Lately, I have seen some people on Instagram and even on TikTok promoting Polymarket indirectly, I wondered whether I am the only one who is getting those kinds of videos...
<snip>
Have any one of you also gotten these promotional videos on Instagram?

Well, what do you mean by promoting Polymarket on social media indirectly? They may be the genuine users who gamble at polymarket, and they put their videos on TikTok and Instagram. There are those platforms that have a wide reach and purpose may not be to promote the exchanges but to show off the winnings, who knows.

Anyways, if you are getting more videos on polymarket while scrolling these platforms, it is because you will get the feed in your account according to your interest, meaning if you visit polymarket reels, these sites will suggest videos related to polymarket and gambling.  Smiley

Right.
I understand how targeted advertising works, obviously if I talk about gambling and visit casinos on my browser, then I will eventually get adversiting about casinos and bookies.

But what catches my attention is how those influencers make up fictional markets about Jesus Christ coming back to earth before GTA 6, to be it is false advertising and devious, they are adversiting using markets which do not even exit on Polymarket. That is my problem.

It would be equivalent to advertising and casino by using games which are not even offered on the casino one is promoting, you know.

That is my biggest issue with those people.

Well, in that case the influencers usually do paid advertisements and whatever they say most of thier followers will believe, that why they are influeners , isn't it. They have a big fan following and their fans will believe in things that they try to convience.

This is the reasons that the platfroms tend to give big amount of money to them in order to promote them. Sometimes even if they aren't doing any paid advertisement, they will say such things to attart the people or beome the headlines. No one caries even if they are telling things that doesn't exists.  Sad

I feel this is what is happening, basically Polymarket started an advertising campaign and is giving money to those influencers so they will find a way to direct people from Instagram to Polymarket.

So Polymarket does not actually have any idea on what is going on or what those people are doing to attract more gamblers/bettors to their website, as long as it works it is okey in the eyes of Polymarket, it is quite devious if you asked me... I did not even know it was legal for influencers to make up betting markets in order to get people to sign up on services...

Oh yes! Honestly, I didn't expect Polymarket to need advertising. It's been growing for so long without any marketing that I assumed the growth would continue organically. But it looks like they've actually decided to go for ads after all.

A funny story came out involving one of its shillers:
https://x.com/zachxbt/status/2020831168627933453

He supposedly filmed a whale placing a $1 million bet right during the Super Bowl game. But ZachXBT noticed something - by zooming in, he saw that the whale making the bet actually had a zero balance.

Even the biggest platform needs advertisement. No matter how popular the platform is, if they put some funds into advertising here on bitcointalk, it will get them more traffic and who doesn't like more visitors at their site.

However, Polymarket may have other targets to advertise, as bitcointalk isn't the only platform to market their business. They may advertise on different social media platforms and that may have better reach too like facebook or Instagram etc. However, I don't believe that they would be running their business without any marketing department.

They do not *need* advertising. They just want it. Big difference. Polymarket seems to think it's a casino, despite having "games" that contain strategies which are +EV. I don't blame them for thinking that way - that's how they make more profit.

A funny story came out involving one of its shillers:
https://x.com/zachxbt/status/2020831168627933453

It's impossible to place a $1m "bet" (market order) without the slippage fucking your order and buying all the shares priced at 99c. I personally saw the order book. There were only $10k liquidity on each cent on average.

Maybe we haven’t been taking notice but I’ve seen a few things that I believe are advertisement for polymarket but maybe not be that obvious to others but for me it’s an advertisement, during AJ and Jake Paul’s fight, Joshua had a polymarket chain on his neck or something that has polymarket logo on it and I considered it an advertisement because on sports like F1 only logo stickers on an F1 car is an advertisement so if a fight wears something with such logo it’s an advert for me.

Meanwhile for Paul Logan, I know him for those stupid shits but I just ignore them because I already know it’s never real.

I can attest to the fact that the Polymarket is doing so much advertising without being in the shadows anymore, mostly for important matches and fixtures that is going to gather enough crowd.
They definitely were among the sponsors of the Aj vs Logan fight and had their name just embedded on the kit and sign post around.
Even in football, Polymarket does so much to make their presence known and it is not a secret anymore.

Here is another new development on Polymarket. Soon, users will be able to place bets not only on events, but also on sentiment: they will be able to wager on the popularity of trends, brands, and public figures based on social media data. This will be done with the help of Kaito.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/aliciapark/2026/02/10/polymarket-to-offer-attention-markets-in-partnership-with-kaito-ai/

A very strange choice of partner. In my opinion, within the crypto community Kaito is perceived as an outsider that was recently kicked off X, and now it seems unable to find its niche.

Yeah, it was Kaito Yaps. They had paid bounty hunters (i.e. shills) to spam on X some brand name in as many posts as they could, and on other people's replies, that X's Head of Product Development, Nikita Bier, just banned them all from X. By an X post ironically.

Anyways... anyone with a brain should be able to take advantage of these markets.

