Why is the default swap such a big issue?  I do not even remember the last time I used another Instant Exchange whether they had any default pair or a 'Choose..' showing no Cryptocurrency by default but forcing the user to choose the pair instead.  For an exchange that claims itself to be private and offer real privacy, Monero and Bitcoin are the main pairs I would consider too.

After visiting the exchange, using it several times, today I just noticed that by an exchange default settings, when a user visits the exchange site, the main page is for a swap from XMR to BTC.
https://b1exch.to/

I know that it is possible to choose the swap flow from BTC to XMR easily but the default setting makes me thinking like was it done by intention. Just my thinking, it can be set default by BTC to XMR, then anyone want to have an opposite swap flow, they can change it as XMR to BTC.
Wut? Cheesy

In a parallel universe...

See, it works both ways. Tongue

If you check their /Liquidity page, you'll see XMR has by far the biggest volume most of the time: https://b1exch.to/Liquidity

I would say they know what they're doing by choosing this as the default pair. And anyways... it takes 1 click to reverse the pair? Tongue

Good to know you have used it. If you have used the service, you should be using more affirmative phrase than believe. We use believe when we don't verify. Glad to know you used the exchange
I'm not alone most of us have used the exchange because it's now an important exchange for whole crypto users and those who know about such good exchanges often use those exchanges. When I said I believe, I was referring to the pools that they use to refill their own liquidity. I said that I believe that such a good exchange will always prefer to choose good pools to add liquidity.

I used the word believe because I personally don't know that which pools or exchanges b1exch use to refill their liquidity but as far as I know they've been doing well that's why I still think that they refill their liquidity from genuine sources and coins from such sources are always low in AML and can be safely transferred to centralized exchanges. However, one should always check the AML score of coins before sending to any centralized exchange for safety.

One click to reverse it, two to four clicks to change it.  To me it is not important anyway.  I actually thank b1exch for not setting a pair like Bitcoin to Tether instead, that would be stupid.

I just tried to visit the website through the Onion link and I was requested to complete a human verification but as soon as I clicked it I was redirected to,

'Page not found
The page you're looking for doesn't exist or has been moved'

I went back to the home page, verified successfully and had no problems since but I never had this 'Page not found' error when using the website either.

If more information is of any help.  I was using Tor Browser, no Java Script.

I think they've added some type of security layer on Onion version of the site. After reading your post I also visited the site and same thing happened to me, at first attempt when I clicked on human verification I was also redirected to that Page not found error but after clicking on swap I reached to the site without any issue.

I tried it once again to see what type of error is that, in my second attempt when I clicked on human verification I got a message 'Access granted" and I was into to the exchange within 2-3 seconds. I repeat the same for third time and in my third attempt it didn't ask for that human verification thing.

I just went through the exact same steps, and I encountered the same error, but all I had to do was click the "Go home" link on that same page, and I was immediately redirected to the homepage, where the site’s functionality loaded. However, at the bottom of the page, two "Verify you are human" captcha blocks appeared. But after that, when I refreshed the page, everything worked fine - the CAPTCHA passed correctly, and the script redirected me to the site’s homepage, where there were no more errors.

Same here, along with the other users. As someone else already said, some kind of "firewall" to prevent spam traffic has been implemented and perhaps the redirect link leads to a blank page, which results in the error of "Page not found". Doesn't seem to be a huge issue as it performs normally after returning to the homepage.

Edit: I just noticed that this is my 6000th post, wooo!

Just tested at mine. The same problem also appeared, but I continued with "check status" where I got a page for checking the order ID. After that, he sent me back to the initial verification, which he successfully passed this time

Sometimes I also face issues like this, but don't rush to make a post immediately because in many cases it can happen because of network problems too. I have noticed here that those who have posted about such problems, maximum problems are solved by trying again. Above all, if I face a problem, I try again and if I see that it is fixed then there is no need to post and inform again.

