All that matters these days is who's got the money, power or authority. Nothing else matters. Values don't mean anything.
What a poor life is that. What do you do at night when alone with your thoughts, how many days will you last till madness? Why would you say so? Whatever he said is unfortunately the reality of the world we live in today, and every person with a clear vision, an uncontrolled mindset, and the ability to comprehend and accept reality when they see it should be able to see this happening around them. Of course, if you are someone who has money, power, and authority, you might not be among those who can see these things in society, but if you are not, you will probably see what is happening with those who don't have these things by those who have them. It is harsh, but it is true. Values mean nothing for the majority in this world anymore, people are ready to do anything only to make money, they can even kill others, and not only others, those who are the closest to them, for what? Money and power, and of course, they both come together because those who have money have the power with them as well. If you are poor, you have nothing at all, you are not even considered anything by others around you who are not at the same standard as you. The world is starting to become the worst place over time, not for everyone, though, but just for those who don't have money and power.

Very obvious matter rolling in every street in every nation. Very discouraging how you can even be trampled upon by the people you are standing for in some of the situations of keeping a good name. Painful how religions that is supposed to catapult balanced society are propagators of imbalance openly or silently. Good name isn't necessarily self-righteousness because laws exists and keeping to it is also a good name but it is clear what it is about the law mostly in those nations where it's obvious the level of lawlessness. You know what's funny? It's how even bad names wants good names around them, that's they want loyal and honest people to work with even in their bad names. This clearly implies that good name, that's abiding by society balance not necessarily self-righteousness can't be nonsense even if the hand is empty. Even people who don't care about it, people who just want the cash all wants good names directly and indirectly.
Having a good name and having empty hand I think are two different things because having good name doesn't mean you will have empty hand and having empty hand doesn't mean you have good name.

All that matters these days is who's got the money, power or authority. Nothing else matters. Values don't mean anything. There is no line people cant cross for what they want. People have no principles or guidelines anymore. But I don't believe you have to be just like them to survive in this world. You can have values and principles and lines you cant cross and still be successful in that field. You may not be as successful as they are, but you're not in a competition with them.
Money and power rules the world bro, if you're not flexible at all, you risk being sidelined or at worst wiped out and replaced with who is willing to play the game better. Still, you don't totally have to sell your conscience to be relevant, you can do what you can and yet not stand in the way of powerful people when they do their shits. It is hard for people who are rigid with discipline to climb to the top and worse for people who compromise very easily because they just serve as puppets, you should have a blend of the two, not too rigid, and uphold principles when it is very necessary. You must not fight powerful people because of your values and principles, there is a level of compromise that becomes necessary most times, else you would be left behind when the ship is sailing to a different course. My country had an election where the sitting candidate lost, and people expected him to fight because it was assumed that the election was rigged, but he didn't fight; he gently stepped down, and till this day, people call him weak, but not to me. There would have been so much bloodshed of innocence if he had decided to fight, and he doesn't want that on his conscience, and that is something I can respect, especially from a politician. He moved on to better things today simply because he held on to his values and never crossed the line he set for himself. So we don't need to be the way society or the world sets for us, we can be different.
The sitting president gave up his seat willingly, he didn't loose. If he wanted to win, he would've changed the INEC chairman which was obviously working against him even before the election. I would say he didn't want to continue, he got tired of the pressure from the Presidential seat. If he really wanted to fight for his position, he would have done that long before the elections was held.

The moral capital that they'd built for generations couldn't pay salaries or fund operations. It just evaporated.
Here's an important distinction, moral reputation is not a substitute for money in itself but it serves as a basis for raising money. If the priorities of funders change, even the most respected institutions can face financial difficulties. So it's more reasonable to call this a failure of moral capital than a result of a change in funding sources. The second someone says your reputation isn't worth anything to them, it is worthless.
It's not always so final. One person or institution may not value your reputation, but someone else might, the biggest advantage of a good reputation is that it increases the likelihood of creating new relationships and opportunities. It's value does not disappear overnight, although its impact can be more or less depending on time and circumstances.

Having a good reputation doesn’t come with money, we all know that. But, it’s better to have a good reputation than doing bad things just to get money. Because if you are really destined to be rich in life having a good reputation can be the reason to make it. For example, an organisation wants to bring a development in the community and you are the one with the best reputation that they can trust with the project as a supervisor, you see you can get some income through there, most expecially if the project it a building project, but if you have a bad reputation and have money there are many things money can’t buy. And people can still deny your for some certain things because of your bad reputation, that is just it.

