Addiction is repetitive gambling not gambling once or twice a year. Those who gamble once or twice in a long time can be categorized under irresponsible gamblers but that Addicted gambler with consistent habit is worse because their accumulative effect over a long time can be more drastic compared to those who barely gamble but gamble huge amount of money. Gambling addiction is the worst experience or thing any gambler can get themselves into at first it might seen controllable and you know what you're doing but as time goes on the quest to chasing your loses start and you end up trapped with that ideology of revenge.
Which is the worse thing that will happen to any one, which will damage their emotions and their view towards gambling, which people are ought to make sure they are gambling with the money they can afford to lose and have the understanding that its important to walk away from gambling, which is consider to be a responsible gambling.

Both methods seem unnecessary to me, because betting a small amount or a large amount every day means you are addicted to gambling; it can be called excessive addiction. Even if you gamble a small amount every day, it can gradually increase your amount when you get used to gambling. Gambling is never a good idea to do regularly, as it provides entertainment. We can gamble anytime; there is no specific time frame. I am gambling a maximum of 1-2 days weekly, especially on my weekly off day. Sometimes, due to my busy schedule, I can gamble once a month. I don't have a fixed schedule for gambling every day or on certain days. Gambling big amounts in a year seems ridiculous to me and a big risk.
Addiction is not concerned with the amount of the bet but the regularity and attitude to it. It is the habit that is hazardous in the long run. whether people are staking small or large sums per day. Being small might be a good way to gain confidence and to increase the stakes. which is how most people lose control without even knowing it. It is far safer to treat gambling as amusing entertainment. as it is. every now and then. The absence of a regular system and making it a rare occurrence is useful in keeping it in check and making it less of a habit.

You have a good point regarding the issue of occasional gambling and an actual addiction. I concur that addiction cannot be determined by the amount of one needs to gamble at a particular time but the predictability and loss of control over time. Even minor. frequent betting may accumulate to severe financial and psychological harm. Chasing losses in particular is a very perilous concept. since it forms a loop that is extremely difficult to get out of and in most cases results in bigger issues. Although any huge. infrequent losses are damaging. a habitual pattern will wear down the funds and psyche gradually. In that regard. habitual gambling is much more devastating and difficult to recuperate.

The amount to bet will depend on the financial condition of the gambler. If anyone bets beyond his ability, it becomes a large amount, and the risk increases. If the gambler gambles within his ability, can control his emotions, and does not make gambling a way of earning, then gambling will not be harmful to him. Then, even if it is a habit, it will not turn into an addiction. Sometimes, if he wants, he can also take break from gambling for a few days. That is why it is very important to always keep control on emotion .

I agree with you that we cannot really say that someone who gambles once or twice in a year is an addicted gamblers because addiction to me means consistently gambling without the control to know when to stop, in that case someone who gambles very few times in a year with amounts that is very big is irresponsible gambling because they use amount that they cannot afford to loose. Addiction is mostly about that urge to be in a casino everytime even when it's not convenient to do so you will keep going until you become addicted. The best form of gambling is using small amounts and gamblinng only when you want to and the time must be very convenient for you.

In my opinion, it all starts with our perspective on gambling only then does it lead to our emotions and those emotions will peak if we hold a misguided view such as believing that gambling is a way to make money and find it hard to accept the reality of losing, which in turn affects our emotions. Another issue is that many people still bet with money they can’t afford to lose, and this too may stem from a misguided view of gambling from the start.

Of course the more you do it, the more likely you get addicted with it. Gambling with small bets is fine, but when you do it everyday, the amount you use over the year could just be similar with the one gambling only once or twice a year but with bigger money.
So it would look like when it comes to the overall money spent on gambling, they’ll be equal. But the amount of exposure on gambling is way different.
For the one who only gambles twice a year with huge amount, it’s more like a big risk taker rather than a gambler. Cause they’re willing to drop huge amount in one go. And then they’ll take a break for a year and will just come back again after.

You have made a very valid point concerning the addiction to gambling. particularly in the way it progresses and evolves. developing into a habit as time goes by and the harmful practice of gambling to recover the losses. Addiction is not necessarily dependent on frequency of gambling. it is rather about loss of control and getting emotional when a person gambles. Although every time one indulges in gambling, it may not be irresponsible. it is really dangerous when a person starts thinking that he or she can win by taking more bets. It is that revenge mentality that lures most gamblers and what would seem to be a manageable situation turns into a vicious cycle. Ultimately the addiction to gambling is so destructive because of the obsessive nature and inability to control.

