My blood pressure is 180/190 is it good to play gamble in this situation?

A friend of my reach at to me who has been diagnosed of high blood pressure that he needs to use  $60 to play game so to me I have adviced him with the little that I can but he still insists of gambling with the money,to me I ask again is it advisable to gamble when someone blood pressure is higher.

It depends on the situation.
1. Is he addicted to gambling?
2. Is he getting affected whenever he lost his money in gambling?
3. Is gambling doesn't affect his current high blood pressure?

If he's addicted to gambling, and he's being affected negatively whenever he losses his money on it then the best advice would be to stop just like what others said here. If gambling affects his current life status then it's better to stay away from gambling and instead of using it to gamble, it would be better if he will be using that money to buy his maintenance or medication. Correct me, but if you have a high blood pressure, the maintenance will take a long time before you recover from it. Some will take their whole life taking their medication.

For me, it isn't recommendable to gamble if you have that kind of illness, but it doesn't mean that it's not advisable. I mean if he can control his emotions especially when he's losing then there's no reason for him to stop.

If your blood pressure is high, you need to take medication and also check for cholesterol tests. The excitement of gambling is dangerous for angina pectoris (it can trigger an attack). In my honest opinion if someone’s blood pressure is already that high 180/190, gambling is really not advisable at that moment. Gambling can cause stress, excitement & tension especially when placing high stakes & all of these can make blood pressure go even higher. Health should always come first, no game or possible win is worth risking your life if your friend really wants to gamble it’s better for him to rest first, calm down, take his prescribed medicine & consult a doctor before doing any stressful activity.

I have a high bp but still manage to play gambling properly even on high stakes game. A high bp person can still gamble normally if he is just gambling an amount what he can afford to lose.

In your friend’s case, he is borrowing money just to gamble which means he can’t afford to gamble that time due to lack of funds therefore I believe stopping is the right call.

180/190 ? That is freaking a lot, when 120-130 is normal for an adult. That is not a joke. If anyone has that high BP, better take any kind of a rest. Why would anyone risk health to gamble? Irresponsible is a light word to describe a person who wants to gamble under such health condition. I would contact a doctor. Even if doc would give me just a pill or dont do much, it is better to have a professional nearby. Who knows what would happen next? Is that guy sure that there are people around experienced enough to help?

Your friend is already hypertensive. Let him to gamble even more is just slowly killing him. Gambling can trigger his emotion, and his hypertensive is going even higher, then it can lead into the stroke or aneurisma. It's not only that hypertensive crisis can also lead him to various desease.

If you're a good friend, then never hand him money. So tell him to recover himself. If you can prevent him from gambling, congrats you saved others lives.

As a person with HBP, 180/190 is almost impossible or probably a near-fatal experience.
If it's only systolic, then 180 or 190 is possible, but still, you'll feel like crap, and you'll want to get hospitalized.
190 diastolic is near death lol. In this situation, I'd be amazed if you manage to stay alive, let alone gambling.

Anyway, about HBP, gambling is fine. You can play while in bed with your cellphone. It will only affect BP if you don't sleep and continue playing.

It is totally unacceptable for such person to go close to gambling because it's obvious that he cannot withstand the risk. Gambling is a risky game even people that doesn't experience high blood pressure are still find it hard to cope with the losses talkles of someone that is not healthy.

 However, I would still say that you keep on advising him maybe he might decide to change one day because it will be very bad for him engage in gambling, so don't give up on him I know that is not easy to handle such person but just do your best.

The best solution would be to take a break from gaming and focus on your health. High blood pressure is a sign that your health is not in order and you need to see a doctor to diagnose the problem. Secondly, if a person prioritizes gaming over their health, this is a clear sign of addiction, and as a friend, you should intervene and explain why they are on the wrong path and need to reconsider their outlook on life, as things will only get much worse.

It is not good for someone with high blood pressure to make high stake gamble. Try as much as you can to discourage that your friend from gambling with an amount that might make things worse for him should things not go as planned. I don't really know why some people don't ever want to take their life serious. If he can't stay without gambling, at least let him gamble with small money that he won't even feel if the bet don't play. If he doesn't want to listen to you, make sure you let his family members know so they will also make efforts to stop him. Should he go ahead and gamble that high and something happens to him, you will blame yourself for not putting enough efforts to stop him.

Also if you manage to decrease this high number I don't recommend doing anything that can make your blood pressure to rise again, like gambling for example.

High blood pressure is really a very dangerous thing for one to have, and with such high BP, it is not advisable to risk too much, to expect or anticipate too much because those things can lead to the risk of it and the resultant of it is always very bad. I am still thinking how relatable this can be to gambling because even as a normal person without any blood pressure, if you risk too much than you can afford to lose or anticipate for a higher outcome and never came out as such, you’ll definitely feel sad in your heart and people with high BP could have a bad experience worst than yours. The gambling market is full of uncertainties, so placing a very high risk bet can be very dangerous for one with high BP. High BP doesn’t stop you from gambling if you can bet with an amount you can afford to lose, this is just the way it is.

How can the diastolic BP be 190? Its probably a typo, must be ~120.

In either case, I would not suggest it. A BP of that high level classifies as Hypertensive emergency and can lead to loss of vision, limb paralysis or a heart attack. That person should definitely seek medical attention and not gambling is the least important things in their lives.

From what I understand, having high blood pressure don't matter that much because it's a medical condition that can be managed and it don't stop you from gambling, let the person just take it's medication seriously and for gambling it do not cause stress and I don't think gambling is the real problem and  let the person just manage it's health issue because life must go on.

I think everyone should take some restraint in such situations. Because high blood pressure can bring something harmful to the body. Exactly. It is fatal for normal people, if sustained for more than a few days. The maximum I got was 130, and I freaked out when I got the readings. Anything above 180 would mean a very high risk of getting stroke. In India, anything above 180 is classified as a medical emergency, which requires immediate medical assistance (I don't know about other countries, but I guess the criteria will be similar). Apart from stroke, there is a heightened chance of getting kidney disease, heart attack or eye damage. Unfortunately the OP doesn't seems to be taking his condition seriously.

Well if you know that you’re not healthy in that regards of having a high blood pressure and you have that tendency of over thinking when you gamble, I think I would tell you to be careful with whatever that would be detrimental to your health, which is why you have to be very very careful with your heath, and if you feel comfortable gambling and you think you can accommodate the tendency of gambling why not you can also keep gambling, but if in a situation when you gamble and it doesn’t go your way and at that point you have lost some money and your blood pressure like you said increases I would suggest that you should be careful with whatever you’re doing and you should be considering your health, like they always say health is wealth, you can only possibly enjoy your wealth when you’re alive, and always try to gamble with caution and precision.
