do you own a house? in a time where it seems like it is almost impossible to own a house unless you are earning huge amounts i notice that young people often go for apartments instead of actually owning land and a house

can a middle class citizen still afford to buy a house or do they really have to earn ridiculous amount of money in order to buy one?

The reason why they go for apartments is pretty clear, and you said it yourself. The real estate sector has become one of the most profitable ventures for investors, which means that those who want to buy land will have to pay quite a lot of money to do that only, and then if you wish to build a house on it, you will need to have another very high amount to successfully do that. Unless you are making way more money than you need for the basic necessities and you get to save good enough each month, you can't buy or own a house these days, even for someone who earns good, it is still going to take some time for them to save enough for it.

Those who are employed and work for others, for them to own a house is like a dream they wish for to come true some day, because even if you are not poor, you can only buy an apartment after saving money for years. So it's basically mainly those who own businesses who can easily afford to buy or build a house for themselves, other than that, maybe someone wins a lottery or makes a lot of money from something similar like gambling, etc. Then they might be able to do it, otherwise, it's too difficult.

The cost of buying land and the increasing cost of building materials looks like an unachievable dream for many low income earners, many even find it difficult to pay high rents, survival in cities is very tough. If you are not rich you cannot afford to live in your own house in the cities unless you move to developing areas where there is no much development and traffic. The problem with living in small towns and villages is that it is difficult to make money in such places due to lack of urban development, factories and offices. If you cannot afford to build a house in the city you can save and build in your village where you will live when you retire from active work in the city.

If we look at the current economic situation, a lot of money is needed to buy a house at this time, and it is never possible for a middle-class person to buy land and build a house with the amount of earning a middle-class person earns throughout the month or year and the money left over after deducting all the expenses for the month or year. At present, a middle-class person cannot expect anything more than to manage his family with the earning he earns. Inflation is increasing over time, and if inflation does not decrease, the bad condition of the common people will continue to increase and will not decrease.

How long has the middle class citizen been working for, what is the citizens spending like and do they save.
Also is the house in the urban area that the price of buying a house is high.
Why people don’t buy a house is that they can’t afford the house in their desired area and even though renting an apartment is also expensive they can still afford it and some apartments allows sharing of rent.

So we built a system where the primary method of wealth accumulation is to own property. And then we're shocked when property becomes unaffordable.

About real estate being profitable for investors - that profit comes from somewhere. It's coming from people that need places to live paying larger and larger chunks of their income to people that already own property. We've normalized this as just way things work. But it's worth sitting with how weird that actually is.

Shelter is a basic need. And we've financialized it so much that to meet that need we have to have generational wealth, extreme income, or have to be able to save for decades. Those are your options.

There's this class thing going on in what you're describing that maybe you's not naming there. Business owners can afford to have houses. Employees can maybe afford apartments after years. We continue to reduce this to a question of efforts because efforts are what we can control. Or at least pretend to be in control. And that is safer than admitting the real machinery underneath all of this was never calibrated for most of us to win. Distribution selected you before you selected your career.

The person employed by the business owner is creating value. But the structure guarantees that most of that value flows upwards. Then we tell them to save better and they can own property too. How? The math does not work unless wages go up or property values go down. And we've built an entire economic system which depends on not having either of those things happen.

To me, the way we talk about housing affordability is insane. We all know collectively the system is broken, we all see the numbers, we all know that wages don't match prices. And yet every single conversation yet to ends with "so anyway, here's how to save better".