I’ve never really thought about placing bets once or twice a year before but doing it just a few times in a year is different from gambling regularly and it may not lead to addiction. When someone gambles regularly, different kinds of curiosity and the urge to recover losses start to build up, so compared to that, betting once or twice a year feels better to me. Even though there is no guarantee of winning or losing, it still seems better than playing regularly and pushing yourself toward addiction.

I would not call this kind of attitude gambling because by betting once or twice a year you are only testing your luck. And any person can satisfy his curiosity to test this luck. If there is a tendency to bet more than once a month, we can call it a limited stage of gambling, but this number of bets over the course of a year is very limited. Every month you can set a budget for gambling and refrain from gambling outside this budget. Whenever you start to feel the urge to gamble outside this budget, you should assume that you are moving towards an addictive stage and you should gamble more controlled.

I share your opinion that occasional betting, such as once or twice a year is more of a form of entertainment and is unlikely to result in addiction. The actual danger comes on the recurrence of gambling. as habitual gambling can develop. emotional bonding and the desire to win back. It is that attitude of chasing losses that will often lead to compulsive behavior. Finally not just the frequency of betting is important. but also the attitude and discretion. When it remains occasional and moderate. the chances of addiction are far lesser in general.

I'd look for a third option here: making small and infrequent bets. Yes, I realize my answer goes beyond the suggested ones, but let's be honest: if you don't have a good winning strategy, you're just slowly throwing your money away. Yes, it might be enjoyable and perhaps exactly what you dream of, but trust me: throwing money away can be more beneficial. It's better to test your strategy than to simply lose money.

Good point mate, setting aside funds for gambling either monthly or weeks is a smart move because one would stay disciplined and also gamble responsibly so the budgeted money for funds won’t be executed but as soon as we start sensing the urge to gamble more aside our budgeted funds then one need to apply strong discipline to themselves not to fall into such trap because when we fall into such abyss then it will be very difficult to restrain back from such addiction. Gambling responsibly helps to structured our journey and it helps provide self discipline that we can wouldn’t just gamble anyhow without strategies because when we do then our budgeted funds can easily be liquidated even before the months ends.

Addiction is something that can be compelling for you to do more without your awareness thinking that it's fun for you to gamble or do other irational things that are quite entertaining to the body with bigger consequences. I think gambling is more addictive to smoking because their are so many ways you can help yourself as a smoker which the smoke is not going to affect you for too long. Gambling addiction has huge consequences but there are people that are still taking it for granted.
Addiction is something that can push you to do things you don't want to do. The son of a friend of mine, who unfortunately took drugs, went so far as to steal the family's gold from the house in order to pay for drugs. Do you understand what addiction can do? it can make you a monster.

The question of which habit is worse does not really apply to addiction. but the extent to which it can dictate the behavior of a person. Both gambling and smoking can be extremely addictive. but in different senses smoking is through chemical addiction and gambling is more psychological as it is related to risk and reward. I do not deny that gambling may result in a quicker monetary and emotional harm but smoking may result in severe long-term medical problems. as well As illustrated in your example, addiction can lead one to an extreme that is not in line with their values. Eventually. any addiction is hazardous when it dominates a life of a person and his/her choices.

Gambling addiction is as dangerous as addiction to a unique thing, different people can be addicted to different things, many are addicted to gambling, and there are many people who are addicted to drugs. However, addiction is what puts people in danger, the person becomes addicted to the thing that they do repeatedly. And those who lose control over themselves quickly become addicted, such as those who lose control over the principle of gambling, those who lose control over this principle will reach the goal of addiction. Therefore, self-control is the most important, those who can control themselves do not easily reach the goal of addiction.

Addiction to anything, it can take a very terrible form, of course in the case of gambling and drugs if we become addicted then it will definitely lead us to destruction, because these are directly related to our finances and physical condition. It will not take long for our economic situation to be destroyed, addiction forces people to commit crimes, it leads them to a situation from which they can never return to normal, and they lose everything, so it is only our own responsibility to protect ourselves from this.
