Yesterday, the CBF held a vote that directly affects the Brazilian championships. Clubs voted to gradually reduce the number of foreign players in matches of the Série A (Brasileirão) and Série B championships. Now, the rule is that there can be up to eight foreign players in each match. This will take effect next year and will decrease by one each year until 2030, when it will reach a limit of five players. This aims to curb the number of foreign players in the championship. I am just getting here now... missed follow a lot of posts in this thread, and Ineed to comment about this, even though it is "almost old news".... I am also in favor about this decision, but I do not know if only imposing a "strict limit" is really a good thing... the question is: will this actually produce more playing minutes and professional development for young local talents or just change the names at the team sheet? What is the point of reducing the number of foreign players if they will still be preferred as starters in a game? I think there would need to be some form of incentive for clubs that invest more in local players, that actually put them on the field, then it would have more effect.

I still think it's an incentive. Instead of having something like 8 foreigners and 3 Brazilians, we'll have a maximum of 5 foreigners and 6 Brazilians. That's 3 more Brazilians to play. If the team doesn't have good players, it won't look outside anymore; it will look in its own youth system, in the youth system of another team, or in the league it's in, whether it's A or B. For me, it's a step forward so that we can have more talent being discovered.

And the Brasileirão (ex-Betano) is back! Did Corinthians take advantage of the moment to get the team in order and start winning again? Will they move up the table? Here, I am excited for the next Gre-Nal, I am almost certain Internacional will win agains Grêmio (contrary the historical data), but this time I am going to do something I always avoid: bet on a game involving my team... I am going to place some bets in favor of Internacional, I am confident!

With the international break making way for national team matches, I ended up forgetting to post here about the two games that took place a few days ago but here I am posting now. I’ll start with this match: São Paulo 1 – 2 SantosSão Paulo started the game very well; for the first three minutes, they pressured the Santos defense, though without creating any major threats. However, when Santos got on the ball and created their first real danger for the São Paulo defense, they came very close to scoring the opening goal. That was a clear difference between the two teams: on one side, São Paulo lacked attackers who could pose a serious threat, despite having plenty of good opportunities; on the other, Santos managed to create significant danger with very few chances. Then came the penalty in São Paulo's favor—a very unnecessary penalty, in my opinion. The Santos player was falling and grabbed the São Paulo player; as a result, both players went down. VAR was consulted and confirmed the penalty—something the Santos player could have easily avoided. Yet, it is incredible that just two minutes after conceding a goal, Santos managed to score an equalizer. The São Paulo fans' joy lasted only two minutes, and to make matters worse, São Paulo conceded a second goal and lost the match. With this victory, Santos moves into 8th place, boasting a seven-game unbeaten streak and four consecutive wins. Santos is on the right track; they are far from the relegation zone and are contending for much better positions. Atlético Mineiro 1 - 0 Red Bull Bragantino
Atlético Mineiro was playing at home; they had suffered only one defeat in their last four matches, whereas Bragantino had not won a single game in their last four. Given this scenario, it was hard to imagine Bragantino pulling off a win, and unfortunately, they lost again extending their winless streak to five games. They currently sit in 10th place and are at high risk of dropping further down the table. I don't know what is going on with them, but things likely won't go well for many teams in the upcoming rounds due to the changes regarding betting in Brazil.

To add more drama to Corinthians' situation, coach Fernando Diniz was fired after this defeat to Internacional. They lost the Libertadores Cup, they lost the Copa do Brasil, and they are close to relegation. Diniz's numbers were terrible: 33 games, 13 wins, 8 draws, 12 losses, 28 goals conceded. A 47% success rate.

Internacional scored the opening goal in the very first minute a truly shocking turn of events, given that Corinthians needed a win and couldn't afford to concede so early. Twenty minutes later, a defensive error by a Corinthians player nearly led to a second goal. Then came the shots hitting the woodwork: first, a Corinthians player struck the right post, followed by another shot that hit the left post; then came the worst part: How did Memphis Depay miss a goal in that situation? For a guy who played in Europe, he should at least be showing good form and not making mistakes like that. After Corinthians squandered several good chances, Internacional scored their second goal; however, Corinthians finally managed to score one themselves. Corinthians' problem lies in both their defense and an attack that lacks efficiency; it was very clear in this match that they had far more good opportunities, and had they been more clinical, they could have scored plenty of goals and won the game.