That's how trust and reputation works. Without further knowing you, as long as someone who's also trusted by the third party trusts you. Then, that's how they'll select the next person to handle such important tasks that they're still looking for someone to take care of. And knowing good people, they're not selfish and they don't might whether they're empty handed or not. There's a deeper appreciation they have for their lives. They value more the values than the what they can benefit from if they do them wrong. It's a mixed belief while for the opposing people, they'd say that reputation won't feed their empty stomachs.

Surely every body can not like you either because of your progress or you are not making progress as funny as this sounds, there is no lie in it because I have seen people who still envy and jealous people who don't have money or property so it's not only people with wealth and property are been dislike or envy. And the worst mistake one will ever do is thinking on how to make this people like them or be cool with them, that will be a total waste because it is a normal thing to be dislike by people.
Exactly, you can't please everyone on earth, despite how good Jesus Christ is, there are still some people who dislike Him but that doesn't stop Him being Himself. That is how we ought to act: be good, and one should not waste life to please others just like you said because even the ones you are trying to please might be the one to cut your life short. Keep doing the good work and the right people will be attracted to you and that will bring you peace and many other good things. Anybody that is still looking for a way to please everyone on earth is not ready to leave live a successful life, because human beings are often ungrateful. Honestly, we don't need to bother ourselves too much for anyone else at all, because at the end of the day, the person that you are pleasing will do everything possible to bring you down to zero. This is not a new thing anymore because I have experienced it many times, and I have decided not to bother myself too much for anybody again, because they don't usually look back when they are planning evil against you.

That's the funniest part, surely there are people who has good name but don't have anything sometimes I keep asking myself that if someone is that good then why can't they help him out instead of calling him names for nothing? Some people are just popular when they don't even have anything, I rather have money but not well know or popular. the question is what am i even profiting from being popular? Nowadays it's not even good to be famous or popular because haters are all over the corner once they see that you're becoming popular they will look for a way to bring you down.
For me, I see things different, I don't think when one door closes, all other options will forever refuse to present it self, for facts it's going to be painful that after such level of hardwork and reputation built, it all comes to naught when the organization falls but you can always get up and try again. Good name has always been a standard for me, and no matter the situation it's always good name for me. I can't even imagine the world if everybody picks bad over good name, literally the whole economy will fall.

Having a good name means that you are probably popular for being a noble person but you have nothing else attached to your name, no cash reward for having a good name and I ask if it's really worth it. If having a good name is going to leave me empty handed then I don't want it because the world only understands what they see around you and not what you stand for, a bad politician with a bad name but fully loaded hands is exactly what the people thrive and understand and is it Worth it? For some people it is and for people like me I want a good name but not the popular type and still be successful.

This is not a new thing anymore because I have experienced it many times, and I have decided not to bother myself too much for anybody again, because they don't usually look back when they are planning evil against you. This was actually tested and found to be very true by a "company" in my country. There was a small town with like maybe 5000 people, nothing more, probably not even that much, could be less. They were known for their tomatoes, but not like too much; not like they were famous and everyone wanted to get some. They had basically nothing; it was a poor place, but in a way where they still survived and stayed alive. What they did was, they gathered everyone around, built a whole company with them, and everyone had a share in it. And that company basically started by every single tomato farmer bringing their tomato to them; they put up a small capital, and built a "factory", and by that I mean like literally just a house size place, nothing big, where tomatoes would be canned to make sure it lasts longer, and they were preserved there. So every farmer would bring their tomatoes there, and then it would be canned, and then it would be shipped to the city to be sold. Right now, it is so big that the town has over 120k people living there; imagine how big it got that everyone kept going there. So yeah, in theory, if you only farm, then you won't grow too big, but if you get together, you could do something much larger together.

If reputation and moral capital can simply disappear that fast, what is actually of value? Is it just raw leverage - to be able to walk away, the thing other people need that only you've got?
Well, reputation & moral capital can simply disappear pretty fast, but leverage & money can disappear even faster... But let's not look at that as some race or competition, history is full of examples where individuals, companies, and countries had something in one moment, and almost nothing in the next... for zillion reasons. All that means we can't rely on any single thing... I guess we need to be flexibile and to know how to use what we have, but that's hard to do without making mistakes. We live to learn, something new every day... but what we learn we need to apply, that's the hard part.