Edit: I just noticed that this is my 6000th post, wooo!
Wow, you have really made a lot of posts already, you’ve now reached the 6000 posts milestone. This one deserves celebration, you should give us small (treat) for this happiness.Grin (Just fun, Please don't mind.)

~

I guess this will depend on the frequent use of coins, and it seems like you, you're active too with the bitcoin transactions, but it's a good idea too, people can save their preferred pair. But to implement this, I dont have an idea too at the same time, for me, having a few clicks is quite enough just to swap to the coin I want. Just a few suggestions, I guess, which is the loading of the swaps, it takes around ~4 seconds before the pair, or because there is a back-end process that happens, and not just a JS script to switch pair names.

On this service, to see how many coins I'll receive for an exchange, I need to enter my receiving address.
I don't think this is very convenient if I want to see the exchange terms. Wouldn't it be better to show the exchange rate first and then ask me to enter my receiving address?

Yes, this same question came to my mind today too when I used b1exch exchange. To check how much coin I would receive after exchange, I had to enter the receiver’s address first and then move to the confirmation step before seeing the final amount. While trying to check it that way, some swap entries were not completed properly. Even today, one of my entries did not complete while I was trying to view it.

It would actually be much better if users could see the exact amount they will receive after fees are deducted before entering the recipient address and confirming the swap.

No, I don't think it's the biggest issue so far. Users always follow their desired direction for swapping. Doesn't matter what's the default swap direction on the site. It would be blank as well, because the site won't know which pair we are going to swap. Otherwise, as I told you before, most swapped pairs would be default swap directions.

On this service, to see how many coins I'll receive for an exchange, I need to enter my receiving address.

Yes, I agree with you. It's better to see what the exchange rates are before entering the address. In the current system I can see when you go to the next step, you will see the exchange rates. I think users should be able to see the exchange rates when they input the amount of coins they are getting as exchange. Team B1exch should consider this implementation.

Is the API working now?

I'm seeing https://b1exch.to/Api now, which wasn't available before.

Does that mean we can start using it immediately?

Keep in mind, it could also be a scraper or some sort of chain analysis company trying to probe all the orders for sending/receiving addresses.

So I do feel like the current implementation of requiring you to type your receiving address is safer. The order does get deleted anyway.

the Icarus cards mentioned here by b1ack are now ready and can be raffled by b1exch.to Smiley
there are 10 cards in total (serials and their addresses can be found in the list below) which were only made possible through the excellent collab with icopress and b1exch!

a few words about the b1exch.to cards - on the one side you can find the hologram which protects the private key in the form of a qr-code printed on the card (which is additionally secured with a piece of paper). Below the hologram, you'll see the text: 1mBTC (Buyer funded), which means you can optionally fund/load this card with this amount or any other amount you choose
and on the another side you can find the serial (top center), BTC address (bottom center), qr-code of the respective BTC address, the block time of the production, website-link and a unique auth-key that provides additional protection for the cards' authenticity (center).
in addition, both sides are professionally laminated, feature various uv-elements (to prevent fakes) and have a top quality!

On this service, to see how many coins I'll receive for an exchange, I need to enter my receiving address.
I don't think this is very convenient if I want to see the exchange terms. Wouldn't it be better to show the exchange rate first and then ask me to enter my receiving address?

Keep in mind, it could also be a scraper or some sort of chain analysis company trying to probe all the orders for sending/receiving addresses.

So I do feel like the current implementation of requiring you to type your receiving address is safer. The order does get deleted anyway.
If this is done for security reasons, then I'm fine with it, but I want to point out that this is not a mixer, but an exchange service. The exchange doesn't require KYC, but if a user requires additional security for their transactions to protect against blockchain analyzers, they should take the necessary measures themselves.

The coins one receives from b1exch come form genuine pools and they are not very high in AML. A necessary step to take is to always create a separate wallet address when using no KYC exchange and only send the received coins to a centralized exchange after doing proper AML checks. The AML thing is one of the biggest drama of this time, and the centralized exchanges can use it as excuse to freeze the funds.