And to be honest, I really like Fernando Diniz’s work In Corinthians’ case, I think he lacked the players he needed to put together a proper team I like the way he sets up his teams, he doesn’t play defensively Corinthians’ roster was very limited because of FIFA’s transfer ban It doesn’t make much sense for Corinthians to have Memphis Depay, who costs the team a fortune, while other positions remain unbalanced This is going to be yet another year that Corinthians has wasted

It is as if a spell has been cast on Corinthians. They really needed to secure at least one point against Internacional. After all, it was a "six-pointer"—a crucial match—since Internacional is also a team fighting to avoid relegation. As far as I recall, Corinthians has been relegated once before. If they continue like this, they will face the threat of relegation once again. The remaining nine matches are vital for Corinthians; they have no other objective left this season than simply avoiding relegation.

He's always coming up with wild ideas and trying to play the mad scientist with this whole 'Dinizismo' thing. Combine that absurdity with the current Corinthians team, which is already struggling big time, and you've got the perfect recipe for failure.

Santos 2 - 2 Flamengo
They scored two goals in the first half alone, and I was convinced they had already won the match; to my shock, however, they conceded two goals. I was following the game though I didn't watch it live so afterwards, I was very curious to know what went wrong and why they failed to win. I watched the highlights, and to my surprise, Flamengo could easily have come away with a victory; it is incredible that they squandered so many good opportunities to score multiple goals. The Flamengo players were likely overconfident, assuming it would be an easy win since the opponent wasn't posing much of a threat and Neymar was on the bench. But once he came onto the pitch, Santos started playing well. There were two unnecessary penalties, and the way Neymar converted both of them demonstrates his high level of skill.
Upcoming matches:
Vasco da Gama - Remo
I’m thinking about including Vasco da Gama in my parlay; the odds are @1.30, which looks like good value. Vasco is playing at home, has only lost once in their last five games, and is on a three-game winning streak. Meanwhile, their opponent hasn't won any of their last five matches and is currently in the relegation zone. However, I’m really unsure about which other game to add alongside Vasco da Gama.
Palmeiras - Corinthians
This is the match I’m debating adding to my parlay with Vasco da Gama. Palmeiras has odds of @1.59 to win and is also playing at home. Their last five games weren't great, but they weren't bad either; they haven't lost, though they did record three draws. That’s where the problem lies: with three draws in their last five games, there’s a risk Palmeiras could slip up and draw again. I know they scored one goal in their last match against Bahia, but scoring just one goal shows their attack isn't quite clicking yet. Palmeiras has only scored three goals in their last four games. If I combined Palmeiras and Vasco da Gama to win in a parlay, the total odds would be @2.07. But the Palmeiras game is risky.

I totally agree with the part about the curse, hehe But I disagree a little with the idea that it takes too long for the coach to get fired Corinthians has changed coaches many times recently In the last two years, they were: • António Oliveira (2024) • Ramón Díaz (2024–2025) • Dorival Júnior (2025–2026) • Fernando Diniz (2026) Something tells me the problem isn’t the coach, it’s more serious than that They need good players on the roster for certain positions that are struggling, especially a striker like Yuri Alberto They’re paying too much for Memphis Depay, which has limited their resources for a more complete team

They can switch managers endless times and the problems will still keep happening. The only solution is to clean up the club and manage it with a long-term mindset, just like Flamengo did in the last decade. They put up with a bad squad, consistently stuck in mid-table, all to wipe out their debts. Once things stabilized and they got the club organized, they started spending again and now they're reaping the rewards. Bottom line, that's what it comes down to: management.

Just read this news: Clarence Seedorf becomes new head coach at Corinthians until the end of 2027.
New chapter at Timão for the man who won the Champions League with three different clubs as a player
source: https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2109285093999034368Clarence Seedorf's coaching career: 1 - AC Milan = Serie A ( the Italian league ), a league completely different from the Brasileirão. 2 - Shenzhen FC = A team in the Chinese league, a league completely different from the Brasileirão. 3 - Deportivo de La Coruña = A team in the Spanish league; if memory serves, when he was the coach, the team wasn't in the first division (La Liga) a league completely different from the Brasileirão. I learned via the CazéTV Instagram page that before Corinthians' management contacted Seedorf, they had approached several other coaches who declined the job; these names include Sylvinho, Ramón Díaz, Beccacece and Carille. I believe those coaches turned down the job because the squad itself isn't good; they saw the risk involved in taking over a weak team on a long winless streak, which could tarnish their reputations. What I don't understand, though, is why they didn't look for proven Portuguese coaches that way, there wouldn't be a major language barrier. How many Corinthians players will actually understand what Seedorf is saying? If this were before the season started, I wouldn't see a problem, as Seedorf would have had time to thoroughly research the Brasileirão and the players. But right now, with the team in such a dire situation, does it make sense to hire a coach who doesn't speak Portuguese? Perhaps he speaks Spanish, which would make it easier to get used to Portuguese and pick things up. Honestly, I think this hiring is a very risky move. But I took the opportunity: Good odds at @ 1.63. Even though Palmeiras hasn't had a great attack lately and has been inconsistent, they are playing at home against a weak opponent that will be without a head coach or if they do have one, it will be Seedorf, who doesn't know the Brasileirão very well yet. So, I see Palmeiras winning the match; that’s why I bet on them to win.

