Especially his mother has fainted several times thinking about this money. In the end, the boy did not understand and now he is working a job with a salary of $230, paying his loan money accordingly. The boy who was supposed to finish his university life well and move towards a good job sector has now lost his everyday life due to addiction to casinos. his many cherished dreams have vanished. His parents planned a bright future for him but he went the wrong way. Gambling isn't the cause, he put himself into it. When you gamble irresponsibly, you will face the consequences of your actions and learn in a hard way.

Paying a debt of $19k with a job of $230 is not going to easy. He should get two to three jobs to increase his income. He can also learn a skill to get a higher paid job. It's not a most that you should go to the university. He can still achieve success with his skills.

There will always be a second chance for anyone who has dealt with their life. But what comes after that?

I'm sure he can bounce back and pursue his dreams, but getting through it will certainly be difficult, as he must be consistent and stick to his principles to improve. This mental health issue might be treatable with the help of a psychologist or therapy, but I'm not so sure, as it seems like a serious mental health issue would be very difficult.

I believe his mental health issues stem from excessive pressure he couldn't handle. This is one of the negative effects of excessive gambling (acute addiction). Hopefully, we can learn from this case to gamble wisely.

As long as there is life, there is always hope. I believe he can recover from the debt, but it will all depend on him if he is straight about changing his lifestyle. I am just glad that the family was there during his down times. Gambling addict need the help of their relatives and give them hope that it will be alright someday, as long as they change.

That's actually a tough situation that he is in, paying all that debt, but his salary looks okay to pay off that balance in maybe 5 years or more.

Yes, he can make a comeback because he hasn't died, but the main solution began with acknowledging his error, treating his gambling addiction, and being prepared to take the necessary steps to get back on track. Since everyone knows that gambling is a game of chance with no guarantee of winning, I don't think anyone needs to be made aware of it unless they are avaricious gamblers.

Gambling took hold slowly and once the addiction formed he lost the ability to see consequences and that is why everything spiraled. the pressure on his family especially his mother shows how deep the damage reached and the emotional weight of that $19000 debt has pushed everyone into fear and exhaustion.

His current salary of $230 is nowhere near enough to rebuild a normal life because that amount barely covers food and basic survival. if he uses it to pay debt he pays almost nothing and if he uses it to live he pays nothing toward the debt at all. at $2760 a year he would need many years just to clear the debt and during that time he still has to eat travel survive and handle unexpected expenses. this makes the debt look impossible unless something changes. He will not escape this situation with the job he has now so the only real path forward is a better job new income or some kind of structured debt plan. he created this mess but he is also the only one who can walk out of it and that means facing the addiction fully and rebuilding step by step. recovery is not impossible but it demands painful honesty and a level of discipline he has not shown before.

Well, they are already aware of it, yet they don't take it seriously. Instead, they let their greed and temptation fool them.

Even every day we give advice to people, but if they don't put it in their minds, nothing is going to happen. It is impossible to change someone when they are already controlled by their emotions. They only learn when everything in their life is already ruined. Unfortunately, they can no longer bring back the time and opportunity they lost in the past.

No matter the amount of advice you dish out everyday to people, at the end of the day, people will always do what they feel is best for them. And most times, people don’t discard or ignore advices because they doubt it or don’t know that’s the right thing to do, some are just keen to doing what they feel will benefit them, even if it’s perceived to be wrong. While some don’t even need to be advised before knowing what to do.

With thousands of advices flooded on the gambling board everyday, thousands will still ignore them and make wrong decisions because they feel that’s what will benefit them and at the end of the day, they’ll only have themselves to blame, because they didn’t act due to ignorance.

I don’t really get how a student could accumulate a loan that huge. Wouldn’t the lenders think twice, knowing the person has no solid source of income? And imagine this - after all that, the guy ends up working a job that pays only $230 a month. That’s basically minimum wage. It’s hard to imagine how he could ever pay off that loan, especially since he still has personal expenses coming out of that small salary.

And with the interest and penalties stacking on top of it, I can’t even imagine what the total amount would look like.

