Being obsessed with something usually ends badly or even disastrously especially when the very thing we’re obsessed with carries significant and certain risks.

I do agree that the people who surround us can be very influential in encouraging us to remain longer in gambling. You can also start spending more time on it without even noticing that your friends gamble regularly and consider this to be a regular part of life. Because naturally people can look at gambling in a bad light, since it is directly related to money.