source: https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2109285093999034368Clarence Seedorf's coaching career: 1 - AC Milan = Serie A ( the Italian league ), a league completely different from the Brasileirão. But I took the opportunity: I believe this was a surprise for every Brazilian. He's been a free agent since 2019, so I don't know how competent he is as a coach, because as a player he's impeccable. And from what I saw in the statement from the company that manages Seedorf's career, they didn't include a bonus for staying in Serie A. There are only bonuses for achievements and qualifications, without mentioning the risk of relegation to Serie B. Let's see how he does.

Palmeiras 4 - 1 Corinthians I don't know why the bookmakers were offering such high odds for Palmeiras, but I couldn't pass up that chance to make a profit. Sure enough, Palmeiras won—in a match where the Corinthians players seemed to have zero motivation. It doesn't even look like they get paid a salary or realize that being a player is a good job where they ought to do their work well; they even scored an own goal. Now, with this loss, they’re on an eight-game losing streak. They’re getting a new head coach who is very inexperienced in the Brasileirão; honestly, I just see disaster ahead for the club this season. But I’m happy I walked away with a profit. Milan = 22 matches, 9 losses, 2 draws, 11 wins Shenzhen FC = 14 matches, 6 losses, 4 draws, 4 wins Deportivo La Coruña = 13 matches, 4 losses, 5 draws, 4 wins That was the performance record of Corinthians' new manager at the teams he previously coached. You don't need to be a major football expert to predict that his stint as Corinthians manager will be a total disaster. I have no idea what is going through the minds of the Corinthians board.

I am just getting here now... missed follow a lot of posts in this thread, and Ineed to comment about this, even though it is "almost old news"....
I think nothing is too late in the world of football, especially in the Brazilian Serie A competition league. For October 13/tomorrow there are matches the bookies put good odds on several matches such as Coritiba vs. Botafogo, both teams have strengths and weaknesses at odds of 02.00 x 2.65. I think it is worth considering the score predictions for these two teams, if you want. Likewise, on the same day, the match between Chapecoense vs. CA Paranaense bookie also offers good odds for the team, matches for betting Statistics and Head-to-head score predictions in the Brazilian Serie A also have good odds, if you wish. And the same day the third match between Red Bull Bragantino vs. Cruzeiro bookie also offers odds of 2.09 x 3.30, in essence anyone has the opportunity and opportunity to place a bet, there is no missing a football match in the Brazilian Serie A competition league, which always gives bettors the best choices and has a good chance of winning.

The problem is management, debt, and terrible signings that ultimately impact the sporting side of the Corinthians machine. I agree... the core of the problem is structural and financial, but I think the problem is not just management, there are many sporting and planning failures too, poor squad choices, anyway... I think at least they got it right by start to changes with coach replacement, many changes start there and that alone should already help improve the players’ mood. About spending less... are not they already doing that? This year they have already prioritized free agents or loans because they did not have much money, so the problem is not "buying badly", it is not being able to sell well, renew contracts properly, plan cycles... they need to replace the top board and let the coach do his job. If it does not work out... let them go to the second division, spend less, restructure and come back stronger. I think Internacional needs this too. Its sad!!!

I hope things work out really well with Seedorf He has experience, has played a lot of soccer, and it could definitely work out But...My opinion is that Corinthians spends too much on things it should spread out to spend more wisely His salary will be R$1.7 million per month Wouldn’t it be better to hire a cheaper coach while they quickly settle their debts so they can sign players for next season and have a more balanced team? Even if it means putting the boys from the youth teams on the field these signings and such expensive salaries don’t make much sense to me when the team is doing so poorly
