This forum is having best way of learning for anyone because from things are never been easy to stay on good if someone needs to do business then firstly he needs to understand consequences never go Strate forward do some search and then have things on practical level many stories and things are happen which were never been expected because many believe they are having better way of taking others money through their strategy. Use the best thing for safety and then start your journey, otherwise it's never been coming back to you, and you will be down and out for trades.

Always escrow, and for other things, always have your own satisfaction because this will increase your safety and also cut the risk of losing, but still never trust. Just stay on alert, and having things under your own control is the best strategy.

This is forum is very perfect, because it is educative and informative. People get to know more about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from this particular forum. Newbies need to learn more and understand the rules, characteristics and other things concerning this forum. Everyone needs to be extra careful to avoid any silly mistakes. Everything is possible this days because it is possible for someone to PM you for business, but he has wrong intentions towards. He might use that to take advantage of you and scam with so much possibility. Greediness and lack of contentment can easily affect some without following any safety precautions.

The trust system of the forum is very strong and very satisfactory, the right users are in that place. They investigate in a good way, and after reaching the end, they provide their feedback.
Newbies are just suppose to be careful, and they should avoid PMs from random people. You talking about trust feedback, you should know that most newbies don’t even know about trust feedback, some of them don’t even know where to check accounts trust feedback, and some accounts might have not been tagged yet, maybe they have not been exposed yet, so it’s just better we avoid PM generally.

Am not against making normal conversations, I don’t think anything is wrong in doing that, but when someone start to introduce you to a platform for investment, or the person is requesting for sensitive informations, then just ignore the user, stop responding to the PM, and if it’s something which you think the public should know about, you can just report the account.

I saw a thread some weeks ago where someone was complaining, that he received a message about investment from someone in this forum.
Most of this old members that are messaging newbies in other to scam them has already been given negative feedback by DT members in this forum, so when you see a PM from old forum members, what you should do is to check their feedback and from there feedback you will know the kind of person they are.
Well I thought there were actually more newbie scammers around . Reason being they have nothing to lose . If they eventually get caught they just disappear and create another account to continue their aims but for higher ranked members it only happens when they already have lost their reputation.

Personally I'll advise newbies to refrain from transactions on the forum till they understand how the forum works and can differentiate scams.
I think I might agree with you @Mia Chloe just pointing out, to me well it good for both old and new members to be careful when dealing in terms of funds, it's very important to keep note of how the cycle of scams runs in the community, in addition a newbie has nothing to lose zero reputation, zero history, if their accounts get tagged or even banned today they can still create a new one to start, that is why some newbies easily get scammed because of pressure of earning quick money, so most of them do some shady deals and get scammed.

For example, to get a Hero/Legendary account which takes 4-5 years to build is worth more than one 200$ scam so this is why I think higher rank members have nothing to lose…

Theres an old saying in real life "Dont talk to stranger" might be good to do that if you are newbie thats the best prevention to scam.

Yeah, this is so true, and anyone who don't belive in this statement is stupid near me. I used to receive many PMs like that, where some were asking for money from me. And I really remember one day a user reached out to me on Telegram to ask about money. I don't know where he got my Telegram ID, but what he said to me, I was surprised to read that.

He said Can you lend me some money, and in return you can take my BitcoinTalk account until i don't return your money back you can have it. The fundamental was so clear to me at that time. Just ignore it, because I literally didn't know him, and if he was a real person who had no intention of scamming, then he would have opened a thread here on BTT directly to ask for money rather than asking off-forum. And surprisingly, he deleted all those PM's when he noticed I ignored him.

Most of this old members that are messaging newbies in other to scam them has already been given negative feedback by DT members in this forum, so when you see a PM from old forum members, what you should do is to check their feedback and from there feedback you will know the kind of person they are.
But I will advise, regardless of their feedback tell them to make it public or forget about it.

And for the DT members if you are giving trust to someone, make sure the member is trustworthy because if they are involved in scamming newbies here, and the newbie says he believed the member was trustworthy because of the trust you gave the member, you too will be held accountable to some extent.
Why will a DT member be held accountable simply because he gave out a trust rating to a user that might have earned it maybe for a job weldone or any tangible reason and later on the user changed or got involved in a negative act?
DT wouldn't be held responsible for anything simply because they gave out ratings to another user and user then commits a crime later.

No matter the rank that sends you a message, always make sure you verify the message and always make sure you trade with extreme caution because people can change because of money and I wouldnt even advise you deal with someone simply because of their green trust ratings because it all ends on the forum and maybe you get to have a deal of $50k with maybe a senior or hero member account with lots of green ratings, there are possibilities that such user can abandon their account and maybe grow a new one and make good use of the $50k for themselves(scam), which is why we just need to be very careful with financial transactions especially online.