I have seen that and the advertising on billboards, player shirts, in the stadium, and on the signboards is all another level of advertisement and it also costs more than the conventional advertisements. You will find them in one way or another in most of the major sporting events.

They have shifted from a crypto niche prediction site to a brand type advertising to a higher audience and public events, including the big fights, football games, and they are no longer a secret degen crypto platform that they were at the very beginning of their existence.

The question is about the bot they shared is a bit suspicious.
Do you think this is like an act of fraud where they give the promise of a good win, or is this penggina too adept at guessing bitcoin predictions up and down?
Any person with a half-decent brain wouldn't just share their winning strategy like that unless it's a scam or just showing off though it's almost always the former based on my observations. This logic doesn't just apply to polymarket, but any crypto gambling site in general.

There are people out there who genuinely design such bots successfully, but they never share it with anyone apart from some close people and usually can successfully earn for a short period only before something breaks.
We have logic, if you have a bot that can make a lot of money for betting in Polymarket, it is unlikely that it will be shared with others, you will enjoy yourself and continue to make money, I can become rich. Lol

I don't know why they show their betting winnings in Polymarket thanks to the bot they made, in essence they want to show off and anyone can be interested and then use the bot, it could be that they cheat in the bot.

Not only for polymarket betting I saw in X there is so bot “sniper bot” for memecoins that can look for memecoins that will rise dramatically, how great they are, I don't trust at all with any bot designed by others.

I don't know why they show their betting winnings in Polymarket thanks to the bot they made, in essence they want to show off and anyone can be interested and then use the bot, it could be that they cheat in the bot.

That bot is probably not even working, it’s most likely just there to lure people and make them believe it’s legit, so they end up getting scammed once they trust it.

In general, you really can’t trust anyone in gambling, especially those people who keep saying they have a “working method/bot” and want to share it for a subscription or some kind of fee. That’s already a big red flag for me.

At the end of the day, the only one you can really rely on is yourself. That’s the safest way.

Very strange

Betting on sentiment? This is somewhat subjective, and easier for fraudsters.

I think polymarket needs to be careful. As the project is expanding, they need to make  good business choices to keep up their good reputation and services.

They are making ads, they just hide it and not really make it obvious. They are paying people like Logan Paul to make it advertisement but they do not say it's ads so they can get away with it.

I do not think that this type of guerrilla marketing and viral influencer marketing is a bad one for them because obviously it's working and it's getting good results. We should be looking into this as something that can get good results and we are not going to really be bothered by it because it is not impacting us.

Though, I thought it was illegal for influencers in certain countries to advertise any platform and do not disclose they are getting paid or sponsored by such services. Am I wrong?

Because of procesutors wanted to go after those paid influencers and get them to pay high fines for failing to disclose their agreement with those companies, they could easily do so and get away with it.

Anyways. I don't even know why Polymarket does not push for normal advertising instead of making stealth-advertising. It sound like asking for troubles with authorities, instead of doing good business.

Polymarket seems to think it's a casino, despite having "games" that contain strategies which are +EV. I don't blame them for thinking that way - that's how they make more profit.
They say that Polymarket has added bets on Bitcoin price movements over a five-minute interval. That already looks like standard casino games, where you place a bet and see the result almost immediately.

Why do you think Polymarket sees itself as a casino?

Still, there are many people who believe in the bots they create especially by showing off millions of dollars in profits from winning prediction markets in Polymarket.

I found an X account called @PolyWin_bot in the bio where it is written "Be first to spot smart wallets and whales on @Polymarket" meaning that this project is developing a bot to track the addresses of whales with big wins and people who use this bot will get the opportunity to imitate the gambling style of the whales.

There has already been 6000 interest in their beta application in just a short time, meaning that there are still many believers in this bot.

Although I don't trust any bots myself.

Can't argue with someone who are telling about bots and other.

We all know, is part of gambling fallancy. Even in traditionals gambling scheme, in online casino to there has some bots our mind telling that's the casino are chasing us and making us to lose.

So for bots part can't really blame people who thought like thats, cause is part of gambling fallancy.

A user under the nickname Rundeep made six bets on the Polymarket platform related to Israel's military actions and was correct in every single case, earning a total of $154,000.

Later, Israeli prosecutors filed charges against a reservist and a civilian, claiming they used classified military information to place bets. Immediately after this, Rundeep stopped betting (leading to speculation that he might be one of the accused).

I find it curious: where exactly did the Israeli prosecution see a socially dangerous act in the defendants' behavior? After all, they didn't disclose secret information; they only harmed those who bet against them. If those losers were Israeli citizens, then the prosecution might have some grounds to intervene. However, Polymarket has no KYC, so the prosecution cannot know for certain that it is protecting the interests of its own citizens.

I wouldn't blame them with the bots, it's just that when Polymarket became a boom, there were so many bots on social media, of course there are legitimate bots and there are also scams. Now gambling on Polymarket seems to be trading. Grin

People like this always make a large amount, maybe they are an expert in world politics who understands very well what happened about the Israeli aggression?

I don't know enough about the current war, I mean the decisions made by world leaders.
