problem of addiction can worsen more rapidly It's something I wouldn't wish on anyone, Once a person falls into addiction, anything that can help is very necessary and welcome. I hope that people in that situation have enough money to pay specialists and professionals to help them.

Frequency of gambling too can also add to addiction and not just gambling without some forms of budget and risk management, some one who gambles without much frequency, i mean they do not visit the casino often, they are more likely to not get addicted as much as those who often visit the casino, be it online or offline. if you visit often, the chances are that you will soon gamble without budget or risk management but with impulse. so for me i just see it that it is mostly a thing of frequency before other habit will gradually creep in as addiction does comes with so many other habits that you will sometimes need to mange else it helps the addiction grow even more.

Many gambling addict you see today, most of them became addicted to gambling as a result of lack of understanding. Addicted gamblers dont easily accept advice and they cant even keep to their own decisions, this is why pnd needs to understand gambling very well because when one male mistake to the point of being addicted it is always difficult.

Most people that are addicted today are just after momey, they had wrong understanding about gambling, most of them believe gambling is just a place where you come, you gamble and you will be rich already, but they don’t know things don’t work like that. Most addicted gamblers are brainwashed by their fellow addicted gamblers, that’s why even when one of them is about to give up, they are always motivating the person to keep on gambling, and will end up hitting jackpot.

No matter what you tell addicted gambler, they just going to take you as a fool, and make you feel like you don’t even have knowledge about what you saying, they take you as a bad person.

Discipline undoubtedly plays a big role in keeping a person's life on the right track, disciplined behavior can get us out of many bad habits, but the help of professionals or experts is definitely needed. Especially in the case of gambling addiction, when we are already addicted to it, our only way is to always work with the right mindset, be careful and always be disciplined. When someone becomes addicted to gambling, if discipline, family support and necessary professional help work together without neglecting him, then the chances of getting out of the addiction increase many times.

I agree that discipline is very important but I think discipline alone does not always work. People with gambling addiction often deny their problem, and then no matter how many rules are made, they break it. In that case family support and giving someone from outside to talk to can be very helpful, In my opinion the best results come when people start asking for change themselves and also get professional guidance. Discipline then becomes a habit rather than a pressure. It is more realistic to move forward with support than to fight alone.

But both in my opinion are bad and can make a mess of survival, addiction of any concept is a bad thing. Neither is better, both lead to the destruction of life. Addiction to gambling is one of them caused by excessive behavior, but I think with those who pursue dopamine or to satisfy their own desires, I think there is also a sense of wanting to win.

Gambling addiction which is also known as compulsive gambling is an impulse-control disorder. If you’re a compulsive gambler, you can’t control the desire to gamble, even when it has negative consequences, and that the odds are against you, you still press on just because you can’t afford to lose out completely.

Furthermore, you can also have a gambling problem without being totally out of control.
Addiction in gambling is any gambling behavior that disrupts your life. If you’re preoccupied with gambling, spending more and more time and money on it, chasing losses, or gambling despite serious consequences in your life, you have a gambling problem. And it is addiction.

There are players who know how to win smart and withdraw their winnings when they can. Such players are much fewer, but they do exist. Addiction most likely develops from uncontrolled gambling, when a player bets more than they can afford to lose, then tries to win it back, and ends up in endless attempts to win it back. Even if they have some good days, it's not enough to win it all back, and the cycle repeats. The most important thing is to avoid this, and not bet more than you can afford to lose.

I don't think it's a good idea if you come across to a random guy or even your friends to give them some advice, but I think it's more beneficial if you help him to go for rehab than just counselling him to help him become a better person.

Giving advice won't help much, but for rehab it would help much to get rid of gambling addiction.
However, if there are no rehab facilities nearby, maybe helping him to go for a vacation far from the casino while counselling him might be a good option to help him to get rid of the addiction.

For a person that cares to listen, advising them is a starting point to helping them because what you would be advising on is about the dangers of what they have gotten into as gambling addict. And it's only by a realisation of the dangers from how you may have given the advice that they would be willing to agree on going for a rehab as the next solution or the vacation where rehab facilities ain't available.

I think advise is enough for them to stop their frequent gambling behavior. If you are not part of the person's family, their is nothing you can do than to advise them. Every gambler should be responsible for their own gambling addiction and we shouldn't worry too much about how a gambler choose to gamble with their money.

Advice is never enough, dude. As family members to some gambling addicts we know, it's their responsibility to handle their gambling activities, but since they fail to do that, we can give them a helping hand by giving them advice and, at the same time, try to make sure they follow up with it. Some advice without a little pressure on those you give the advice to might never yield any result, especially when it comes to an addicted gambler.
