Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans, and people around the world who choose to celebrate.

Thanksgiving, or Family and Feast Day as I like to call it, is one of my favorite holidays.  It's purely about celebrating three of my favorite things; family, friends, and food.

I have been hearing about Thanksgiving but never bothered to read about its meaning. Thank you, OP for this brief but impactful message. I have observed that materialism has made us forget our responsibility to humanity. Economic problems such as inflation are forcing us to take more jobs to cover the increasing cost of living. Thereby spending less time with friends and familiy. Depressiona and suicide keeps increasing because humans have become isolated.

Thank you for reminding us that our freinds, family and community needs us as we also need them.

Umm Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I guess, but would you mind explaining what's this exactly? Some kind of holiday? We don't have this kind of event here! It is related to western culture right? Though I am not familiar with it's actual meaning or purpose, I have seen it in many television series movies, where people, family membranous would gather around, fry out an entire turkey or chicken and celebrate something.

At the end of the day, they just store junk at home. People are not grateful for what they have. We should first think about helping the poor people in society who are financially weak.

Something I’ve learnt to appreciate over the years, the beauty in spaces.

Lots of people enjoys having several expensive items hanging about and placed in places just to add some sophisticated look to their environ and they find an offer that seems too good to miss, the need and use for the item seems to escape the mind and they just go for it. At times it comes down to not having where to put it and so, you improvise for an item you might never get to use.

Having this space to yourself ensures serenity, little to no place for pests to hide, the ambience would be unmistaken and proper ventilation.

One thing with buying all these though, you eventually have much to give out in thanks giving.

Although I know about Canada's celebration day but I didn't know about this Thanksgiving Day that's why I wanted to know. Thank you for your criticized answer. I know about what you said about search engines and I tried to find out through Google, I still remember that there was no date mentioned in that answer. I got the answer on the second Monday, but the only reason I wanted to know about this is that Americans who celebrate this day could explain it well.
