There are many ways to go about solving this or stopping your children from accessing the gambling sites, despite them having your phone or someone else's, maybe family or friends.  In case of children, put your phone on parental mode when you are around your kids, a feature in some phones meant to keep children away from accessing your phone where they only have access to play games and won't get exposed to the major apps right there on your phone.

Second option: secure your apps and put a lock on them. There are some phones that have hidden lock features, or you can download them so that some apps on your phone can only be accessed with a code or password.

I don't even recommend downloading apps for gambling because there are thousands of websites where we can gamble very well on the browser, so I never felt like I had to download apps to gamble. And if there are children at home, then of course these apps should not be kept on the mobile.
And in my case, I gamble very little on the mobile because I find gambling on the big monitor of my desktop more enjoyable than on my mobile. So considering all aspects, I think that only the browser is enough for gambling.

If it's for the OP's reasons, I wouldn't have any problem having a casino app. My children don't use my phone; each one has their own. I'm not worried about anyone seeing it if I lend it; I don't hide anything from anyone about what I do because I value transparency in family relationships. Now, regarding practicality, I prefer betting on a desktop. I don't think the app is well optimized for that, even if they try; it's not as good as on a desktop or tablet, because of the larger screen. But I believe they are necessary because, for many, the phone is the only device they have.

Well, reasons you gave are no tangible reasons good enough to stop or discourage interested casinos from building their own app if they are interested in such a project.
Said this because there was a time I used to gamble on 1xbet and I had their app downloaded on my phone since it was from the app I gamble and place bets on my favorite sports games, I have my wife and kids who most of the time make use of my phone, what I did was to simply hide the app from displaying on my phone's app drawer, with this method, I played on 1xbet for several months and my wife who was always having access to my phone had no idea I gamble.

having a gambling app on the phone can really be risky, kids nowadays are very curious & tech savvy & they often use their parents phones even w/ passwords accidents can still happen so I agree that this is something to seriously think about. I for once don't condemned gambling app simply because my kids could get access to them easily,  that is not a enough reason because we have alot of preventive measures that keep your device, if there is any malware threats we can at least consider that as a good enough reason, but regardless I still prefer to gamble on website direct link instead using an app that I will need to keep upgrading all the time, and if not up to date the app can malfunction alot so website helps to avoid all of that stress and still give you better features.

The more smoothly a website functions, the more load it will put on the server. So it can also create a problem for a gambling site, so gambling sites do not launch Apps. It obviously feels like you don't just like accessing the gambling platform through the Apps and I don't think the gambling companies will even look into this because they believe App is very much convenience for most users because someone users just love to click on the app and are one way in to play. Some feel very lazy to use the browser.

I have account in many gambling platforms that have mobile applications but I have never had the desire to use those apps for once. I'm comfortable visiting the site any time I want to play, it gives me the same experience and everything the app can possibly offer. I just don't feel comfortable installing too many applications into my phone, not because of children but the stress of having to update apps every now and then is what I consider not ideal.

The apps are there for options, there are gamblers that would prefer gambling the apps, so the company wants serve their clients in whatever way want. The gambling company also develop apps so they will make money from the downloads in app store and others. Telling the gambling sites not to have apps is like trying to take away money from them. I get what you're saying, and gambling apps really aren't good, especially if our kids often use our mobile phones. Our children are still full of curiosity when it comes to things like this.

So does having a gambling app on your phone automatically makes one a gambler? Because to be frankly speaking, I think it doesn't, as their are lots of people that may have such app on their phone and yet don't use it. However, when it comes to kids having access to your phone, casino have password feature that can be turn for more privacy to prevent anybody from having access to your casino account, and most especially if your kids happen to access to your phone. I’d agree with you that gambling sites are better and indeed they do have excellent interface like you mentioned but when it comes to that privacy aspect I really wouldn’t agree with you fully.

When it comes to children or strangers seeing that you gamble because you have the app in your phone, I don’t think using th website also prevents that because as a gambler gambling site would be among the top most visited sites in your system and that usually makes the system crate a shortcut or bring it up when you search anything related to it.
