Lol, this argument have two groups of people, those siding for the man and those siding for the woman. Like you said, buying the ticket is because the woman rejected the bottle of juice, I also guess the it was because the woman rejected the joice, that's why the man thought of something else to do with the refund and since there was nothing else to do with the money, he decided to buy a ticket. To a great extent you are absolutely right bud, the place of luck in gambling can never be over-emphasized to be honest, luck in gambling is way more important than any type of gambling skill, strategy or knowledge because where all of this are present, if luck is absent, the gambler will still end up a loser, but a game where skill, strategy, knowledge is absent, and good luck is present, the gambler has a very high chance of emerging a winner.

This happens all the time most especially between couples that share enough intimacy time and activities together, just like two best friends flocking together, whatever bounty they get, belong to both shared on 50/50 percentage, so in that case, both the woman who rejected the juice and the Man that decided to buy a lottery ticket, both played the roles and should keep enjoying their money, although this incident happened in 2018 anyways they should have settled and enjoying the proceeds by now.

 - why did the wife had to reject the juice?
 - and why didn't the husband just pick up offence with the wife for rejecting the juice and simply leave the juice laying around anywhere in the house?

Of course, all of this is simply a matter of chance. If you look, this man is no longer young, and his wife may have told him not to drink juice because juice contains a huge amount of sugar. And if he has a predisposition to some form of diabetes, or if they are trying to consume less sugar and fructose in general, that could be the reason why she said she would return the juice. But it is not a fact that he would not have bought a ticket even if he had bought the juice, maybe this is just your assumption. And the fact that he was lucky enough to win is purely a matter of chance. The probability of winning the lottery is extremely low. If you happen to win, then you are simply a truly lucky guy, with juice or without juice.

Yes I may want to argue it mate if this is true. Because we can as well say that if the store where he bought the pack of juice had refused to collect back the juice and refund him the funds he wouldn't have had the $5 to buy the lottery ticket that made him such huge profits in luck. And for that, it's not out of place to state that this has nothing to do with the wife or the store making the man to win the lottery. He just got pure luck by being at the right place at the right time.

There's a spiritual side if you believe in spiritual side. But that doesn't exist for anyone else, or have any meaning in observable reality of others.

It's the whole essence of coincidence, that there's no apparent causal connection with some events. We are just looking for reason because we want reason to exist, and not everything to be this chaotic and seemingly bunch random events, that have causes that have nothing to do with some individuals.

I still think that he is about to buy the lottery ticket, and his wife did not make him win.  It is just an exaggerated story that wanted to make his winnings sensational.  Either he bought it earlier or later, if he is the one choosing the number, then it is pure luck and not because he arrived late or early.

If it really happened, it's more about coincidence and luck than anything else. Calling it "God's guidance" or whatever it is (spiritual side) doesn’t make any sense either, as gambling isn't viewed positively in most religions.

I think this is the real definition of gambling is won by luck. There is nothing better than what the man has done and like you said, it's a coincidence that you don't know what comes next. I am very sure that out billions of possibilities, the one outcome which he had happen every 100 years, there is no way you can be this lucky and think you try it again, it's unreal but we can't say it's not possible because that's what gambling is about, making the impossible become possible.

Winning the lottery is always a stroke of luck, and there's a lot of hype about such wins. If you're saying only X has written about it, it might not be true, I haven't actually checked. But I believe you can only win the lottery if you're incredibly lucky. I'm not sure a series of coincidences plays a role, I'm more of a believer that if you're destined to get something, you'll get it no matter what, and all the other events that seem random are simply everyday occurrences, that happen around us every day.
