People often don't want to take responsibility alone. Gambling is a prime example of this, because if someone is drowning, it's much easier on their conscience if someone else is drowning with them, or even better, faster. That's human nature. Many gamblers try to soothe their conscience when they lose by thinking that a neighbor or friend lost much more at an online or brick-and-mortar casino.

Well, don't talk as if gambling is such a bad thing bud, gambling is not a bad habit, you simply have to learn how to stay within your limit and only risk what you can afford to risk, and don't try to gamble every time but only times when you are really in the mode to, this way, you treat gambling as a fun thing to do and not an activity that is treated as a priority..

There was no coercion involved, so we had the right to refuse, even if there had been coercion, we still had the right to refuse, but yes, the lure of a big win was so strong that sometimes it was difficult to avoid or refuse, and I myself have experienced this. I was upset and blamed my friend for his invitation, which caused me to lose money, but I realized that it was also my own fault for agreeing to join him and following his advice, especially since he had confidently claimed he could win.

Yes, this has happened so many times. There were many attempts to persuade them to gamble, especially the one where they lost a significant amount. They were upset that they were the only ones left without money and wanted someone else to share their loss. Sounds pretty sketchy to me, and I wouldn't go gambling just because some guy or my neighbor tell to do it because he thinks that we will win or he could win anything at all. Don't ever put money on something that you dont really understand. I've always wondered what motivates such "well-wishers" who persuade another person. It is clear that if this is a pyramid scheme or some kind of illegal "business", then the person has his own interest. But he's not here! He doesn't ask to share the winnings with him, if there is one. I don't understand the meaning of this.

I don't have the strength to argue with such type of person as you try to persuade me. The only thing which I will try to do is ask you to show me your own bet slip and, if you show me, then I will ask you to either lend me the money, since you believe it's a sure game and the lending agreement will be if the game plays according to plan I will repay and still give you some part of the money but if it don't, I don't have to repay you that money.

I swear, it is not worth having such fraudulent and a deceitful person as a neighbor and to make things worst he didn't even respect the fact  that op is preparing for church,  if you have to do more findings you will realize that the surpose person trying to persuade someone hasn't even bet his talk less of showing off his own bet slips. It's not proper trying to talk someone into a game against his will because gambling is a game of will and personal decisions.

Yes many time I experience things like this, but just because they are my friend i would do one time, but will not do it again, I guess it should be in yourself to control things, especially if it will ruin your life, we know what will happen next, you will get hook, and it will be difficult to turnaround when needed, so from the start its either give them a small favor by doing it once , or just say you really don't want to do it, because you already made a bow or a promise, people will understand if you really told  them what you really feel about it.
