One thing humans will always have is hope as long as they think the possibility of something happening is true, they don't really care much if the probability itself is low. It's the same way I've always approached my gambling hobby. I might not be the biggest winner yet bytut I have the belief and hope that a day will come when stars will align; Luck will align with my analysis skills and it would be on a day I am well sized in on my bet.

I seriously doubt that I’m actually making any money from betting. At the beginning, I made a lot of mistakes and lost, then things improved a bit, and I simply set a goal for myself to at least get back to my starting point. As for actually earning money from gambling, honestly I don’t even think about that right now. I just understand that I can play and treat it as entertainment, but definitely not as a source of income.

Totally right, most gamblers do have high hope that they will surely win from gambling and to some, it does work for them and to some it doesn't and this has make a lot gamblers to be addicted in gambling. That is why in order to prevent addiction, one needs to take everything slowly, but shouldn't always depend that their hope will work for them at all times, sometimes they should learn to give themselves break, as this will also make them to win and might be able to recover their losses. But no matter anything they should set limits to their gambling and always practice healthy lifestyle gambling.

I can't really remember the exact year I started betting on sports to figure out how long I have been betting on sports but what I can tell you is that I have been betting for more than 10 years.

I can't share how much I have spent on gambling, because I didn't keep track record of the money I spent on gambling. Even without being successful in gambling, I am not giving up, because I am gambling for fun.

I don't agree with your first line of sentence, hoping to win in gambling is not an illusion but rather what you can consider as an illusion is hoping to become rich through gambling or taking gambling as a source of income. The reason I keep playing gamble it's because I'm hoping to win in gambling and I have been winning and at same time making loss too so if I don't hope to win what then I'm playing or gambling for perhaps that would be for fun since I don't hope on winning in gambling which I don't believe it to be fun to me.

And this is the mindset that every gambler should maintain, if gambling is not considered a source of income but as entertainment, and if you maintain control and limit it to this, the chances of addiction will be greatly reduced. People become addicted only because of excessive play, excessive expectations increase their play, but if you control these things, the situation is not likely to get out of control. Because many responsible gamblers never become addicted, that is why control is the main thing and expectations should be kept in entertainment, expecting financial success will definitely harm it.

It's good that you are doing it on an entertainment basis rather than a source of income, because after all it's better to do it with the aim of just having fun rather than fixating on making it a source of income.

Actually in my opinion in sports betting or not aiming for profit should not be emphasized because in gambling we only have a high chance of losing and with a low chance of winning, therefore aiming for profit in gambling is not recommended.

If not that gambling is a means of entertainment and you only gamble with what you can afford to lose, I'd have said there's no need of gambling because it's a waste of funds and time but there's this feelings you get whenever, you want to place your bet especially, when you know that you still have the chance of making money while having fun.

I do everything. I spend more time analyzing the data, but my luck is still far from me. I don't know why, but I accept the reality. So, instead of aiming for a profit, I forget about it. I rather think this is just an entertainment, so I gamble calmly and with less pressure.

I understand that gambling is not meant for everyone. What I mean is that not all are lucky enough to make money here. Of course, we win, but we lose more. I know there are successful gamblers out there, but we admit the reality that there are a lot of unsuccessful gamblers.

Well, I hope that someone will always understand the point am trying to make about this hope thing to win big in the future. First of, having hope to win big in the future does not mean that you are going to start gambling compulsively, it does not also mean that you should chasing losses.

Having hope to win big in the future should still be handled as if you are only gambling for entertainment, don't pressure yourself, don't risk too much, don't put all your expectations in it and don't waste useful time gambling, be extremely calm, gamble only when you are very free and when you have the urge to, by so doing, you have won't be risking too much and you will not be affected like someone who is gambling as if their entire life and hope depends on that winning.

Whether I'm being hopeful to win big in the future, it doesn't stop me from chasing other source of income and career that will make be wealthier in the future, and even if I don't still win in big amount in gambling, I will not feel affected in any way because the money I must have lost, were just small amount.

Hope does not entrap people, rather people entrap themselves but putting all their 80% hope on gambling, while 10% hope on ponzi schemes and then 10% on legitimate things.

You might not be making money but somebody somewhere is luckily making profit which service some of their needs,  if you can not stop gambling, then always risk the amount you can afford to lose. I'm not always lucky too and I made mistakes too when I newly started gambling but each time I get lucky, it always feels good. However, I can never take gambling as a source of income.
