Like, I don’t know why they rarely admit it to themselves, you can’t really judge it by just words alone but by patterns of behavior. When they keep chasing losses in gambling mainly just to recover money, and can not take a proper break, that is normally clear warning sign.

Getting out of it is not that it is impossible though. It just start with recognizing and accepting those patterns, then intentionally start changing the habits and also set boundaries. I believe the mindset has to change first..

Most of them are delussional aiming to beat the house and collect decent amount of earnings, once they experienced to win they'll think that they will keep that winning streaks and keep the fun while playing, but once losing streaks start hitting them, the aggressions will start to dominate leading them in uncontrollable decision making that most of the time lead them losing more to what they can afford to let go.

Addiction comes when you often or excessive things to do it again and again regardless the consequences it may have, e.g. in gambling the chase of getting more money. Having a consistent engagement in an activity is often what leads to addiction which is why it is wise not to be constantly involved in things that can cause harm and gambling addiction does not start in a day, it is something that develops over time as the brain slowly gets wired to it. What they consider something positive in their minds as gambling addicts is actually just an excuse. Even so, I believe addicts like this are not bad people. They are not the same as greedy gambling addicts who waste their wealth chasing ambition for a win based only on money and hope without strategy. It's true, it doesn't happen in a day Things are different because each person has their own way of seeing things, but addiction does take time to develop, Perhaps in the beginning, you can notice that you need to stop, and if you don't, it will only get worse. Gambling can lead anyone to addiction if they can't control themselves, whether it's their finances, time, desires, or even their brains, as the OP suggests. Personally, I consider gambling to be the same as any other game, including online games. The only difference is, that the risk of losing a lot of money in gambling is more likely to happen, than in online games, if if we play irresponsibly. So, I don't think we should ignore the whole "self-limitation" thing, and that applies to any activity that can lead to addiction. Therefore, let us be wise in every step, or activity we take. By the way, we as humans have complete control over our bodies, including our brains. So, when we say we can't control it, or try to blame our brains for our mistakes, I think that is wrong and seems like an excuse to avoid admitting our mistakes.

I completely agree with you, we do need to provide warnings, or reminders to fellow gamblers. All of this is necessary, because we as humans are prone to mistakes and forgetfulness. By the way, my suggestion to consider gambling as entertainment is an early deterrent, and I think that is just as important as being aware of the consequences of gambling, meaning people should be aware of that from the start when they start trying it. What you say is true. I myself have had similar thoughts, although I didn't want to outwit the bookies. I was focused on achieving a big win, but it was like trying to beat the bookies. But the opposite happened, with losses occurring more frequently, leading me to lose control of my bets and make high-risk decisions.
The reasons for my gambling addiction are strong, and I was fortunate to be able to realize and recover from my addiction without any help from others.

addiction is a complex process that is formed through the combination of many factors and in this regard your argument is largely reasonable. environment mental vulnerability social pressure and personal habits together push a person toward addiction. greed and unlimited ambition are major causes of gambling addiction because they force people to ignore reality and risk. however having greed or ambition alone does not mean someone is addicted. addiction means losing control over one’s behavior continuing the same activity despite losses and becoming mentally dependent on it. positive thinking should not be completely eliminated because realistic positive thinking helps people make conscious decisions. the problem arises only when positivity turns into unrealistic hope and self deception. therefore in determining addiction it is not a single mental trait but overall behavior and its impact that should be considered most important.

Regular gambling is never a problem, if you gamble responsibly and regularly, then I don't think it will ever become an addiction. But if you gamble irresponsibly and only a few time, then you can become addicted to it. The key to addiction is how much self-control, responsibility and limits are important to you. You need to control your brain not to think about gambling as the only one activity that gives fun. If you have more activities that bring fun, you will not return to gambling too often. Your brain will not think about gambling but you will do other things that give fun. If you return to gambling over and over, that triggers your brain to think that gambling is the only thing that can give you fun. I think if someone gambles every day but he gambles responsibly then I don't think it will be a problem in his case. However, he has to play with responsibility in mind, such as he must gamble in his free time and he must spend money on gambling from within his ability to lose. In this case, if a gambler gambles every day but he spends less than 5 to 10% of his monthly income on gambling, then I would say that in his case if he gambles every day then there will be no problem.
On the other hand, if a gambler is new to gambling and, out of greed, takes the first bet beyond his ability to lose, and if he loses the bet, he will definitely fall into trouble.

Yes, the player needs to try to improve himself as a player, this is important, it most likely moves forward, but if the player is not interested in anything, then he will simply stand still, and therefore standing still means that other players will overtake us. True, addiction do not just come from one place, it most times is built up from different factors, and once, and from that things can easily slide out of control. Greed is among the big thing that makes it happen, especially when someone is pursuing fast win..

And also, yes that blind ambition is dangerous. When a gambler is been pushed by the urge to get to the top fast, without strategy or limits, it already looks like addiction from that point. At that point, it is no longer about fun or calculated risk again.

Greed is one of the reasons why a gambler continues to gamble even after losing, and even after winning, they continue to play more with that winning. That is why they cannot stop under any circumstances, whatever the outcome, their mentality is to play more, be it in the pursuit of bigger wins or in the hope of recovering losses. This is a very terrible stage, yes, it is possible to make a profit through gambling, but it is so difficult and uncertain that it cannot be an alternative to livelihood.