The important thing is not to be like an empty barrel, making noise. Nods come when they pair data with facts. In principle, everyone needs recognition for the dedication they have put in or tried. Talking too much is also not good in the end, because when we talk for more than an hour, the context will wander and there will be more mistakes than right.

Options are always open but the question is, are you open to those options. Some people build reputation on pipeline for long, try to make good names, good work for long time but when it's time for changes, they don't want to change. The changes you are making is not having any adverse effect on the reputation you have built, it's just adjusting to the society so you can leave good and as well remain proficient with the changes of the economy. There was a time AGRA was introduced to African to support Agriculture, the mission is to boost agriculture product and reduce pest on farms through seeding. The farmers were protesting that they don't need the seeds that west are trying to make changes to their system, that Africa products are the best but guess what? They have been consuming genetic modified foods for long and they don't know, this probably got their attention as it was brought to their notice. There is no single commercial agricultural products in the last 30 years that has not been modified

Many industries and also individuals has built their name name and reputation for years, but yet when there's changes happen in their environment. Those industries got freeze and it happen because they are afraid to take risk to do some changes because they afraid to lose their identity. But in reality its good to adjust on changes so that they remain effective and remain relevant on the scene. Yeah that case of Agra is best example for this because they didn't actually know that what they are consuming has been modified for lots of decades. That indicate already that changes is beneficial for them. Especially if they are making things simple, transparent and also became more efficient.

Change is inevitable, whether if those people will accept it or not. The only thing they need to know is what type of changes can help them improve and can provide a long term sustainability. And yes, for the AGRA example, it shows that the changes happen with their food brought real benefits. The only thing that was missed is that the people also need a clear information and of course the trust to accept those changes. Adaptation can be easier when supported by both knowledge and trust.

What I realized in this life is that if you're expecting praises and validations from everybody because of your good act you would be disappointed because there is no how you can please everybody no matter how you try so we should do good for the sake of it, never expect praises from everyone. I've also found out that when the going is smooth and everybody is benefiting you will have many friends but when the going becomes tough a lot people would abandon you, there is a realization that comes with it that it can devastate some good people.
Good people are not that many in the world again hence they need to stop allowing people to change them because if they keep changing then we will be left with bad people all over the world and that is not good . Already we have began to see how bad people are affecting the government and increasing the rate of war and hunger in the world, people are now chasing after money which turns them to become more evil as money has a power that takeover those seeking for it as they can do anything so they become willing to do many unethical things just to get money.

Changes is the only constant thing in life ,many prefer good names while been empty, but with the changes now ,they have come to realize that having a good name without no benefits attached to it means nothing , so some prefer now to hide their real identity, we all know that good name is better ,but looking for validation from people will only cost you yourself, that is why it may seem like many people want something in their hand to attached to the good name ,rather than remaining the same, which you may not even earn that which you desire .

Today, we're increasingly witnessing bad politicians with deep pockets coming to power. They have no understanding of how the political system works and are incapable of solving the country's problems. They want power and nothing more. It drives them crazy and puts millions of ordinary people's lives at risk. This is a very dangerous trend, which has already led to disaster in the form of several wars that show no sign of stopping. And why do they need war? They're using it as a cover-up and trying to distract public attention from domestic problems that are snowballing every day. And who will fix all this? And will it even be possible?

This has become a recurring pattern during elections, likely because certain candidates possess the financial resources to run as you noted, those with substantial funds find it easier to secure power. Yet, if we look at the current landscape young people play a pivotal role. While they may lag behind in terms of financial readiness, they often excel in other areas such as their approach to engagement and their capacity to honor the public trust placed in them to safeguard and uphold the people's aspirations. Young people are frequently better equipped to navigate political processes and operate within established rules. Nevertheless, the current reality remains dominated by those with money, as financial resources make the path to power much easier. In today's world, politics is essential, but it must be transparent rather than opaque. Our goal is clear we must properly uphold the trust placed in us by the public ensuring that confidence extends beyond just a single term. Therefore, transparency is crucial in carrying out our duties, and our objective remains to engage in politics with complete openness.

n my country, it's simply impossible to participate in politics. Power has been usurped by a bloodthirsty dictator who doesn't allow anyone to manage the state or its resources. There were those who did decide to act as opposition and are now dead. So, it's not all that clear-cut. Yes, there are quite promising young people, but by now they've all been forced out of the country. They're enemies now. They're even being hunted, not to mention they're all under criminal prosecution.
