gambling by itself is neither completely good nor completely bad. everything depends on how a person views it and how they use it. in reality we mostly hear about the negative sides of gambling such as how it has destroyed lives broken families and created financial and mental problems. although these are true it does not mean that gambling has no positive side at all. some people have genuinely won large amounts of money through gambling and changed their lives in a positive way. they have built houses started businesses and provided a better life for their families. these examples are what attract many people to gambling. however the real truth is that such success happens to very few people. most people get involved in gambling thinking it is an easy way to earn money or the only way to change their lives and that is where the damage begins. playing again and again in the hope of winning and taking bigger risks to recover lost money is the cycle that makes gambling dangerous. in my opinion if someone treats gambling only as entertainment keeps it within limited money and time and does not go beyond their capacity the chances of harm remain low. but when gambling goes out of control it becomes harmful for the individual the family and society. therefore when making decisions about gambling understanding reality maintaining self control and staying aware are the most important things.

Yeah, majority are negative effects and only few positive effects to us. Because gambling can really destroy lives if not played well. No one really told a story of how amazing gambling is, you can only find positive stories like hitting a jackpot which is a rare case only. But of course, there are also people that won money but they're just not very vocal to their wins and because they also have discipline to every situation, that's why they keep everything to themselves. I can't argue with that, but let's admit it, there are more people who have bad endings with gambling compared to those who have made it and gain success. You are actually right, gambling has changed the lives of some people for good. Those big wins we see on Ads are real, and seeing someone you know succeed from it is a strong motivation for others. But the issue is that those success stories are very few compared to the many people whose lives were damaged by it.
The thing is people focus on the winners and ignore the silent majority who lost. So yes, gambling can change someone lives for sure, but the odds of it doing more harm than good are much higher, and that is what makes it dangerous.

I would say it's a rarity when someone's life gets positive financial influence because of gambling, but for most people, it doesn't do that. There is one thing though, people who gamble for fun and entertainment could say that gambling has a positive influence in their lives because it allows them to spend some good time despite the fact that they spend money on it, but usually when someone gambles for fun they won't spend excessive amounts of money on their gambling activities but they will have a limit for their activities, so it doesn't also have a negative financial influence on them.

I have heard and seen people that have won big amount in gambling, not enough to build a house for themselves but they’ve misused those money and done nothing reasonable with them, so they find themselves back to point zero again. It is not that people don’t win big in gambling, but most of them that don’t have good money management skills end up blowing up that money into unnecessary and unproductive stuffs, so they have to start again. I know the majority of us here often times focus on the negative side and impact of gambling in the lives of gamblers generally, but I personally have always tried my best to be balanced in all of my takes and opinions when it come to the impact gambling had made and is still making in the lives of people around the world.

Personally, I know someone who used to live here in my area who is now living in the  US and doing amazingly well for himself and family, he owned and managed a shop where he sells phone accessories and was into gambling as well,
He won over $250k dollars from playing slot way back 2021, this money is more than enough to change any body's life positively, he bought lands here in my country, built renting apartments, handed the places over to a lawyer and then decided to travel to the US with his family to set up their business there.
