Your friend believes that praying before gambling has been working for him that's why he keeps praying before he starts gambling however if you want to know if prayers can play a significant role in gambling why not sell your properties like your house or cars then pray after praying you use the whole amount to gamble the result you get after the games will definitely be the best answers to your question.

You should have asked him if he doesn't lose a bet anytime he prays before betting. If he says yes, then there would have been a need for you ask him to do that in your presence and the  bet on x number of different games, depending on the number of games you want him to bet on. If all of them is successful, then you can agree that prayers actually have effect on gambling. Secondly, is this guy very wealthy due to how successful his bets always go? If not, then prayer doesn't have any effect on gambling. If prayers works on gambling, then the casinos will go broke because every gambler will turn a prayer warrior so that they can win their bets, lol. If he wins anytime he prays, then it's a good coincidence for him.

Prayers has nothing to do with gambling. Gambling is a game of luck, it has nothing to do with spirituality. I have watched a video where a sound preacher of the gospel of Christ Sir Abel Damina was preaching that God is even against gambling.

Huh, prayer? Gambling isn't a mystical activity; your wins and losses are predetermined by the house, especially when you're involved in casino games. The only way you can win is by asking the house to give you a win, or by being lucky; this is more plausible.

So, in my opinion, prayer is completely ineffective and doesn't help. Even if you do win through a prayer ritual, I'm sure the win happened because luck coincided.

Yesterday being Sunday I was somewhere hanging out with some of my old time friends, we were all having good time together which off course all work without play makes jack a dull boy that is a popular saying, however we decided playing some game's to complete the whole fun so we went straight to the casino centre but funny enough one of my friend made a short prayer before proceeding and I was like "Frank" what did you just did? he told me he just finished praying because praying before gambling have been working for him over the years.

Rituals, prayers or any kind of conditioning that's being done by gamblers before they do it, it's all in us.

If we believe that they work and increases the chance of wins, let's not be kill joy with the others. But honestly speaking, I don't think that it really helps to win a game.

Anyway, as I've said that's to each their own if there is really some change for the result upon doing it. Everyone is free to do beforehand anything we want to do when we gamble.

It just helps a gambler to be more optimistic, but I highly doubt that a higher entity would like a person to gamble and give him luck so that he can win more and be rich. If that is possible, then we will see a world filled with prayers, and no more gambling sites will open.

This is just a superstitious belief, and everything is up to the house edge of a casino, then our luck being there at the right time and winning. If a gambler plays the whole day, praying every minute, he will still lose at the end of the day.

Psychologically, I think it's useful. But in the game, it's still our skills and minds that must be used. However, without realizing it, I sometimes do it too. Like saying Bismillah, or something like that. Even though I know I'm not doing the right thing, it's just because of my habit that in every step, every action or task I'm about to do, whatever it is, I always start by saying Bismillah.

However, when it comes to praying specifically for gambling, I don't think I've ever tried it. But everyone's beliefs are different. So I won't judge or condemn anything. Prayer before, during, or after gambling is ineffective. There is a no metaphysical force behind gambling and not ritual, or routine can make anyone win. God is a neutral party in gambling. If prayer or any of those things work, I think the casinos would be at the forefront of it. This goes the same for AI use by gamblers in predicting outcomes of their games. It doesn't work.
But still, if your friend feels comforted after praying before gambling and it helps him gamble responsibly, then congratulations to him, he should continue with it.

Everyone knows what works for them. Religious people believe they can pray about everything and receive answers. In some religions, gambling is not a sin, which gives them the right standing to offer prayers for divine guidance and favour. I am not against anyone who wants to seek divine help before placing a bet, my reservation will be if they rely solely on prayers. You cannot substitute prayers for skills, research and analysis. Gambling is not forbidden by my religion, so I might decide to pray about my games. Nevertheless, prayer will not take the place of due diligence.

There is no connection between gambling and the divine. It's that gamblers are very superstitious and really looking for 'someone' to guide them and then hope that they are going to win because they prayed to the higher high.

If he is indeed winning then it could be just coincidence and there's no way that the Gambling God have interceded in his be-half to win. After-all we have read from the Bible that God or Jesus is against gambling per se so why would he help someone to win money in gambling just because they pray to him?

The future is uncertain, none of us know what awaits us in the coming days. Winning at gambling requires specific knowledge and skills or strategies and Ultimately luck plays a big role in winning. No matter how much we research and bet, we have to depend on luck to win, if luck is not good, we cannot win at gambling. I think no matter how much we pray at gambling, we have to depend on luck to win. Winning through gambling cannot be said for sure, you cannot win by gambling by praying, with this mentality, the risk of losing money through gambling can increase many times.

Well it's not laughable, because human believe on many things, prayer as a ritual to any supreme being base on individual belief. I doubt if prayers has any impact in gambling, human problem is that they mostly acknowledge wrongly given glory to what contributed nothing seeking help to things that can't add or subtract as result of ignorant.
Some religious belief that their God don't support gambling for instance mostly Christian faith, praying to such God for answering your prayer on what it condemned seems trying the God as gambler, other religions may support but can't really tell if gambler can be succeed through prayers, if prayers works many gambler would have rely more on prayer than hoping for shine of luck.

No, I think prayers don't work when it comes to gambling if they do then everyone would pray and win the bet. It's basically someone's luck that plays its role other than that nothing works, no prayers or omens are going to make someone win a bet.

Well, that is indeed the wrong thing to do. That is, when someone blames their prayers just because they still fail at gambling even though they have prayed a lot before gambling. It is better to gamble by understanding the available statistics and understanding each game well, and only gamble after you really understand and are ready. Like someone playing poker, in reality it requires specific skills at the table, such as reading and influencing the psychology of fellow players at the table and so on.

And in betting, we really have to focus on enjoying it and having fun in it, and not let it stress us out just because we lose.
