Honestly, I also made good money in Altcoin, but that was during the ICO days. I gave up doing it after so many rug pulls that happened, and so many scam attempts also came out with a good whitepaper, and yet they didn't continue at all, while some are good at plagiarizing them.
Those were the good old ICO days when investors were always happy to see good projects with good use cases well detailed in their roadmaps and white papers. Many investors really made good money from that era, and some came in when there were more scam projects than good ones, which is what totally destroyed that pattern of fundraising for new projects. Now investors are more focused on an already existing and working product than just investing in sell-out promises. A lot of people in the crypto market have come to realize that many projects are scams, that is why they prefer Bitcoin for peace of mind, when you are holding Bitcoin you have assurance that it will not die like shitcoins. I know a lot of friends who have lost their hard earned money in crypto projects that were hyped with unrealistic promises to give them quick returns but the projects are all dead today. If you're looking for quick profits then go for new projects but be ready to lose your funds if you don't exit at the perfect time, most of the altcoins are nothing short of gambling, if you're lucky you'll recover your capital with profit but if you're not you will end up losing everything.

The point is that if you have the ability to take this high risk then you can, it depends on everyone's financial capacity, you have the ability to lose as well as you are willing to take this risk, you may think that maybe you will get something big or you will get nothing, in this way many may decide to invest in altcoins to test their luck.
If we take risk, we can consider losing at any moment just after doing it. And those who wants to assure profit, they are not going to invest but if they do, they'll make a mistake that shall determine themselves if they want to still continue and keep on investing with Bitcoin. But in the end altcoin investment mostly depends on luck, where we get much better prospects in Bitcoin investment in the long term.
You said it right, it's about luck and many of the alts these days won't pump anymore especially the newer ones.

A lot of people in the crypto market have come to realize that many projects are scams, that is why they prefer Bitcoin for peace of mind, when you are holding Bitcoin you have assurance that it will not die like shitcoins. I don't dispute your statement because what you said is true, but even though the average altcoin project seems like gambling, some of the older altcoins can still be considered as high-risk investments. Anyone who can manage the risk and can afford to lose might consider it as an asset diversification, but I am not trying to advise anyone especially if they are 100% in bitcoin. All investors basically know that anything they hold as an investment asset carries risks, but it doesn't make sense to invest 100% in an altcoin that is built without the ability to compete well in the long term in the market. I have bitcoin as my main investment asset, also have altcoins as diversification although not many.

A lot of people don already learn the hard way. After hyped projects with big promises don chop their money, many don settle for Bitcoin for peace of mind.. When you are holding BTC, at least you know it would not just disappear in one night like most shitcoins. I have seen it too, friends put hard earned money into next big thing projects, everybody shouting moon, fast returns, only for the whole thing to die.. If you pursue quick profits, fine, new projects fit that lane, but you must accept the risk. One mess up and everything do go..

This life is all about risk taking, if you want to be successful and live a comfortable life you have take a lot of risks, but you have to be smart when taking risks Investmenting in alt/shitcoins is a good risk to take it has paid off for many people, and at the same time destroyed a lot of people too, so you have to be very smart and strategic as to know when sell and if you have to hodl, keeping close tabs on the coin in question is key.
What I think is that those who are really smart will not trade in altcoins. I personally see altcoins as a few fraudulent coins. While some people have made a lot of profit by trading here, many have lost a lot. I would say that altcoin trading is never an investment. Even if it is discretionary income, investing in Bitcoin is the best way. There is also risk in investing in Bitcoin, but you can reduce it through your mentality and fund management. But when trading in altcoins, there is complete control through a third party, so I never like trading in altcoins. The point is that if you have the ability to take this high risk then you can, it depends on everyone's financial capacity, you have the ability to lose as well as you are willing to take this risk, you may think that maybe you will get something big or you will get nothing, in this way many may decide to invest in altcoins to test their luck. But in the end altcoin investment mostly depends on luck, where we get much better prospects in Bitcoin investment in the long term. You are right, taking risk comes down to someone's personal limits and their mindset too. Some people likes to take big risk while some don't have the nerve to do that, what they prefer is slow and steady moves. The attraction in which Altcoins gets is as a result of people thinking is a fast to get money but it just depends on luck. So some people love to gamble with that luck. That's why bitcoin is different, it work with time, not by luck and rewards people who are patience have the mindset of long term. In the end every investment we make depends on how our level of tolerance.

Every investor is a risk take and in investing it comes with risk and so you need to be prepared and careful with the kind of investment you go into because any slight mistake you will end up losing all you have laboured for, the risk in bitcoin investment is not much and that is why most investors prefer investing in bitcoin compared to any other coin . Bitcoins investment still remains the best and safe for any investors to go into stress.

When it comes to investing, all investors incur a certain level of risk, and subsequently preparation is necessary for making wise investment choices. Investors face unpredictable outcomes, particularly when investing in cryptocurrency; a bad decision may result in loss of funds, therefore understanding what you invest in is essential. Bitcoin has a lengthy track-record a very robust, supportive community and high market penetration compared to other cryptocurrencies. As such, investors have increased levels of comfort and confidence when investing in Bitcoin, as opposed to investing in other cryptocurrencies: thus, a preferred option for long-term capital appreciation.

A risk taker who is willing to loose his money may continue but I see no reason to keep doing what I know it may never benefit me at last when I have a sure option to go for which is bitcoin,in a world filled with scam in crypto market it is not advisable to venture in to gambling when there is a guaranteed market to invest in. I suggest to a pple investment in newly promoted coins to stop and invest in bitcoin because it's more than guaranteed therefore risk takers should stop.
