The world we live in is evolving and changing fast. more people are earning income from their phones and laptops like never before. We all experienced COVID and saw how it affected the economy. Yes companies had to close but few stood their ground due to the fact that they had online workers who could attend to we the buyers/consumers without being in an office.
People are now acuring skills such as coding, free lancing, web development, programming and many more. Not just because their sick and tired of office work but because technology has made it possible for anyone to work anywhere, some even anytime. and earn without stepping into an office.
But my question remains. Are online jobs the future of global employment, or you see it as a phase just passing by.

While there are jobs that have to stick with the office protocols and attendance. The flexible jobs that can be done on computers and make people from other side of the world employed can be done for so many industries.

Like those skills that can be done from anywhere in the part of the world is what many are learning and doing now.

They're shifting from the jobs that they think sucks them out of time and eats it from their daily commute, they're doing it not only for the money but also for having time with their family.

As long as the internet exists, it will continue to be so; online jobs benefit many companies, as they save a lot by choosing people from third-world countries to handle tasks that are 50% cheaper than hiring from their own country.
Online jobs will continue to thrive because many jobs will be created to fulfil market demand, which is why so many universities and colleges are offering courses suited to online work.

So yes, online jobs are now an industry and a growing industry. As long as the internet exists, there will be jobs you can do online.

If there are constant technology advancements, the future of online jobs will also continue to evolve as technology does. And we all know that the world is rooting for bigger positive changes through technology and great innovations, so rest assured what we have now is never just a phase passing by but a continuous bigger goal ahead.

However, there are also some drawbacks but those advantages have beaten them, and so we are seeing more remote jobs continue becoming a trend that are offering us bigger compensation compared to those jobs only available offline.

The blue-collar jobs are irreplaceable and I believe self-employed is still the largest compared to other and it can't be done from online. Online jobs are evolving because they reduce the cost of their offices, but I don't think we will ever reach a state where everything is done online and no one has to step out of their driveway anymore, it's simply not possible.

This isn't a passing phase; it's just the beginning. I'm confident that by 2030 and beyond, most activities will be able to be conducted without physical contact. Everything will become more sophisticated, and all industries will inevitably keep up with the times.

As you mentioned, people can now work from anywhere via the internet, eliminating the need to go to the office. For some, this will save them money because they don't have to leave the house. But for others, like transportation drivers, this could be a disaster, as fewer people will hire their services. That's the rough picture.

In my opinion, there's no other choice but to adapt to the times, starting with everything, especially work, if we want to survive.

Yes, thanks to the internet people can do the job remotely especially those job that can be done through the use of computer.

We are suggesting this to my boss during pre pandemic since my job is detailing using a software on computer while I spend all my office hours with the computer and send the output through email on our clients  but I never got the approval but during the pandemic this became possible. Many think it’s not possible until we tried it.

Until now we are on this setup half our schedule every week since our company save electricity for doing this while as an employee I love working at home with my family. I believe this is the future of job since we can focus on work and at the same time spend more quality time to family due to no traffic at all.

I for one do not see online jobs as a phase, but rather a digital time that has come to stay.

Online jobs make white coller office jobs and journeyman jobs look harder than it should be and as the current time we are in demands, it is a time where AI innovations and technological advancement has made living a softer and more enjoyable experience till old age.

I think online jobs saves one the stress of having to go to offices which we don't like and interact with some dickheads in the form of bosses or supervisors or work colleagues that are so ego inflated and of course, one can plan and grow in wealth and gain more experiences doing an online job that pays well with multitasking and freelance stuff that's sure and legit.

I'm not exactly sure of what it is at the moment, but I know how it became a thing/trend since COVID hit the world. A lot of persons/companies where forced to find other ways to promote their services/and render services respectively. It has also encouraged a lot of persons since the incident till this day, but I doubt if it's going to revolutionalize global employment.

There are so many jobs that still requires/demands physical appearance because they actually don't fit into remote (online job) class. A lot of people will definitely see the need to transition, so as to make their lives better, or get a good pay while avoiding daily rush/traffic. But there are still series of jobs that will continue to demand physical presence.

It will no longer be a phase because it’s so well integrated to the workplace already. Companies are able to regulate how many people are working in the office because some can work from home and some can be in the office. If anything it will continue to improve.

I would say yes, online jobs create a better future for us, and undeniably that alone is the future of global employment. The world is changing in the best way possible, developing the most effective means of technology that all of us will greatly benefit. However, not all of us would want it that way because majority would still want the traditional way, working by going on their physical workplace, but having this great option working remotely creates bigger opportunities as well to those who love technology and are tech-savvy. And the fact that we get to manage our own time by sticking on online jobs.

They’re not the future, they’re already a reality. But if I were at an age where I could choose another career, I would focus on something that computers can’t replace, like manual labor. Not that I would personally do it, of course, but I would create a business focused on that type of service, since builders, painters, electricians and so on are in short supply these days, and they usually charge a lot for their work.

In my family, we have 3 members who work from home already. That being said, I think the competition will increase massively, so whether you're aiming for online employment or not, you have to improve your skills. I mean, I don't think everything will become digital-based, not like you can catch a criminal by livestreaming, for example. But it's still a good idea to learn a thing or two if you want to do a side job.

Google is one of the highest employers of labour globally and most/all their staff's work from home remotely.

The millennial era that gives birth to the Gen zi era have designed a pathways to digital skills that aid us to succeed as global citizens who can function remotely,, but then regardless on the envolving technology that made the world a global village we still have those that are mandatory to appear in person at office, even though they still work form home sometimes.

I have a friend who works from home he usually works around 10 hours, but he’s there, at home with his family. That makes things much easier. It might be a bit monotonous, but this way he saves the commute to the office, and he’s at home, in a family environment, which is the most important thing. It will definitely continue to improve  and it should  because it makes people’s work and lives easier.

For many sectors that involve computer-based office work, working online is possible, but there are also many jobs that require being physically present in the field or on-site. As technology advances, professions adapt to the times. This has happened after many inventions, the internet is no different.

Not a passing phase but maybe the trend for AIs will pass but it will make more opportunities and people will have to learn with a new trade of skill just for us to cope up with the job market that it has created.

People think that AIs will replace us but it has also made new opportunities. And so, I think that the online jobs will continue to be more and I think there are even groceries, restaurants and other retailers in the some countries like the US that have hired virtual cashiers that are from off shore and doing the transaction and tasks from their homes.

That depends on which industry we're talking about.
If it's on tech, yes, it may be possible. Some tech companies nowadays already employ thousands of remote workers.
There was also an instance in the medical field where a surgeon operated on a patient remotely using a robot. During the pandemic, we also encountered medical check-ups done remotely.
For other industries, such as farming, fishing, mining, and logging, most of the work relies on manual labor (blue-collar jobs). Sure, some parts of it has robotic assistance, but it still heavily needs skilled workers' supervision.

There are still incoming vast opportunities for online jobs, with this I'm quite certain that this builds the future of global employment. If these offline jobs will fail to extend online, I am sure they will be out in the market in less time.

Also, online jobs offer bigger earning opportunities at the comfort of working at homes, so ideally this is what most job workers want most especially for the parents wherein they can also monitor their kids at home. And at the same perform their task well online.

As long as it is cheaper to hire agricultural workers than robots, or it is cheaper to hire workers on an assembly line than to create a robotic production, until then online jobs will not be the dominant type of jobs. If this happens, it will cause a deep crisis due to unemployment. There will be a giant army of people who have nothing to eat and nothing to lose, and no police or army will save the well-fed from the hungry. So all progress has a downside.
