What happened in yesterday’s AFCON final honestly felt like a scandal to me..

I have no comments on the actions of the referee on whether he was biased to favour one country over the other but it was obvious that certain people who are most likely Moroccans were doing whatever was possible to make the match unbearable for Senegalese players especially the Keeper with the whole towel situation, the truth is that a similar that happened in their match against Nigeria and it got really annoying for the Nigerian keeper who was practically being bullied in the pitch, such conduct should not be allowed in professional match, they shouldn't even be allowed in any kind of match, if any side is going to win then it should happen with all fairness and without any form of cheating.

I didn't watch the match, but in my opinion, the referee's decision should be respected, and sometimes it won't be correct; it can even be questioned, but he should never give in to pressure from the players. Imagine if this started happening in every match? Nowadays, it seems the referee no longer has any authority on the field. Besides the gambling, it detracts from the fun and excitement of watching the matches.

As a bettor, just be prepared for anything. It might not be AFCON, it can be on any league or tournament. There have been matches that I have bet on before which I was winning but it was cancelled before 90 minutes. That is the worst that I have seen before and I think it has happened to me more than 3 times before. So the match between Morocco and Senegal was still better.

You are right, if you are betting on football just know that the unexpected can happen and sometimes we might think that these officials are being paid to cause certain distractions in the game but we must understand that they might just be making mistakes and bad decisions. You can be close to winning a bet and the next minute VAR is going to end up ruining it when the goal is cancelled. Football cannot be totally predictable

I’m not even debating who deserved to win. What concerns me is how chaos in a match like this can affect live betting and make it a worse night for others (the heart of live betting is watching and playing at the same time; it’s a pure pleasure)

Conditions like this will always happen and I think regardless of claims whether there is cheating or not then it goes back to their respective assessments because when there is no recognition or even strong evidence in the end this will only be an accusation that will not have a strong basis and things like this in any sport often occur and always become endless debates.

As for when it is linked to the bets we make in the end it can be one of the risks and we must bear it. Betting will not care whether the game is rigged or not because what is already in the odds then that is a benchmark for us to choose and wait for the results of the bets we make will go well or not.

Tbh, I won't blame the Senegal team for attempting to walk off. I think they saw how the Morocco vs Nigeria game was poorly officiated in favor of Morocco. They didn't want such fate to fall upon them so they attempted to take matters into their hands. Imo, if the game was played fair and square from the onset, I doubt Morocco will make it that far along in the afcon without those decisions that went in their favour that shouldn't in the first place.

From what I watched, Senegal’s players didn’t accept the referee’s decision, walked off the pitch, came back, then left again, and only returned once it was clear the penalty would stand. After that, the goalkeeper seemed to add fuel to the situation, and things got even more chaotic. I also saw some supporters trying to get closer to the pitch, which could have turned really ugly… luckily, the organizers were ready and managed to keep order (In football, such things need to stop, and FIFA has to punish all who dont comply with the rules, even big teams and players, because if this continues, no one will keep watching it)

Every game is unpredictable and by unpredictable I would say that it ranges from a result that can change totally from one moment to next... sometimes in stoppage time or a suspension of player that changes the entire dynamic of the game... these are the technical factors.

But, on the same time I always remember that there is other factors that are completely outside of what is "normal"... like a power outage that leave the entire stadium in the dark or a storm that causes the game to be interrupted or a pitch invasion or even this scenario that I had never seen before.

Anyway... I've seen each betting site handle situations like this differently and in the worst case scenario, your money is held until a decision is made... it is bad, I know, but we need to be prepared.

Well, there haven’t being a question on how poorly officiated the entire AFCON has being, it just shows how far behind Africa is on the matter and how much improvements that needs to be made on the part of referees.

However, Senegal out to know better of football today, the referees decision would still stand and football rules would always govern the day. They could always make their arguments without having to ruin the tournament for all the fans in the stadium and at home to not enjoy the game. Fans deserve that at least and one thing be known, titles do get stripped.
