“Anonymous casino” is a funny label, shouldn’t it be “anonymous gambler” instead

I keep seeing sites market themselves as an “anonymous casino”, but it feels like a weird flex. If the casino is “anonymous”, it usually just means we don’t know who’s behind it, while they can still know us anytime once KYC gets involved.

So shouldn’t it be “anonymous gambler” instead? Privacy should protect the player, not just hide the operator.

Do you see this as pure marketing, or does “anonymous” actually matter to you?

Do not let the anonymous of a thing confuse you at all, it is not different but the same thing as no KYC casinos which many users on this forum like and there are many gambling sites that have exposure on this forum to us members and they are no KYC (anonymous). A gambling site that you do not support KYC is an anonymous gambling site.

Well it's just a tag so we can't take the meaning literally and now we need to look into the truth behind 100% anonymous or No KYC casino where you are still asked to complete KYC if they suspect of money launder or for other reasons. So we don't have many casinos who tag themselves as no KYC casinos are not 100% anonymous.

Indeed anonymous casino sound weird and somehow suspicious. I would not mind to be anonymous for casino. I would not mind to gamble against anymous gambler. But anonymous casino? For me this is kind of a flag, that if something goes wrong, I should not hope to get my problem solved. Back in days anonymous crypto team was a huge flag for senting money to the project. This should not be a reason a casino should be considered anonymous. I think we are moving towards no licensed gambling sites.

How about this: a gambling site that the person who created it is not known to the public or pseudonymous, if the gambling site is licensed and require KYC, what would it be called? It is the person that is anonymous or pseudonymous, not the casino.

How casinos is designed is different from if the casino owner is anonymous or not.

You can see it in the signatures of Betpanda campaign members, they call it an anonymous and instant online casino. And btw, they have a good reputation here. Maybe they’re not asking for KYC for now, but sooner or later they probably will, especially if they’re licensed. A license basically means they’ll have to follow whatever their regulators require.

But honestly, these kinds of anonymous ads don’t mean much anymore. If we’re talking truly anonymous, that was more like the old decentralized style, like during the DirectBet era. That’s the best example I can think of where anonymity actually felt real.

Nowadays, that kind of setup isn’t really allowed anymore because it’s basically operating without a license, and that’s illegal in most places.

Hard to see a reputable casino implementing zero KYC procedures since even those top rated casino don't ask KYC upfront still have certain conditions that they will eventually asked this requirements.

That's why choose the casino you are playing and see if they are really transparent. Since usually those new casino market their site as no KYC compliant platform but they are just hiding that requirements on their TOS. So reading is important so no surprise factor will happen and they will be aware of any possible implementation asked by the casino. That anonymous and no KYC thing is pure marketing.

Like you said, labeling yourself as "anonymous" means that your identity is hidden; or no one knows any information about you. Again, that will defeat the purpose of a casino when it advertises itself as anonymous. Perhaps it is indeed a marketing ploy to attract users to visit their website and increase traffic.

In conclusion, the idea of marketing yourself as "anonymous" simply does not work as it is incompatible with one another. Obviously, anonymity refers to its users who are not obliged to submit any KYC documents but be careful with these kinds of websites.

Actually there  customers are supposed to be addressed as their name implies, it is not right for a casino to be anonymous and still expect their customers (gamblers) to be open to them by doing KYC in such gambling site, because they pose a great threat of fraud to their customers. I myself can not advice anyone to patronize them, because their intentions are not genuine if you ask me.

It is not a good marketing skill, and anonymous Matter to me because the name signifies that they can go away with my fund someday if I win big. And I may not be able to recover it because they are anonymous.

It is use of language which is referring to the players. It is saying the casino operates on an anonymous basis, not taking logs or information of the users that register there. Same with the "no-KYC" and "privacy" tag, they are features the players there enjoy.

Most gamblers do not bother to check who the owners of a casinos are.

I see there's nothing wrong with the label as long as that anon casino was not implement KYC policy to its users. When anon casino implement KYC policy to their users, they're fooling their users.

The pure anon casino should be a casino that never implement KYC policy to their users. It's protecting the privacy of casino operator and its users. However, the problem is that withdrawing from this kind of casino has always been so stressful.

Betpanda, Casinopunkz and a few other casinos promote themselves as anonymous casinos on this forum. From their ANN title, you can always see the 'anonymous' added as part of their features.

I am always in favor of not sharing my personal data with any entities, whether it’s a casino or any other organization, especially a private one. Such data can be sold or used against their owners, and there are no real guarantees that this information won’t be sold or hacked. That’s why anonymity in any sphere, not only in gambling, is very important to me. As for the organization providing the services, the situation is the opposite information about it should be openly available. It’s an obvious marketing scheme since there’s true anonymous casino with license to operate. Even anonymous gambler is not 100% guaranteed at all time because they still required KYC at some point in the future while user is force to comply that when their funds is trapped.

I think the real meaning of that tag is they promote anonymity by allowing VPN for player to play anonymously since they don’t require KYC as much as possible.

It's same thing as no kyc casino. Not really a form of marketing but some might take the no kyc phrase as a marketing means to lure gamblers who love privacy into playing on their casino. I still remember when we had a lot of such casino, they were genuine and the no kyc made it very smooth experience for us gamblers. Now we barly have any casino that's fully non kyc. Even if they claim to be non kyc, at some point they suddenly require you to cooperate with their terms in other to continue playing or worse make a withdrawal. That's not fair. If you so much claim to be non kyc, then there should be no reason that would make you request a users data in the future..
