The world we live in is evolving and changing fast. more people are earning income from their phones and laptops like never before. We all experienced COVID and saw how it affected the economy. Yes companies had to close but few stood their ground due to the fact that they had online workers who could attend to we the buyers/consumers without being in an office.
People are now acuring skills such as coding, free lancing, web development, programming and many more. Not just because their sick and tired of office work but because technology has made it possible for anyone to work anywhere, some even anytime. and earn without stepping into an office.
But my question remains. Are online jobs the future of global employment, or you see it as a phase just passing by.

We all know that online jobs only came about because of the internet. It's similar to how Bitcoin or blockchain technology emerged only when the internet became available, which I cannot deny has greatly helped all countries and even the citizens of every nation.

And we are also among those benefiting from the online work we do here in the crypto space, which is why we have been on this forum for several years now.
And all of us are very grateful because of the internet and this blockchain technology.

Online job will still wax strong as long as technology keep advancing , many nations today focus is on technology as they have done with anything that much manual labor, mostly the development countries today have little to deal with regard to construction but focus much on technology and economic market.
To get first class professional in certain field required technology especially when sort from different geographical location. Many have seen technology as a place of getting good skill, job and enhanced knowledge, in future it will be more if jobs because eventually every one wants it's investment to go globally as well get the best among labour Force at any location which only internet can do speedily.

With how massive online job offers today, I don't think it has limited to a "few" existing job sectors. In fact, it's constantly growing, as business minded people tends to innovate not just in the aspect of how they get cuts from the product costs, but with manpower costs as well. Although there are business models that still necessary needs physical labor, like the physical stores, restaurants, and malls - but I'm willing to a bet that part of their employees/staff can still fully function even working from home online. Therefore, I don't think online jobs are limited to just few sectors, but it is in fact applicable to any type of jobs.

That is true, but online job offers in developing countries do not fully use this pattern because there is still a lot of work that involves humans in the work process.
Technological developments continue to provide innovation in many aspects, but we also need to look at the readiness of human resources and conversely, in developing countries, human resources may be improving slowly so it is not easy to implement online work according to existing aspects.

In my country, online work tends to be more about the concept of selling goods and products and the rest still uses the work system as before.
In line with what I said, because in our country human resources are still not met and the available systems are not limited enough to the concept of work that involves humans as a whole.

Flexibility and reduced accommodation costs for online work are one of the advantages, several areas of work can be done online, there is no need to be monitored and only the results of the work will be requested.

Honestly I'm still going to route more for online jobs than physical jobs because I have experienced both. Online jobs mostly work on tasks and deadlines. Once you're giving a task, you are expected to deliver such task before the deadline given to you and when you deliver your task, you don't have issues with your employer. It reduces your physical interaction with the employer and any physical encounter which can bring you work related conflicts. Online jobs do not need you to start calculating transport expenses and others, it only requires you to properly equip your workspace and for you to be disciplined to deliver on your tasks and meet up on your deadlines. I will prefer online jobs than physical jobs for so many reasons but as an online worker, you must be highly disciplined and result oriented because these are areas most online workers get easily worked up. When you don't plan your work hours properly, you are most likely not to meet up with deadlines and to disappoint clients frequently.

I want to say honestly that for me, of course, online or physical work depends on how much the salary is, even though online work is flexible, but if my income is small I will also give up, and when I see a physical job with a bigger salary or the possibility of a good career path to have a bigger income, I will definitely not miss it, and vice versa, if online work is far more profitable from the amount of salary, I will definitely do it, especially with easy skill standards that I have mastered.

Traditional ways of doing things are changing this is due to the different evolutionary things taking place which I can describe as the technological advancement that humans beings are experiencing which is at its peak . There were companies who have offered online work for so long and even more than a decade ago. I've seen people who have been working online and that's how they have made their lives better from working in that setup.

I've thought for some time that any jobs involving commuting for hours per day will become so inefficient we will stop doing this regularly.  Its a straight contradiction to me to have people in highly paid jobs but required to waste time staring at traffic, inhaling engine fumes for no good reason.
  Where inefficiency exists its the purpose of business and an economy to avoid the waste of time and money from being repeated.

  Many are vastly opposed to this and require in person paper pushing as the only valid way to conduct business but I find it relates to the overwhelming debt burden cost of housing in many places, in a job you can be worse off in this way; also its wasteful use of the countries available land generally.

If you're a skilled worker, it'll be easier to find online work than if you only have general skills, as I've experienced.
There are also still jobs that can't be done online, so some workers still need to go to the office or factory.

Online jobs started shortly after the introduction of the internet, and has gained more relevance today due to the jobs that technology  and internet themselves have created, and the interconnectivity of tasks/gigs attached to them. But you should know that most of these online jobs/tasks do not have the real-world value, which is why they can't replace so many jobs.

So instead of saying it's the future, I would rather say that it will coexist with the physical jobs with real-world value. You can't expect engineers to be doing their works remotely. The same goes to farmers, factory workers, etc. These categories hold the real-world value that can't be shortchanged for unavailability of the personnel.
