I agree with you. Having a gambling app on the phone is not good because it can easily influence children to get into gambling. Looking at most gambling apps, they always look like a game, and when children get a hold of the phone, they easily locate the games that are on it.

Apart from children being exposed to gambling through the app, it is not even good to have a gambling app on the phone because it reminds one of gambling too easily when operating the phone. For children, it can influence them to gamble at a tender age, while for the owner of the phone, who is already an adult, it can be an even greater reason to gamble.

I agree with you OP. I don't know why, it hasn't come to my head to download any gambling app on my phone because I can easily access them from my browser. The only mistake that I think I normally do is to leave my account open on my browser.

However, anyone using a gambling app should always log out after using the casino.

I agree with you having a gambling app could be very tempting especially when you don't have control and coming from someone that usually gives his/her phone to children they can come across the apps by chance and get to explore what's in there and by that they've been opened to the gambling system, so if you ask me I feel a gambling sites would be more preferable and safer. But then again an app would be more accessible to a gambling sites so it's best to stick to the sites.

Personally, I don't need a casino or sports betting app. Accessing their website is convenient enough for me. But those who frequently use a smartphone might have a different experience. As for the game, I think the website's appearance isn't bad either.

There are ways you can hide apps from view and also have passwords set to prevent unauthorized access to it. I never use apps to gamble, but there are people that do, to the gambling companies they are customers to be won over, so we will always have casinos launching these apps.

The password can be there but no need to access the app by another person before knowing that it is a betting site. Hiding app can be good but is it not better to just use your browser instead of hiding and unhidding apps? That will be stressful for me. Children are very smart, I was with my little nephews that downloaded games on my laptop few days ago, they begged me not to delete the game, could you believe they went to hide the games themselves on my device without telling me.

If one wants to have enhances privacy then one should know who to hide apps on an Android phone, that is some basic stuff when comes to keeping people out one's business, something similar can be done on desktop computers.

I believe casinos rather not to have applications because they are a vector for fishing attacks against their gamblers, APKs can be infected and distributed very quickly on the internet, besides casinos already have their own mobile versions for people to gamble on their phones without having to download anything (just a decent internet browser).
As long as people do not mess up with typing the correct url on the browser bar while on their phones, then the chances of getting their accounts compromised or fished is minimal.

You don't have to worry about gambling apps on your phone being exposed to others.
First of all, you should not give your phones to others especially if you have crypto in it.
You can easily hide your apps from your phone using locker/hiding apps. Much easier in Android.
So you can just keep it hidden when you are not actively using the app.

99% of the gambling apps are replica of their website interface so you can simply logout the app when you end your session or just use the website for better user expereince. I don't think this is not a convincing reason for a casino to have app because it is not their responsibility to teach and privacy practices and mobile phones are private devices and kids should never get access to it.

Aside from the space app consum on our devices memory there are other disadvantages of having a gambling mobile apps which make the website more user friendly and even with more features as compared to mobile app build in casinos, with the level of activities that goes on on casinos involving games, activities, slow operations most especially if the app is out of date.

The above is one among many reasons why gambling app is not so preferred.

Even though there is a feature on the phone where the application can be hidden or locked, I still don't dislike it.

All casinos have browsers and then some create apps for mobile and maybe pc. If you do not want to deal with the apps, then only use the browser.
The casino makes the option of the app available for those that prefer playing on that.

If these are the what you find was challenges for gambling Apps, then it's not a major challenge because you can simply avoid them by ensuring you don't share your device with a third party and not even your friends and relatives. Unless you don't have valuable documents in the device.
I'm sure you'll have some necessary files in the device so your priority to the lost of your funds in your phone shouldn't be of just gambling.
Perhaps you can lock or hide the app for privacy sake.

There’s no big difference anymore when playing on betting apps or website since website version of casino is already properly fit to screen of handheld device that gives same experience mobile apps.

You can bookmark the casino so that you can visit it via one tap if you save it on homepage of your device.

Mobile apps is in demand before because web version is a bit hard to navigate but now everything works flawlessly on the browser.

I get why apps feel unnecessary, but the real issue is not the app itself, it should be access and control. Any form of gambling, whether through a browser or an app, can be misused if boundaries are not in place already. The conversation should be more about responsibility than the platform being used because technology will always move toward convenience, and gambling platforms will not be an exception. So what matters really is how people manage their behavior around it, using device controls, limits, or simply choosing when and how to engage. I certainly dont think a platform having an app is the problem, i mean it only just exposes how disciplined or undisciplined a user is.

A game or activity like gambling isn't supposed to be easily accessible. Gambling apps make gambling very accessible with very little or no restrictions at all. At least, with gambling sites, there are usually some prompts to verify age limits of gamblers. This may not be very effective in ensuring that underaged  children don't gamble, but it is way better than gambling apps that make gambling seem so harmless but unknowingly very dangerous to children who are still learning how to make the right decisions in life.