Having a house in this time and age is a huge asset and achievement that's because of expensive it is to build or buy a house now. if you are in the middle class buying a house that's not even up to a three bedroom flat would cost a lot of money but this all depends on the location. if you are not able to do this at a particular phase of life then you should wait patiently until you are financially stable enough.A lotof people start up building projects that they are unable to finish because they refused to be patient
.
But when you prepared well as the middle class it will be easy for you to build any kind of house you want,  but I noticed that majority of middle class investors prefer to invest their funds in a commercial house because it will be bringing funds into their account monthly or yearly not to suffer for anything in the future, there is no land or house that will not cost funds, but if you are ready to own a house this year,  you will definitely own a house by start gathering some funds that will make your dreams to come to reality, I think there are some who will not be patient while there are some that will be patient to save enough funds before they can start buying houses.

can a middle class citizen still afford to buy a house or do they really have to earn ridiculous amount of money in order to buy one?
Two years ago, I successfully purchased a modest house in an urban area, and at the end of last year, I also recently purchased a 700-square-meter plot of land at a relatively affordable price, as it's located in a village, though not too far from the city. This means that anyone willing to strive for it for themselves will certainly find it within their own lives, even if they need a steady income each month, without needing to have a substantial amount. So, everything is still within reach as long as we continue to strive to earn income, and one day, we will have the house or land we've always desired.

Surely owning a house is still very possible for the middleclass people, but it usually takes patience and some realistic choices, Because not everyone can afford a big house in the city, so starting small or buying land a bit outside the city makes more sense. A steady income, planning and willingness to adjust expectations matter more than earning a huge amount of money.

You wouldn't blame the guys who are going for rented apartment instead of owing a house. You should know that economic inflation is making life miserable for many young men out there, but since the hardship makes them not to afford building a house doesn't mean that they can't Also afford renting an apartment. What we should understand in life is that we can only do things according to our capacity. So if our capacity doesn't permit us to build house then it will definitely permit us to rent house.

can a middle class citizen still afford to buy a house or do they really have to earn ridiculous amount of money in order to buy one?
A middle class person can own a house but not under must to buy. Buying house may look way more expensive than building it gradually. Sometimes when we overthink about the way we want some things to be then it may affect us. I will advice that a middle class person who doesn't earn that much should try as much as possible to build house gradually till it is accomplished. I am a working class and my money is not much but I have build a small house because I do it gradually whenever money comes. We must not expect to have huge amount before building a house. That is all I can say for now.

I will not tell you if I own one or not but my place has a tradition to accommodate your siblings and some part of your family. This is tradition that I met some of my elders and that is what I have in mind as well. Basically, renting an apartment can't contain my plans and here, it's easy to build a house here than rent an apartment where you will have to keep paying yearly when you can channel that money into another investment and get peace of mind.

If you can build your own house to your taste I think you have solve more than 40% of your life problems, you may worry about future maintenence but if you build house that is not substandard, it will take years before you worry about maintenance and the cost might even be less. It's up to you to decide if you want to have a house or you want an apartment.

As long as the commute won't be that long from your house to your work then that's fine or from your house to the city. But if it's more affordable to buy a house outside the city and you'll have a car to ride on for buying your needs, that's what those people decided to live outside the city for lesser cost of living and cheaper house. Because there are opportunities now that are remote and so, if the possibility is there, they'll choose a cheaper house outside the city center.

All of what you persons are saying isn't opened to the middle class earner who depends just on salary to survive with family. Except you're not building a modern house then perhaps you can build something just to get a roof over your head. Aside that, building a house now in my country is quite expensive and requires significant funds that the average salary earner can't save even for th next 10 years to have huge amounts to build a modern three bedroom apartment. The cost of building materials are just too high and not to talk about purchasing the piece of land where it seats. Moving to the rural and growing town could be ameliorating than living in the city right now as a salary earner with family.

I hate to admit it but buying house these days is highly expensive due to increasing risk of inflation. If you are a low-paid worker, you will never afford to buy a house or even rent a nice apartment, so you'll end up renting the cheapest one.

Moreover,  even a middle-class man is still struggling to earn a good amount just to afford a house, but he can rent a nice and comfortable apartment and afford providing the basic necessities, but buying a house is another story. Some would even take loans just to place initial payment.

do you own a house? in a time where it seems like it is almost impossible to own a house unless you are earning huge amounts i notice that young people often go for apartments instead of actually owning land and a house

If the house is located in the province and the price per sqm is lower, you can own a house on an installment plan, as long as you are a regular employee. Young people go for apartments because they are not yet established financially

Quote

One of their options is to get a loan from a bank or their company, as long as they are a regular employee, or to get an installment plan, which is exactly what many employees do here in our country.

