Why is Bitcoin hard for people to understand?

I've noticed that very few people truly understand Bitcoin or see what I see in it. I've always wondered why it's so hard for people to grasp the essence of Bitcoin.
Yesterday, I came across a really good video that explains why it's so difficult for people to understand Bitcoin.

From the first minutes, I can say that the case is truly that BTC is something so different from anything else that everybody who is not familiar searches for patterns: it's digital gold, it's kind of digital stocks, and so on..

The main reason some people do not understand bitcoin is because they do not care about it, they do not want to know about it. If they want to know about bitcoin, only simple information is what they need.

First is that bitcoin has just limited supply. That will later make it scarce, its price will increase more because of that. This information first can make them be eager to learn more about bitcoin.

People do not need the technical parts of bitcoin but just the investment part and also reading about bitcoin security and safety.

The internet is open for everyone to have access to proper helpful information on bitcoins but some people have not put enough focus or dedication into trying to learn the intricacies of bitcoin. Most persons are lazy and are rather just depending on the knowledge that other people have. The knowledge that people have on bitcoin may not be complete and one for you to understand, so if you take their opinions strictly, understanding some simple concepts may be become thoroughly difficult to achieve.

Another set of persons have already concluded even before making attempts that they will not be able to understand bitcoin and what it really is because of how complex it looks, their assumptions is limiting them.

Why is Bitcoin hard for people to understand?

To be honest, I've long had the impression that most people have very poor basic knowledge of computers and the internet, which means that apart from knowing how to turn on computers and launch a browser, everything else is too much for them. How will you explain Bitcoin to someone who doesn't even have the basic knowledge to understand that something can be useful and valuable without having to be something physical?

Even if a person understands such things, most will still tell you that Bitcoin as a currency doesn't make sense to them because it's volatile, because they have nowhere to pay with it, and even because they don't want to have something that's only used by criminals and that pollutes the planet.

In conclusion, people are uneducated, and they also have prejudices based on years of mainstream media writing that were mostly critical of everything to do with Bitcoin. In the end, most people don't want to go beyond having a plastic bank card and a PIN, which is far simpler than being your own bank, right?

Bitcoin is not hard to know, if all of us hear were once a noob about bitcoin and got to this far, then any other person can achieve the same or even more once they were able to pay attention to learning and have such zeal coming from within their mind, it may take time, procedures and extra efforts, but still worth it, it's a choice and everyone determines on what they get from it by what they have given into it.

Most people (especially beginners) see bitcoin primarily as a "magic wand" for solving all financial problems.

In order to understand the essence of bitcoin, you need to stop seeing it as just an "easy and fast" way to earn money and understand the technological essence of it (as well as the financial one, which is also quite unique).

It is difficult for people to "restructure" their thinking after the traditional financial system to understand the "essence" of bitcoin, and also, for a better understanding they need to have some technical thinking, without which it is difficult to comprehend all the "nuances" of the essence of btc.

They feel that understanding Bitcoin is difficult. Besides that, they don't want to search for more about Bitcoin so it will be difficult for them to learn Bitcoin. It needs more attention to grasp the essence of Bitcoin so they can start to use Bitcoin with right. Indeed, Bitcoin, if seen and learned, it is difficult to understand for those who are ordinary, it does not only happen on YouTube, in real life too, it is very difficult to give a real understanding.

People can't just only read/hear what people said like Bitcoin is decentralized and so on, because where's the proof if it's really decentralized? in this case they have to dig and understand the technical part to prove it. This is where most people not able/want to do it, they have to spend a good amount of effort and time.

In general, people only trust what they read on websites, hence we see many people think CEX is safe and all altcoins are decentralized just because it's a "cryptocurrency".

Bitcoin is hard for people to understand because most people are used to value they can see and touch like cash gold or even a bank card when you try to explain something digital that doesn’t have a physical form they just can’t connect with it. A lot of people also don’t even know how the money system works today they just swipe a card or type a pin and that’s enough for them they don’t think about how banks control everything behind the scenes so when you tell them bitcoin lets you be your own bank they see it as too complicated or risky.

Then there’s the media for years it’s been saying bitcoin is for criminals or that it wastes energy or that people lose money so now many people just stop at that and decide it’s useless and dangerous, and of course volatility makes it worse if the price keeps going up and down they think it can never be money they forget their local currency loses value too but slowly with inflation. People also like things simple tap a card get your stuff done managing keys wallets and security feels stressful so until education improves and tools get easier most people won’t take the time to really understand Bitcoin. Funny thing is they are already using digital money every day they just don’t realize it the only difference is with bitcoin the control is in their hands not the banks.

That is right that many people do not understand Bitcoin simply because they do not care about complex technical details. Trying to explain whole system at once can not be good and make people lose interest. So good is to start with few simple powerful ideas. First explaining that Bitcoin has limited supply is great way to start as this easy to understand fact directly connects to idea of scarcity which makes it valuable. This simple fact is mostly enough to make people curious. Second focusing on investment and security aspects is very practical. People want to know how they can benefit from it and how to keep their money safe. You arr right that they do not need to understand complex technology. They just need to know that it is secure and can grow in value.

Many people don't know where to start with Bitcoin, and research, study, and understanding the basics are necessary. I must say that it requires a significant investment of time, money, and effort to grasp Bitcoin, which is something many people fail to understand.

Bitcoin is very easy to learn I don't see that thing that is very difficult for us to learn about bitcoin, or maybe I think you're talking about the technical aspect of it Which majority will not want to pay attention in that aspect. Understanding the basics of Bitcoin is not hard. It didn't take me long to understand the basics like:
What Bitcoin truly is
How to store my bitcoins
How to send and receive bitcoins
How to secure my bitcoins and many more.

I am still learning the technical aspect of bitcoin while here. The truth is, anyone who finds it difficult Understanding what Bitcoin really is, is either an illiterate or just don't have interest in knowing about bitcoin. I agree that Bitcoin is an invention and a radical change, just like the Internet.. Many people in the early days of the Internet did not know how to use it, but with time and their passion for discovering it, they became skilled and learned everything. This also reflects how people view Bitcoin. They were not used to it and were accustomed to traditional banks and financial institutions. The fierce attacks on Bitcoin in its early years helped reinforce this difficulty and negativity in their minds until now.

Bitcoin allows you to control your money without the interference of governments and central bodies. I have seen the video and i cannot agree any less, they actually did a very good job with the analysis and the explanation to the fact that its a paradigm shift that is uncommon and will really be difficult for some to grasp and trust enough at this initial stage but moving forward i believe they some persons will later catch up with the revolution in the fintech and investment industry that has brought Bitcoin in.

Some persons usually do find it difficult to move over from a traditional trend to a new advancement because they may have gotten too comfortable with the old so much so that they find it really hectic transiting into the new so sometimes for no reason they will just prefer to stay around the old and settle there.
