I only turn off the sound if there's people around me because I wouldn't want to disturb them with that, but if I'm sitting alone I wouldn't mind turning the sound on especially when I'm the one leading but whenever I'm losing I find the sound very disturbing then I will just decide to turn it off, I think this is a general problem because i could remember visiting offline betting shop and I noticed that the sound of the slot game was off and I just conclude maybe it was those gamblers that ask the manager to turn it off.

I agree, if it's a way to avoid getting addicted and that's making him feel less being addictive, he has to do it at all times when he plays slots.
There is an effect in our brain when we hear sounds. It's either we feel more encouraged and positive or it gives us a negative connotation upon hearing it.

Some players might actually enjoy the game more with the sound turned up to maximum volume, to immerse themselves in it. But for me, that's completely unacceptable because I want to maximize my chances and use every available resource. I always mute the sound so it doesn't interfere with my focus on the gameplay, allowing me to notice subtleties and nuances, and also to better tune into my emotions for even greater self-control. In fact, I've long ago decided to play without sound, and I'm glad I did.

For me, I don't think sound has a lot of influence though.. maybe minimal which helps to stimulate the brain to anticipate wins.. other than that I think it's basically just there for the sake of being there. Like you said, the main appeal is the visual sight . That's us what shows you wether you have won or not.

i think some people don't normally see the conncetion of how the sound feature of slot games can casually influence their decisions in a subconscious manner!! like all those near miss sounds and the reward sounds and also the jingles of the upbeat are like intentionally added to make a player feel some level of excitement so as to keep you spinning!! even when it might be the case of you lossing more than you are winning and I honestly think turning off those sounds can surely do away with that psychological effects

The sounds in the slot games is actually what keep it thrilling to me.
Most at times when I have to play the spinning and I keep loosing and as much i feels nervous each time the wheel spins, I would just take my eyes off from the screen with my ears very attentive to hear what sound I will hear which is another blind form that tells the outcome if I won a list it since winning and loosing sounds have their differences.

I don't see how the sound influences anything. If a gambler gambles differently after turning off the sound, he is simply complying to what he has already conceived in his mind. That's simply his mindset making him believe that his motivation to gamble more comes from listening to the sounds from the slots. Well do you see it as less addictive without sounds? Because if you do, you might want to tune colors to black and white as well. Both phones and computers has this option. But maybe ask yourself why are you playing? It's nothing magical you are addicted to, as you are basically addicted to fun of it and repetition of dopamine rewards.

Imho, i don't do this, because if i did, i might as well use automatic betting and leave my computer, so i wouldn't be more addicted or changed my "tactic" (which there's none).

On this, point of view matters a lot and that's the direction I'll speak from. Actually, what makes you turn either off or on your sound during games matters a lot because for me—it isn't really about the game but the place I am at that moment. I can maybe turn on my game sound when I am at home and then turn it off when I'm outside or in class. It's just as simple as that.

To me, it does not make much sense to turn off sound effects of casino games. Since one is gambling entirely for fun, one needs to get the best experience with whatever our gambling budget is, and part of enhancing one's experience is allowing one to experience those sound effects related to wins and losses while playing slots.
If there is something I can be sure about is the fact turning off those sound effects won't have any positive effect on one's session nor will give any advantage against the house. The effect is purely psychological and subjective to one's state of mind.

Some do have background music which might not be  annoying, just only the sound Effects that could be annoying to me at times and depending on on the game, you can choose to turn the enter sound off or turn off the sound x only while still leaving the music on ..

Not sure for others. But in my cases, if I play these games without sound, I don't really get the real fun. The sound plays the role of extra excitement and joy for me. But I often wager on mute when I am in public or in front of my family members. The only reason is that if I wager in front of them, they may have a negative attitude towards me. Moreover, I don't think there are any other emotional influences that essentially control the output of gambling.

I never play slots with the sound. It makes me distracted and make it seem like it will make me lose.

The sounds are so distracting. However, there are few times when I have truned on the sounds and what I enjoy the most is the jackpot/ huge win sounds. Aside that, the others are not appealing to my ears.

It's plausible that turning off the sound while playing can reduce the urge to gamble. However, this may depend on the type of gambling itself. I think turning off the sound really changes the whole vibe of the game, the spins feel more flat & yeah the urge to chase wins becomes weaker it’s like you’re just watching the reels move without the extra pressure. I play slot games with sounds mostly off, and it has never changed anything, but maybe it's because I am already very used to the sounds being off.

Reason why I usually turn the sound off is because first. It's always very noisy and I hate noise, you might want to say "why not turn the sound down instead" but I simply prefer putting it off.
Second reason is that I play slot games mostly in the night, either while laying on the couch or on the bed with my wife, she doesn't know I gamble at times and the last thing I want to do is disturb her sleep with game sounds.
Third reason why I prefer to put the slot game sound off is that it helps save or preserve my battery.

When I play slots, I always have the sound feature turned on because I find it one of the most exciting aspects of playing. Sometimes I find friends playing slots with the sound off, which makes me bored. So, I try playing without the sound. It's relaxing, but not exciting enough.
For the reasons you mentioned, I don't think it's very effective, as the urge to keep playing will still arise if we're still thinking about gambling or winning. But if that's your reasoning, that's fine.