There are people who doesn't love to start afresh instead they could decide to buy house in well developed area due to their choices and there are people who wouldn't mind the area and location where the land is located they would buy and build to pack inside. Those who were not able to build do buy directly from those who wants to sell or from real Estate companies those who are in charge of selling building. Of course building a house today is likely too expensive and there are people who doesn't mind provided that they are earning higher or little, they wouldn't mind making their savings to be able to buy a land only if they sees building a house as priority for themselves .

It is indeed possible. With multiple jobs and a nice paymentplan, im sure you can own a nice land and house. Just depending on the location ofcourse.... you gotta stay realistic ofcourse

You income determines the kind of house you should be owning or where you should be having a land to erect your building. Most time what it takes is for you have good plans and have good works at hand, if you have not married it would enable to facilitate your building project so quickly unlike those that has already involved themselves into family way which is very hard for them to take care of their family if not for the intervention of God. Thus, if you are a politician it won't be that too difficult to you because in our country they are highly paid.

do you own a house? in a time where it seems like it is almost impossible to own a house unless you are earning huge amounts i notice that young people often go for apartments instead of actually owning land and a house

can a middle class citizen still afford to buy a house or do they really have to earn ridiculous amount of money in order to buy one?
Two years ago, I successfully purchased a modest house in an urban area, and at the end of last year, I also recently purchased a 700-square-meter plot of land at a relatively affordable price, as it's located in a village, though not too far from the city. This means that anyone willing to strive for it for themselves will certainly find it within their own lives, even if they need a steady income each month, without needing to have a substantial amount. So, everything is still within reach as long as we continue to strive to earn income, and one day, we will have the house or land we've always desired.
Many factors influence the ever increasing property values such as inflation, rising land prices, and high interest rates, making it increasingly difficult for middle class citizens to buy a home. But all of that is not an obstacle, as long as you have mature financial planning, such as saving consistently. Buying a house in an urban area may be a bit too difficult for some people because the price is difficult to afford, but other options are also worth considering, such as buying a house in the suburbs which is slightly cheaper or buying a plot of land and then building a house slowly based on your current financial capabilities. I think, nothing is impossible as long as you have the desire, discipline, patience and effort because that is the key to making dreams come true.

It depends because not all young people today can afford to build a house due to the unstable nature of their income. I personally prefer building my own house over buying a pre-built one because in a scenario like this, we can save on construction costs and perhaps even design the model we want. Some friends I know bought pre-built houses, but compared to those who built their own, it's much more economical.

The percentage of the middle class who can afford to build a house may be small, although there's no accurate data available. However, there's currently a government program to build subsidized housing, so many people are taking advantage of this opportunity. Although I don't think it's a good idea as we'll be forced to cover monthly costs during the mortgage period.

I own 1/3 of one house(where I currently live) and 1/4 of another house(but I can't sell that share). I really want to sell those shares and buy my own house, but I will have to get a 9-to-5 job and a mortgage. Maybe the housing market in my country is about to slow down and the prices would drop, but I'm still waiting for this to happen. Young people are lazy nowadays. They don't want to mess around with all the maintenance of a house and the surrounding land. Having an apartment means less work. Renting is also an option, but I would rent an apartment only if the rent is long term and the apartment owner doesn't suddenly decide to kick me out one day.

Middle class person will find it very difficult to buy a house because their income cannot afford one. If they want to, they have to save for some years, unfortunately, inflation will still be a factor that will stand against this. Bitcoin would have been a very good option if the investor have a way of transferring the savings to Bitcoin and is able to hold for sometime during which there is a significant rise in prices. This is the easiest way that iknow of for a middle class to be able to buy a house.
