I am from a developing country and I have seen a lot in the hands of people running companies and businesses, I have joined alot of side hustles in the past and they all have one thing in common, power drunk and injustice.

Don't expect to be treated right, people are looking for jobs so if you leave because of how you are treated some people are waiting for that opportunity and they won't care how they are been treated.

If you want to retain employees, be a different master, don't be too harsh and always pay right on time, people are going through alot and debt even from their work places are very common.

Absolutely the right words about payment, because many managers generally have the opinion that it is possible to motivate employees with something other than money. And it always looks funny. When I was still working at an official job many years ago, I often heard questions from the head of "dear employees, tell me what can motivate you besides money," and immediately everyone hid a smile. And what can motivate you? In words? smiles? Everyone pays their mortgages and debts with money, and expects only money from work.
I don't understand how you can be so naive when it comes to money. As long as I've worked in companies, I've always disliked all their ideas about how to bring staff closer together. It always looks very unnatural and causes a stir. All the gifts from companies are always unnecessary nonsense, which I always put in the trash. Only money matters at work, no fun relationships, no gifts. And money, and only money, because as you correctly wrote, everyone has debt obligations. Or the desire to save money.

Employees dont leave company, even if they were offered a better payment, if their employer is good. The answer is simple, be a good boss, and employees will stay. If employer is good with his employees, employees wont even try to find other job. Question is - how to be a good boss. That is complicated, as personal approach needs to be found with any employee boss face and communicate with. Boss need to be on same wave with his employee. He should not be a person who only give tasks and pay.
Paying your employees very well is important because they need to take care of their financial responsibilities and that is why they left their comfort zone to come and work for you. Treating your workers the right way with respect is as important as paying them very well so that when they wake up they will be happy and energized to come and work for you, when they are at work they will put in their best to make you happy. I know people who are still working in the same place even after being offered better salaries somewhere else, they remain where they are because they find peace in the work environment where they are happy. A combination of good salaries and respect will keep an employee working for you for a very long time.

In addition receiving adequate respect from the owners of the organization and timely payment makes the employees loyal to that organization and perform their duties attentively.

By paying too much salary you will not get sufficient output from the employees if you always keep them under pressure. As a result of treating employees well even if their salary is a little low they will have a respectful attitude towards the owners of your organization and perform their duties properly.

Even though the company is not short of replacements, but at least they should be able to give the best to their employees because after all, it is not easy to recruit new workers, unless they choose by default.



The truth is that most of us here are just employee, wage worker, and very few own or run businesses. Therefore, it is no surprise that everyone demand that the company create the best working environment and offer the best benefits.

But I believe that if we try to put ourselves in the shoes of those who own and run businesses. We will think differently because running a business is not as simple as we used to think.

In my opinion, as employees, we should not demand too much. If you feel the work environment is not good enough or the salary does not reflect your effort. Quit your job and find a better work environment.

I think that is only partly true, because not all employees put the human factor first. Many people will still leave if they get a better opportunity, no matter how good the boss is

If it were you, would you stay with a company just because they treat you well, even though the salary is not enough to support your family? If it were you, would you still stay loyal even if the company cannot provide a better environment for your growth and bigger opportunities for your future?

Most of us work for money, to change our live and become wealthy, not just to be treated well. That is why many people constantly complain and speak badly about their boss and their company. But they never quit their job and look for places they consider better.

There is a thin line that exist between employer and employee relationship, once that snaps it all goes bad so swiftly. Should you over relate with your employee, they might take you for granted and should you become way too strict, you’ll find them devising means to undo all your hard work.

I’ve heard of a study or an experiment from a time, didn’t know how true it was but, it was an easy to accept theory. That a reward system works better to improve performance than a system that tries to punish employees for errors.

The theory is simple, people would do their most with great care and diligence to be rewarded than, trying to be too careful just to avoid making mistakes and they end up making the very mistake they hope to avoid.

In this case all you have to do as an employer is to try to balance everything and also maintain your stand as the boss in your office, you should not be to close to them to avoid them not taking your seriously and you don't have to be very strict so they do not see yo use a wicked person just make everything balance so long as your office is in good shape. You don't need to smile always and you shouldn't be available to be with them just set the boundaries and allow the workers to work.

It starts with the right compensation.
That's why there are workers who have initiated to start an union because they're not well compensated.
And so, if that's all the reason why they're not happy with what they're receiving for their salary.
They just want to justify that they're the main reason why businesses are earning so much because of them who works for the company.
Work life balance and then being paid well, this is going no doubt to make employees 90% stay.

When working under a company, there is no freedom. Although it is different in developed countries. But in most cases, no one gets the freedom to express their opinion properly. I would say that the reason for this is the lack of adequate job opportunities. Because when unemployment increases, companies are not obliged to give their employees rights. And a job means voluntarily selling your personal freedom and time to someone in exchange for money. Here, the management uses the employees as they wishes. There are few companies that genuinely try to keep their employees happy.
I like your assessment on this topic and what you said is the root cause of why plenty of employers in my country does not really care about what you are doing for them and they will as a result treat you badly because they know they are living in an environment full of unemployed youths where if you are ready to leave them they are rest assured they will get a replacement in not a long time.