I've been wondering, honestly, how did it happen that the person was loaned such an amount? He was still a student at that time, right? Or what was his status then? Was he already employed? Then, when he accumulated a debt that he needed to pay $19,000 and his monthly salary was only $230, it would take him quite a long time to pay that off.

How much would be left from his $230 monthly salary if he were paying that debt monthly? He would truly need to work double shifts just to survive in a situation like that,
and that is actually not easy to do.

Yes, because if ready for the change, walk towards it, and work hard to make the incredible things happen.

Most people who are not into gambling are not aware. They become aware after they have lost a substantial amount of money.

Majority of people are of the opinion that gambling is an easy way to make money because a few people have won from it or they saw some advertisement on social media which promoted the same.

That's the first measure to take if an individual wants to be free from addiction, they should first admit to themselves that they are addiction and they should also hunger for a change, because when they are not ready to make a u-turn, no make any solution that is forced on them, they can never accept to change unless they have made up their mind.

Yes, obviously it's always like that, while there's life there's hope The bad thing he did was become addicted , but he has to pay everything back Well , he should look for the borrowed money, pay off his debt , and start working really hard to pay back those $19k he lent, and then he can study and do everything right, There's no other way.

But he knew that gambling is a terrible trap and that once one falls into this trap, one can never get out. How could a student get into a debt of $19,000 knowing all this terrible information in advance?  This means that this student may have had some initial profit in gambling, which led to him becoming so greedy that he could never control himself again. An uncontrolled gambler never considers himself or his family, and he becomes so mentally disordered that he cannot imagine anything outside of gambling. Then gambling became a routine job for him.

It is possible for him to come back to his normal senses and realize his dreams but of course that will take some level of work on him. First of all he needs to go to the rehabilitation center and stay for sometime where he would not be gambling sothat he would be taken care of, after some weeks and months of gambling he will somehow excape from gambling addiction. And upon his return, he should be going for training or skill that will occupy him, sothat he would not have any reason or space to gamble, with time he will stop it entirely and focus in his dream. You know sometimes people get addicted just because they have nothing to occupy them, but if they do, they wouldn't have any reason to gamble.

Of course yes he can. Although the debt money is high but with concrete effort he will be able to go through the payment for a long time. A student who has owed such money, would have involved himself in other financial draining exercise and addition like womanizing, drugs and drinking. So if he would resist those urge, and focus on the repayment through his job salary, he will be able to come back.

If those monies are borrowed money and not directly to casinos, I believe there is debt forgiveness also that he may be lucky to get from the creditor if sincere effort have been made in the repayment process. So he should not lose hope because what is important is life. If he is alive and focus, he will repay his debt and achieve his destiny.

If an addict admits his guilt and decide to open up for help that means the veil covering his eyes have been taken out, he is already half way free because he will be willing to get help. The most difficult aspect of addiction is not to accept that they are going the wrong way or that they are addicted.

It is because most people are more focused on the gambling ads they see in their platforms as gamblers are often found to get gambling ads in their phone and social media. These clouds the awareness ads which are fewer than those who appear on social medias in the phones we use. Some other people keep coming back because they want to win so badly that they forget anything they may have watched regarding awareness about gambling. This is the problem most people face that they forget about awareness and this is why I think that most of such awareness programs do not really work in the longer term. I think much more needs to be done in order for the awareness to have much more impact than it already has.

Of course he can, everybody can, but his situation is hard to overcome and might take longer before he can recover, both financially and emotionally. Plus, what if he succumbs to his addiction again along the way, which is possible since he’s facing financial problems? If he can’t take the financial pressure, there’s a big chance he’ll go back before he can fully recover. He needs strong will, patience, and discipline in order to overcome his problem.

If he can wake up from his nightmare, he can come back from the situation and reach his dreams again. First thing he must do is cure his gambling addiction and works. Forget about his education as that has ended and he must focus on paying his debt.

He needs help from his family to cure his addiction. That is not easy because he must stand on his feet and move on because he has a second chance. Perhaps his dreams are far away to reach but with a strong mind and effort, he can get them especially with help from his family.
