Does prayers really work in gambling?

Yesterday being Sunday I was somewhere hanging out with some of my old time friends, we were all having good time together which off course all work without play makes jack a dull boy that is a popular saying, however we decided playing some game's to complete the whole fun so we went straight to the casino centre but funny enough one of my friend made a short prayer before proceeding and I was like "Frank" what did you just did? he told me he just finished praying because praying before gambling have been working for him over the years.

Don’t you have any other thing to pray about? Why gambling? I don’t really know if prayer works when it’s comes to gamble, but it’s just better you properly do your analysis before you place your bet, because if you decide to depend on prayers, am sorry you might not really be winning anything. You don’t have to turn yourself to a prayer warrior just because you want to gamble.

Normally gambling is suppose to be for fun, but most people are already taking gambling to another stage, they just want to make money from gambling by all means, and that’s why some people decide to prayer maybe God is going to answer their prayer, and they going to win big.

This is really funny because I don't think if God will answer such prayers. There are religions that even condemn gambling so prayers has nothing to do with winning in gambling. I also want to ask OP does that mean your friend don't lose in gambling again. It maybe be that your friend the days he wins is only his days of luck. It will be wrong to be bring prayers in gambling as ones is bound to loss even after praying without luck being on there side .

I think a lot of people forgot that there are some religions that forbid gambling, so I don't get which God is going to accept the prayer of their bets anyways. It's really funny with some of topics that are been posted here honestly, there is no relationship between God and the money you want to make from gambling, if there is connection I believe the casinos will be praying you all should lose money so the casino can make the money.

Gambling is about fairness and that depend on how the casino set the standards, if they want you to win in all fairness you are going to win but if they don't want you to win, there is nothing you can do about it. This in particular for people that people that bets on games, you can't take away what casino doesnt want you to take away, so prayer is useless at this point. Why not pray for God to give you better job so you don't chase after casino with prayer.

If I were in that position, it would be completely ineffective because gambling is clearly forbidden by God, so there is no point in praying, God will not give it to them.

I don't think prayer work in Gambling, if prayer works it means that casino halls would have all closed down because there would have been uncomfortable wining since God will have been answering the prayers of anyone who prayed. I not doubting that prayer doesn't work, but there are situation that prayer doesn't work. Just like a person who is praying for someone to die or praying for things that are not meant to be. In my opinion, prayer doesn't change anything in gambling, because as we know, in gambling, everything depends on luck. However, it's not a problem if you believe in such things, perhaps with prayer, luck will tend to favor you. For Muslims, gambling is prohibited, so it's certain that a Muslim person would not pray for something forbidden. It's a waste of time in my opinion. Your win is someone else's loss, so does that mean you're more favoured than the other person who lost? It's just like a football match where people pray to win the game. It's a waste of time because who is god going to answer when both parties pray. You win with strategy, a proper game plan and sometimes a little bit of luck.
It's the same with gambling. You win either by strategy or sheer luck, nothing more. There is no divine power that makes you win, definitely not god, but somehow people believe there is a divine power in everything, so they always pray about everything and then start questioning why they didn't get what they prayed for.

Unfortunately, people will always mix it because they assume religion and gambling has a correlation. Some people assume gambling is forbidden in religion, it is their reason to debate it. Since it is forbidden, no doubt that praying won't have nothing to do with the success in gambling. It is just a contradictory to pray for something that isn't allowed by the religion.

It's more like a ritual or a way to get in the right frame of mind before the game. If your friend says it's a prayer, as far as I remember, no religion approves of gambling or games for money.So,at the very least, it's stupid, and secondly, it's disrespectful to his own religion. That's true. Praying while gambling is an insult to religion. Indeed, I don't know a single one who would approve of such actions. It's blasphemous. A mockery of millions of people, so to speak. Yeah true, it really depends on the person. Some people pray before gambling because they claim it gives them confidence or makes them feel more relaxed, but for me that does not mean it actually affects the outcome. For someone who is conscious of the fact that gambling is forbidden in their religion, the prayer would not even make sense because you already know God won’t support that kind of request.

