Does prayers really work in gambling?

Yesterday being Sunday I was somewhere hanging out with some of my old time friends, we were all having good time together which off course all work without play makes jack a dull boy that is a popular saying, however we decided playing some game's to complete the whole fun so we went straight to the casino centre but funny enough one of my friend made a short prayer before proceeding and I was like "Frank" what did you just did? he told me he just finished praying because praying before gambling have been working for him over the years.

 However that single act of his has kept me wondering if really prayers can possibly affect positively or influence gambling activities in one's favour? So what's your take, do you think or believe prayers has a significant role to play in a bet or is not possible and shouldn't be given a trial.

I.do not want to know if prayer can help while gambling, but I do not actually know if prayer can help or not because I do not pray anytime I want to gamble. To pray before gambling can not even come my mind but I will just proceed to able.

Just tell him to be using small amount of money to gamble because as he believes in prayer can help in gambling, he should not make the mistake of using high amount of money to gamble just to avoid a deadly mistake.

I consider prayer don't work at all, be it in job, in health or in gambling, it give zero result.

It just make your heart feel calm and think you're with someone else that could help you, while the reality there's no difference whether you pray or not.

This would be funny if the gambler is a Muslim, gambling is forbidden in Islam, if they pray for breaking their rules, it doesn't mean gambling become halal or less haram lol.

Normally prayer is the key, but doesn't mean you won't make your own research and analyze before betting. It's a matter of what you believe because it could be that your friend is the lucky type that normally have luck in gambling, but the only thing I would advise you is that, don't be carried away by following someone else in gambling because humans are not the same. Always gamble with the amount you can afford to lose because what might work for you, might not work for another person.

This is indeed a funny questions mate, well prayer works for many things but this I don't know. Though God can bless us through anything even he can bless you through your enemy if he wants, but if it's gambling I don't know. It could be that the person in question was Just lucky enough or a coincidence to be wining whenever he prays, making his believe stronger. but God has a way of doing his own things, if that is the way God want to prove himself to him then it is possible. but if he can be able to have a conversation with God, he may know that it is not God wish for him to gamble but to fulfill his will

We all have our beliefs and faith, how we approach things and all, if that do really work for him then he should keep it up, I think it all boils down to what u believe.
I won't say outright that this is right or wrong, I mean, what do I know, I'm so limited in knowledge, but if it works fine, and if u try it and it doesn't work for u, fine too

I have witnessed in several occasions where some gamblers first prayed before they start gambling. See OP one thing you should understand is that, everybody has what works for them and what they believe in. And there Some person's out there who don't start any activity without calling upon what they believe in including, Christians. And as for your friend maybe praying before gambling always give him Goodluck that's why he prayed first before engaging in the gambling activity, and believe some person's do that as well. For me I don't pray before gambling, why because I see gambling as something that has no business with spirituality, if I predict 10 games and 9 games have enter reaming one, I only call out the name of club which I predict to win to deliver my ticket, since they are the only one holding my ticket, but praying no no I don't pray in such situation, because it's just gambling a game for fun and for entertainment no spirituality attached to it.

Prayers can work in everything. If you believe in miracles and have strong faith, yes, they can, but they don't guarantee an immediate result. Some prayers take weeks or months, as long as you have faith that it can happen.
I don't discourage prayers in gambling. It's part of your belief in your relationship with the higher-ups, but win or lose, we have to accept the results.

Prayer works in everything bud, gambling is not stealing, it's not kidnapping, it's not drug trafficking, it's not something Illegal, it's not immoral to gambling, and as long as gambling is not anything bad to engage in as a person, then prayer works, prayer works in every human activities that is good..

As a Christian, I've read in the book of deutronomy that God is the one that gives us the power to get wealth, and as I understand this, if gambling is one of those means through which we can get wealthy, then prayer works, praying to the one who give us the power to get wealth does work with gambling, but this is if He will answer.

Returning to each individual's beliefs, in my opinion, prayer can be said by anyone and according to each individual's beliefs, it is a human's right to ask for something from God or their beliefs.

For me, gambling is a game where before playing something, of course there is no harm in praying, of course they ask for the best for themselves, especially winning in betting, now we return to their views on gambling itself.

The point is, as far as I know, prayer, whether it's good or bad, is always accepted, but whether gambling and prayer are compatible, I personally haven't tried it.

In gambling itself no, there's no way a prayer could help you in gambling even if you are aiming for a jackpot though some people may find it work because of coincidence, they might always pray and when the time that they're really going to win, they think that the prayer works. However, I think it could work in gambling if you are probably in your lowest point and asking for guidance and wisdom to overcome your addiction, this kind of things I think a prayer would come and probably help you but praying to win, it's never gonna work.

I thought this thread has no sense at all if we consider the real correlation of prayer to gambling.

This opinion of yours makes sense and probably the only way prayer will be relevant on a gambling discussion topic. I’m on the situation before that I can’t handle my losses during my newbie days. I struggle a lot on how to cope up and stop thinking about my previous mistakes.

Prayer works well on this situation because you are putting all your burden to your faith that everything will be fine if you believe to God.

Generally, most religions are against gambling because gambling promotes addiction, greed, and other problems that are caused either because of a need for money or because of its abundance. That's why, I don't think praying before gambling so that your gambling could go well wouldn't make sense to me if the religion you belong to is basically against gambling itself. In Islam, you are not supposed to ask for help from your creator when you are about to commit something that he forbids, or even if you do, you can't expect him to help you in that thing because it's a work of satan and not him.

That being said, people who say that they pray before gambling because they believe this has been helping them in their gambling activities basically are superstitious, because they believe that doing a certain thing can make them have a better session. This is found in so many people; some even believe that gambling on a specific day makes them win and playing on any other day makes them lose, so they wait the whole week for that day so that they can gamble.

If prayers helped people to effectively get money from casinos during their gambling sessions, then there would be thousands of casinos going bankrupt for having to pay significant amounts of money to religious people who happen to be gamblers as well.

Also, in my opinion, praying before partaking in gambling is a little bit of a contradiction, the most important religions on this planet teach about the dangers of love for money, asking God for good luck in order to get money (instead of working) goes against those teachings.

Some time we are encouraged to stick to what works for us, your friend Frank make prayer a piunt to start gambling and is working for him with recorded winnings after prayer, we cant judge people religious or spiritual beliefs so for that reason we need to allow them be as far as such actions are not having negative effects on the individual.

Gambling has strong interference with our emotions and for that reasons,  whatever a gambler feels enhances his gambling activities and push up winnings is somewhat welcome and divine.

Well, it is not bad to pray before starting to gamble because this can be a good practice for faithful people, but it is very important to know that prayers don't guarantee a win. Maybe you can pray to have the heart not to feel bad when you lose or to not be greedy, but if the purpose of the prayers is to win, just know you are only joking.

Prayers don't change gambling results; the only things that can determine winning in gambling are skill, knowledge, and luck, but still, they don't guarantee winning. Prayers don't work for games like gambling because gambling is not certain. Crazy that it made you think about what happen to your friend that prayers can change the result of gambling and it work for him. But actually what provably happen is just coincidence, he suddenly became lucky at that time and for sure that those situation happen to him will not always occur even if he pray more harder.

Also gambling is been discourage to participate by most of religion, so its really crazy that he tied up his win with those actions he do. Maybe your friend is just so religious and he link that situation happen to him on what he prays earlier.
