We actually have no choice in where we are born and just have to make do with what life presents us with. While your society contributes a great deal in shaping your beliefs, presenting you with an ideology, I don't think it fully dictates your life. The choices we all make in life may be influenced by someone or something, in the end, we are the ones that ultimately made those choices.
It can also be really difficult if born into a low income household. With little to no resources coupled with no or very limited skill or education, not forgetting the ever increasing divide between the rich and the poor, there is a constant struggle to get a better life.

it is possible to condition your mind not to be subjected by your environment but not everyone can actually do this...For a lot of people they are being shaped by their environment, this causes some sort of limitation to them...That's why it is always advisable to change yoir environment if you find out that where you are isn't making you productive enough..sometimes that's all you need to move forward

Sure, thats an option.  But, honestly, a lot of people use the "bad environment" excuse to justify their lack of willpower and discipline.

I agree that people who cant block out their environment may struggle with this, but in most cases, its because they never really tried to block out the negativity around them.  For example, if someone moves to a new city to get a fresh start and does not change their thinking, then they are just taking their negative attitude to a new zip code.
