It's a dysregulation of the brain's neurochemicals.

They gamble as a reward for gambling basically. It is a sickness that can be treated by not doing the activity which addicted you in the first place.

And while they cannot be trusted, I think addicts (regardless of which kind) should not be treated badly.
It can happen to anyone, because nobody is immune.

If you have money and poor bankroll management. I always preferred for someone to do a risk assessment before they start gambling because people with high risk tolerance usually the that get addicted because they can endure the loses even though they are already not gambling responsibly.

It’s better to educate how much money you should use as your bankroll and your stops before you start engaging on gambling.

Once you gamble unprepared, you will have a hard time stopping yourself since you are already attracted to the idea of having profit.

There are lots of reasons why people get addicted to gambling and every gambler might have different reasons for getting addicted to it...one reason is greed and another is peeer pressure...in the aspect of greed a gambler can make profit through luck or skill and instead of just being patient or waiting a little bit the gambler gets carried away and starts chasing more profits..the wrong influence too can make people addicted too

I don't think gambling addiction happens when people take it as their source of income, but cold be as a result of trying to chase loses or trying to make fortune out of it, or try to make it an avenue to excape from poverty. Most times people gamble and forget the main porpose or reason for Gambling, and along the line they deviate and start chasing things that are not necessary. They start from just gambling for fun, to Gambling to be rich, and the desire to achieve that will leed them to lost of money and focus, and they begin to gamble endlessly And tiredlesly untill they get exhausted tired and depressed. So this is the main reason I think people get addicted and not the other way round.

Easy money. Those who think that they can make something happen in their life by using a shortcut, which in this case is gambling, then the gambling addiction comes next. If a person is so hooked on gambling, this is where he won't even realize that he is already a gambling addict.
I do believe it came from many losses. When someone tries to win back everything, and they cannot move on from all the losses that happened while he/she is gambling, it's when they will succumb to playing more just to get it back. It feels like you are cheated. So, a gambler will probably try to prove that they should be paid back, although it doesn't really work that way. It's much better if we can always forget about our losses. It's gone. There's no such thing as charity in gambling.

Both of your reasons are plausible as they can lead to gambling addiction, when a person is always in desperate need for money they see the chance of increasing what they have at hand as an opportunity they cannot miss out on and this is exactly what gambling offers, and opportunity to get alot from the little you have and of course people know that the chances of them actually winning is low they still choose to believe that their luck is bigger than everyone elses even though they've lost for the 29th time in a roll.

Addiction happening is normal since gambling by nature can be addictive, but does that automatically mean gambling should be banned. I don’t think so because most people end up addicted not because gambling exists, but because they’re being irresponsible with it.

For example, chasing losses to cover bills or betting daily to forget personal problems can slowly lead to loss of control. It keeps increasing because gambling is now easily accessible, always online, and psychologically designed to keep people hooked.

Both reason are makes sense. If they takes gambling as source of income, they will still gambling no matters the outcome. He wants to make money from gambling but don't realize the effects if he consistent gambling.

While if he still consistent gambling for other reasons, he may becomes addicted to gambling. He can lose control because gambling can tempting him to keep return. He will feels difficult to avoid gambling and may use gambling as his daily activities.

Looking for money through gambling is one of the reasons that gambling addiction affected a gambler but the process is more complex than that. When someone has not been losing before, the person tolerance to losses is poor, but gambling increase the tolerance, making losses of money to gambling tolerable and gambling addiction gradually kicks in.

Having a gambling budget and not going beyond it can be very helpful but the person will ignore this as he will be looking for means to make money from gambling.

I believe this is the major reason that people get addicted. Those who believe gambling is for fun don't get addicted if truly they believe that because they will gamble once in a while when they are bored. But, most of the time people gamble because they want to make extra income or money and when they don't get it at the first bet, they begin to chase the money that they have lost and there and then, they will begin to do revenge betting. Money is the primary purpose for betting.

No, shying away from house chores is not a reason because you will still go back to eat when you return home. If you are a married man and you run away from home to gamble, you will still meet that challenge at home when you go back. So it is not an excuse. I believe money is the primary purpose that people gamble and they become addicted to it when they are not able to control their urge and emotion.

Addiction is caused by greed and lack of self control, if as a gambler you have these two negative attitudes to gambling it means that you're addicted, I think all other causes narrows down to these two. Greed means over gambling when winning for continuous winnings which you will most likely lose everything back to the casino and chasing loses which can make you go broke. Lack of self control which is not knowing when to stop and using a lot of money that you cannot afford to loose to gamble, when you don't have money you will sell your property and borrowing to gamble. These are the core reasons for addiction, if you can be in charge of your emotions in gambling you won't be addicted.

1. Desperation to make money in gambling
2. Unrealistic expectations
3. Weak minds.

Most gamblers are there to make money, and even those who claimed they were there initially for the fun ended up wanting the money. It's still good until they misplaced gambling door for success door. Also, many gamblers are unrealistic in their expectations, they want the success and want it fast. The curious is what triggers the emotion in this category, as it drives them crazy in the belief and search for the success. While the weakness in the mind is another factor, because if your mind is strong, you would fight unrealistic expectations and desperation by being disciplined and focused toward the reality. But the reverse is the case here.

I have been an addict before but when I am not happy and passing through a tough situation, gambling as never come my mind before, but the reason I was addicted was because I wanted to make money from gambling, the weakest point while gambling is when I am losing already, but while winning also is another weak point as I can become more reckless while while winning.

It can happen due to lot of reasons, and everyone might have different ones. Let's take someone who just start for fun but they won some good money that is his entire mont's salary just in a day that will trigger his greedy part so he might be forcing to gamble more and over the period it will bring addiction.

One who keep gambling no matter winning or losing can also be addicted.