The moment you think that you need employees is when you already have a lot of areas that you can't complete on your own, a lot of focus that you do but also a lot of other work that needs to be done when the business starts to grow that's where you need employees, but if you are still able to handle all the affairs in your business by yourself don't think that you add employees because you can do it means don't waste money on things that you are still doing.

And the way to retain employees is for you to be transparent about the tasks and functions that will be carried out then give them proper support both from salary, motivation and bonuses or such so that you can work with them, simple as that.

And this is called business scalability. And I want to say that few businesses know how to properly survive this process of expansion, because many managers turn out to be good managers only when they have very few staff or all the employees are relatives.
And it becomes difficult for them when it's time to find people, understand that they are competent and train them to the right specialization, then many businesses have difficulty and take on just anyone, after which they experience a crisis and do not know how to expand further.

When I lectured executives on business issues, scalability was in the first place, because they admitted that if a business is expanding, it's like trying to keep a lot of sand in your hands, and it's very difficult.

Building a truly serious business model is always like building a house of cards that has a weak foundation, so there's no point in trying to expand it if everything is out of order.

As a family person I would chose stability, and if my company with lower salary but huge human factor offers stability, I would stay. Jumping from one company to different only because they pay more? What if fail probation? Then again there is no limit for perfection. There is always a company that pays more.

But that is not completely correct question and answer with my situation. When I was applying for a job, I already have chosen job with a reserve in salary. I did not work on a job where I spend whole salary during month. If there I was short on money, I would do some side job, but keep main job where I am doing everything to get promoted. For me same job + promotion > new job where I would earn more if talk is about money.

The truth is that most of us here are just employee, wage worker, and very few own or run businesses. Therefore, it is no surprise that everyone demand that the company create the best working environment and offer the best benefits.

But I believe that if we try to put ourselves in the shoes of those who own and run businesses. We will think differently because running a business is not as simple as we used to think.

In my opinion, as employees, we should not demand too much. If you feel the work environment is not good enough or the salary does not reflect your effort. Quit your job and find a better work environment.

I understand your point, because when running a business, there are many things to consider, including the well being of our own employees.

I personally started my own business, but I didn't hire anyone else because it was my own desire to run it. Even though there were no employees, there were still many things to consider.
Ultimately, I chose to resign and prepare to start a new business later especially since I learned a lot from failed businesses.

And even when I worked for someone else, I chose to leave when it wasn't comfortable for me. But perhaps things would be different if the salary were substantial.

Honestly, if it were me, I would not try to retain any employees. What I will do is provide benefit and salaries that are appropriate to the size and revenue of the business. If anyone want to continue working and contributing, we alway welcome them. Conversely, if they are not satisfied, they can leave. I see no reason to change company rules and policies, which would affect the entire business, shareholder, and investor, just because of a few employees.

As business owners, we should look at the big picture.

When working under a company, there is no freedom. Although it is different in developed countries. But in most cases, no one gets the freedom to express their opinion properly. I would say that the reason for this is the lack of adequate job opportunities. Because when unemployment increases, companies are not obliged to give their employees rights. And a job means voluntarily selling your personal freedom and time to someone in exchange for money. Here, the management uses the employees as they wishes. There are few companies that genuinely try to keep their employees happy.
I like your assessment on this topic and what you said is the root cause of why plenty of employers in my country does not really care about what you are doing for them and they will as a result treat you badly because they know they are living in an environment full of unemployed youths where if you are ready to leave them they are rest assured they will get a replacement in not a long time.

A Company can grow only when it's employees grow. Giving bonuses,respect and salary on time are the key factors in retaining the employees for the long term basis . Moreover, there are more other options that company can introduce if it  is financially strong  or big company. Like they can offer housing scheme where company every months can cut  their salaries little percentage in the name of installment or it can offer yearly reward that is outside country visit , for those who are doing exceptionally. These offers will be catchy for the employees or encourage them,  So they will never think to go against the company because they feel secure. Employees trusted more or works sincerely and honestly for the well being. Only cutting or strict actions does not  big changes or improvement in the company. It just create hatred emotions in the heart of employees.

An employee will work for a long time in your organization if they get a suitable working environment. By having a good working environment and being mentally stress-free, an employee will be able to apply sufficient talent for your organization and you will also benefit. I agree with you that a significant reason why many employees decide to continue working in their current organization despite the security of a high salary is the low stress between work environment and work. In addition receiving adequate respect from the owners of the organization and timely payment makes the employees loyal to that organization and perform their duties attentively.

By paying too much salary you will not get sufficient output from the employees if you always keep them under pressure. As a result of treating employees well even if their salary is a little low they will have a respectful attitude towards the owners of your organization and perform their duties properly.

I agree with what you said, the way you said it is a wise way in my opinion and not all bosses can be like that, lucky those who work and have good bosses like that.

In my country sometimes there are job vacancies available and during the interview they say “it's like a family here” That is nonsense, because the reality is licking or spitting at each other.