Gambling is chance, prayer or no prayer, so it’s better people just see it as entertainment and not something they should spiritualize.

It does not have an effect but I got to tell you this though, this is not a matter of results because a person prayed to win, this is more like a matter of psychological conditioning. If you pray, you feel at ease and in most cases, being at ease is what makes things really easy for you especially in gambling where getting too emotional is going to cost you big losses. There is also the coincidences throughout history from so many people praying about different things, and that coincidence led to the belief that you can get results by praying for it. It is easy to stigmatize people that do this because it looks like it is a ritual of despair for some but I think that those people that are shallow about this kind of thing do not really gamble because they cannot empathize with the person doing whatever ritual they are doing when gambling.

To some extent, winning could be a big coincidence. Some gamblers win after praying and then believe the prayer caused the win, which strengthens their faith.
But I don't think it will be a good idea. In fact, in some religious groups, they are prohibited from gambling.  And even in my life, I don't have the courage to do that, believing that it was not reasonable enough to be asked.

No religious belief could change how the gambling results were made. It was about luck, and if we give faith, that would be for ourselves.

Nah, that is just a coincidence. With my years of playing, of course I’ve done it as well. To be honest, I feel guilty praying to win in gambling. To me, that’s disrespectful. I know it’s not good to show my greediness but still have the nerve to ask for it. Even rituals or any feng shui won’t work in gambling simply because gambling doesn’t work that way. It's just like when two teams are about to play in match, both teams prays and handover the game to God's hands in the words of their mouth and as they render petition to God, what they both prays for is victory and often times the two teams always have that strong conviction that they are going to win but at the end of the day, such conviction alone is not enough to determine the outcome of the game because God in himself is not an author of confusion. For you to win in the game, you have to put in the work and ensure that your strategy is better than the one of your opponents and that you're able to execute it effectively. That's the only way your prayer can influence the outcome of such as event that involves two parties that believes they have what it takes to win a game. Same is the case with gambling, your prayers is completely useless for several reasons because what you're doing in the first place is not an acceptable thing, religiously.

Every person who gambles expresses his feelings to his God, whether secretly or openly (most people express their feelings secretly and pray to win at gambling). When I gamble, I definitely express my feelings to God, and I keep praying in my heart until I win at gambling. This is definitely a positive reason for gambling, proper research, and prayer definitely play the biggest role in changing luck.

Praying is something we must do in any situation but if some people pray before gambling, that is no problem because they believe it can help them to be more confident. Well, I would say no... players can't affect positively or influence the results of any game. But if it works for your friend, maybe there is something in all that. In any case, if it works for someone, if it makes someone calmer, if it has any positive effect on you... Then why not?

In my opinion, that's a very foolish act because it won't work. From my perspective, praying for money through activities that are considered unethical and inappropriate, as most religions forbid or consider gambling a sin, and I don't think it will work.
Gambling can ruin your finances and can also potentially become an addiction, which will only make things worse, and I think it's very contradictory. So, it's better not to do it because it won't work. And you'll still lose if it's not for your luck, and the question is, when you keep praying and keep losing, will you blame your prayers and God for not giving you victory?

I Just corrected that word been strike since I think that's a type to avoid confusion towards the opinion you really want to deliver.

But what happen is I think just common scene in gambling and maybe he is just so really lucky by that time that's why he win. Prayer can't add up their luck, but it can lighten up people's mode to continue on what they are doing. But I think everything is just random, but if they really feels like by doing that it can calm their soul then no one would provably discourage them to do want they want because somehow prayer is  good moral booster.

One, gambling is a luck based thing. It can go either way – loss or win. You only get an advantage if it's knowingly ringed in your favour through insider scoop.

Two, if anything, your friend should know that both the Christian and Moslem doctrines frown at gambling. They see it as covetousness. So, what god does your friend make his prayers to whenever he prays before making his bets? Maybe you can find that out from your friend.
