I'd like to address a topic that came up in another thread and ask the community what they think about users who behave less than truthfully by posting in various local sections without being native speakers. Since I didn’t receive a convincing answer after sending a PM, I’m opening a new topic.
The quote clearly shows that at least two accounts translated posts on the Netherlands (Dutch) and Serbian local boards. If we look at rule 27, "Using automated translation tools to post translated content on local boards is not allowed," it's clear that these rules were ignored to gain additional merit. Furthermore, we can see that the translations were posted on the same day but by different accounts within a short timeframe. I'm inclined to believe that these two accounts are alternates.

Good initiative, although the problem I see is that, unlike, for example, the AI Spam Report Reference Thread. Here we are not going to have a system to identify with certainty whether automatic translators are being used. We do not have automatic translation detectors, for example. I have dealt with some cases on my local board and in some particular case it is difficult to determine. I suppose it will be intuition more than anything else, combined with some mistake made by machine translators that the user does not know how to correct.

Yes, @Platinumys drew attention to bad translations, even the one listed in this analysis is not so critical. Earlier, I already reported one of his posts to the moderators, which was deleted, because an automated translation was used. https://ninjastic.space/post/64997445
I didn't have time to do any more research at the time, so I thought a report post would suffice.

The Serbian language is straightforward, with clear and consistent rules. "Write as You Speak, Read as It Is Written", and that means each written letter corresponds to a single sound, and when reading, you pronounce the word exactly as it is spelled.
That's why automated translation is often meaningless, because the tools don't have translation for slang, names, or some more complex words, and translate them directly. Such oversights cannot happen to a human.

For example, @Platinumys translated the username TryNinja as "TpиHињa", even if this username were to be "translated", that would sound like "ПpoбajHинџy"
Or he directly translates the username of the Telegram bot @Piggy (to @Пигги), which is also incorrect.

The accounts you stated seem to be part of a bigger account farm and/or merit abuse: Interesting behaviour by the "MrNata" account that led to possible account farm

What does not help the situation is with how much relative ease they manage to enroll on campaigns. As they feel rewarded, they create/buy more accounts and repeat the process. Ultimately, the decision is with campaign managers but if they stopped recruiting accounts with dubious conduct they would be forcing them out of the forum.

I also think that this account is an alternative and even assume that it may be from Bangladesh. Why do I think so? Simply because I see several similar accounts that are also unlikely to be native speakers but use Google Translate and publish their posts where there are generous sources of merit.

I also asked one of the accounts that I suspect of being alternative about the fact that he gifted an old post in Arabic. I asked if he was a native speaker, but naturally, I did not receive a positive answer.

Inasmuch as posting in two or more local boards is not a crime, if you are knowledgeable enough and could write in both local boards without the use of Google translator. But the purpose to which they post is actually important. As some people uses this strategy as a main medium of hunting for merit on a local board that is known to be the most active and flourishing. And in regards to this case of @0x000369, it is 100% certain that this user is an Arab person. Because the first local board he posted on was the Arabic local board on June 20th 2023, while the second local board he posted on was Naija on November 14th 2025.

Hence, it shows this user is an Arab who just only wants to farm merit on the Naija local board. Proof shown below

I will ignore the reply above from the person defending 0x000369 (which I find very sus and weird) as I don’t know what relationship they have, plus the explanation don't make any sense especially since the user specifically in question was couldn't defend himself yet or provide any valid explanation.

Anyway, I want to highlight that this user is certainly using AI to write his posts in Arabic, because I can easily recognize it when I read Arabic. Here is some proofs:

I'm late once again to another shit-slinging party, i.e., I missed a thread about idiots doing idiotic things.  Figures.

Now I don't know about members trying to get away with posting in a local board dealing with a language in which said members aren't proficient, but I've been seeing morons who probably wouldn't count English as their 4th language try to write coherently and contribute something relevant to whatever topic is at hand for over 10 years now.  There might well be more polyglots in Asia, South America, and in various parts of Europe, but it seems like this forum sucked in the absolute worst of them all--and now there's no way to get rid of them.

Up 'til now, nobody has pretended to be a native English speaker if they weren't, because it was fairly easy to spot the use of translation tools.  Crap like ChatGPT and whatever AI helpers people want to use has changed all that to the point where I don't have a clue who's writing from brain to keyboard to forum or whether there's a language "enhancer" inserted somewhere within that pathway.

Did I mention that I've nearly pulled out all of my hair in the last 1.5 years or so because of this BS?  Fortunately I own a fine collection of baseball caps.

The number of these so-called polygots that are frequenting the form seem to be growing. If that really is the case then the problem will get bigger. Let us not forget the only mootive they have for conducting themselves in that manner is the hope of receiving merits and that is a necessity in order to build up their account for joining campaigns.

The only thing most have in common are suspicious posting patterns and strong indicators they are part of an account farm. As for the baseball caps, I am glad you own a fine selection (in the event you might need them)

You don't need to fake pidgin to communicate on the Naija local board, our board is 50% English and 50% Pidgin - using pidgin doesn't give any form of leverage, no need to overdo yourself or pretending to be native. Use English.

I don't think it is necessary to be fluent in a language in order to post in that local section. It is not uncommon for people to try to learn a new language by trying to immerse themselves in a situation in which they speak (write) and hear (read) in that language exclusively. There is also a market for translators, and practicing (and creating a portfolio) is the only way someone can get better and gain credibility.

I probably wouldn't use merit in order to reward people for translating a thread in a local section if you are the OP of the thread being translated. It would be better if those in the local sub reward good translations with merit, who are in a better position to judge the quality of translations.
