Op we are talking about live games and not replay or highlights. As I saw your topic, I just noticed that your were talking about Manchester United. There's no script in Manchester United games. Has I have Said many times, there are people that can make team do well and have a great performance. The coach and the players. Now it is very clear that they were suffering from coaching. Manchester United is among the top five good teams in the English Premier League now. This is a miracle for me too but I know that there was no script in any live game in football.

Well I am not in anyway pointing out to any club and the changes they made, but generally In The case of a club changing their coach or player has nothing to do with football being scripted. I agree with you that when a club makes some changes, the club becomes positive at times and it could as well go worst, but we can not capitalize on the good side. When ever changes are made, there is a high chance that the club will improve but that does not make it being scripted.

I cannot rule out the fact that some players may deliberately not follow the coach's instructions in lower leagues, but in the English Premier League such actions of a player may negatively affect them. As for Manchester United and the appointment of a head coach, all the players want to show their best qualities in order to gain a foothold in the main squad.

I don’t really know what to say, but if football is scripted am sure most people will have noticed it, and people will have stopped watching football if it’s scripted. I know some crazy things happened when it comes to football which we going to start thinking maybe it’s scripted, but their is no evidence for that, so I will say those things just happen as a coincidence and not because it is scripted. This week’s result is surprising, Manchester city lost, Arsenal played draw, how did that even happen, why is it that now that Manchester city performance is down, then Arsenal performance is also dropping.

I was just discussing a similar topic with my friends tonight after the shocking win for Manchester United. I sincerely went with a straight win for Manchester City considering the fact that United has been out of form and lack scoring prowess as compared to man city who does so effortlessly. I became obviously disappointed by the results and was explaining that this is one reason why I prefer to play such games handicap, instead of going for a straight win. Welcome to the EPL someone capped and we all laughed.

Still, I expressed similar concerns because only a few days Amorim was sacked and suddenly the team spirit is heightened by the signing of a new manager that they perform exceptionally and are even among the first four in the table.
These matches may be scripted or not, but I know for the match to be scripted would mean match fixing and that's a huge problem.

New coach = new approach on training, new strategy, new routine, new player rotation, and possibly better coach-player relation and possibly more competent coach.  Even with the same formation, with a different coach, they can apply these same formations effectively.

There is no denying that there is a possibility of scripted gameplay in football, but performing better with a new coach does not support that idea.

Your observation has got a lot of truth in it except for the fact that, what you are insinuating isn’t the case here.

A new manager always comes with new tactics, new style of play and have deserves for certain type of players, players that would fit into his strategy or style of play.
It instantly challenges the players to be at their very best on performance to earn spots in the first 11. Players compete for these kind of things at these times. That’s how you find the team performing way better with the same players under a different management for a while.
Football is far from being scripted, it’s what you put in the game.

It's not a script, it's called strategy. Each coach has a preferred formation and strategy, and in the case of Manchester United, the former coach made serious mistakes by constantly changing formations and players. In many cases, when the team played well, he wouldn't keep the same players and formation in the next game, and as a consequence, they lost points in the following game.

He also didn't seem to maintain good relationships with the players. When you're in a scenario like that, it's certain that the coach will be fired, and another coach who comes in and doesn't make the same mistake will obtain better results.

Which football? Some random highschool football? Yes, probably. A professional and well-known football team like Manchester United? No. Probably not.

In order for a script to work, there have to be a network of people involved.
Statistically, one of them would blab and blow the entire thing sooner or later.

I mean, c'mon, it's a game that relies on grit and stamina, and I think the players won't like a scripted game. If this is your reason for thinking that football might be scripted then I won’t agree with you on this one, if you had talked about fixed match or where players unethically collect bribes to fix matches I would have agreed with you but for the entire thing to be scripted? Nah! That can’t be true.

Coach impacts on a team is huge, a new coach can come and just a little tweaking of previous strategy can lead the team to do better than they have been doing their whole career, so don’t be surprised when a new coach takes over a team and then lead them to victory.
