To me, "gambling for fun" is just an excuse, a reason for gambler to cover up their gambling behavior, nothing more. I don't know why they do that, but it's definitely just an excuse and not their real purpose.

I don't think anyone would spend money or even use money for necessities, or borrow money to gamble and say they were just having fun. The truth is that most of us have one real goal every time we gamble, and that is profit. That is the main purpose of gambling these days.
I have no shame in admitting that, as long as we gamble responsibly and don't affect others. There is no reason to hide it, I also gamble for profit, I do not seek joy in gambling.

I understand gambling for relax. I play slots time to time when really tired. I change 2-3 beers for half an hour slots with minimal bet.

If that is what you think about gambling then you are still far because gambling is way more than just testing one IQ probability and statistics and there are a lot of games you can actually do to actually test your IQ probability without involvement of money such as ludo game, draft and some others. That's exactly how it works, and that's why many chase winnings. Instead, we need to take our time, act thoughtfully, and fully control our emotions. We should try to learn from the professionals by observing them. Even if we can't do exactly as they do, we should at least try.