I doubt it takes that long to build an account up to that rank, isn’t 2years even so much, it should be a lot less, like 1year and 6 months speculatively though, that depends on how active the user can be and the proficiency in earning merits and getting activities.

Even then, I don’t think anyone that has an account that has gotten to a hero or legendary rank would want to jeopardize such an account in cheap $200 or even $500 scam.

Generally, everyone has to be careful because things can happen sometimes and you fall for there scam. But here, the emphasis is more on newbies, and I understand it. Old members know other members more compared to newbies. So, if there is a possible scam, they would know since they know the profile of some members because they are old. But this is entirely different for a newbie. They just came, and thue know nobody's character or profile activities, so they have to be extraordinary careful to avoid this possible scam.

Normally as a newbie to this forum,  we don't need to trust everyone at once yet. Seeing a higher ranking members or seeing someone receiving merits massively shouldn't convince or deceive us, because give the member a full trust can leads you to regret, being a higher member or being in higher rank doesn't make the person a trustworthy, some people can decide to use higher rank to scamm people or gain trust by taking thier time arranging the account to some certain level and then begins thier dirty works. Normally having a good habit as a newbies is by protecting your actions towards any links or any messages being received privately, the best to do is openly ask your questions and control yourself from any pressure coming from the person. Taki time and verify everything is better than making a big careless mistake that would involve huge losses of funds.

It actually depends on how good the user is in creating and posting very good and educative posts.
If a user is very active and always posting good content, he’s actually going to grow fast and I don’t think it will actually take that long as i early said.

The only reason why people can actually take that long is when they are not actually posting very good content that can earn them merit.

It is not actually because of money, you just need to keep a very good name and integrity for yourself even though your identity is not actually known or discovered.
Like they say a good name is actually better than money.

Did you remain neutral? Let's try to remember when this happened and who it was.
Honestly, anyway, the internet has been a part of our lives for quite some time now. Some of us were even born into it. Why are people still so trusting of those they don't know and can't see? I'd go even further and say: don't even trust what you see, because technology has learned to replicate our loved ones. Healthy skepticism is the best quality we can have in today's world.

This is why it is better for newbies to ignore all strangers but to focus and understand the forum and it environment. When they are used to the forum, they can decide to socialise with whoever they perceive can be close pals.

If you're new to the forum, it's a good idea to first familiarize yourself with it and learn the rules, and spend more time reading.. only after you understand more can you start building interactions with other users. However, you also need to be more selective and respectful, as there are many new users who just randomly DM other members, which can be quite annoying.. only then can you start building some genuine interactions with other members and start becoming a real user.

The important thing is to understand the forum first and not easily believe anything offered by other users.. this will minimize your chances of being scammed by other users.

Scam activities has gone haywire, whereby knowing who is a genuine person is now difficult than a scammer. When it comes to trades, making it public is the safest and best way to handle it, and most times, it is still difficult to know if the person is genuine or not until the transaction is completed.

If a PM is coming from a newbie regarding transactions, it is suspicious and same goes to an older account, the best is to make it open and showcase every activity about the transaction openly for everyone to see.

I simply ignored him; why would I believe him when I did not even know him? And the thing that gave me more negative vibes about him/her was that he was sending me PMs on Telegram, not in BTT (which is a negative thing from my point of view, right?). Like, if he was a genuine person and not a liar, then why didn't he open a thread to ask for a loan publicly? Maybe he was trying to trap me at that time. And he was not actually selling his account to me; he said that you could take my account into your custody until I repay the loan. And, haha, you will be surprised to know that the account he was giving me was not even a full member account, AFAIR! So tell me, could anyone else have trusted such a person by relating all those factors I told you? You will also say "big no".

I wanted to share more information at this moment. But unfortunately, I lost those screenshots that I took at that moment. One more thing that I came to realise after ignoring him/her was that he/she deleted all those messages he/she sent. So, the chances were higher that he/she was a scammer, right?

My Message: Never trust anyone who doesn't disclose any information about him/herself publicly or make a thread in a public view. Secondly, for such kind of users, make sure to take collateral for your own safety.

Other than this, technologies right now are not advanced enough that they can be detected. To catch any wrong/negative moment on social media or digital platforms, you can approach AI forensics to validate the type of content whether it is original or fake (AI-generated).

I saw a thread some weeks ago where someone was complaining, that he received a message about investment from someone in this forum.
Can you share the link of the thread, mate? I assume not all members have been aware of this issue.  Wink

Since it is investment matter, we shouldn't be easy to trust anyone. Especially if they order us to do something suspicious or illogical. Sending certain amount of money to them and sharing with them about our private data of wallets are 2 examples of illogical things. If they order us something like that, just ignore them and report them to meta forum. It is no longer reasonable attitude of old members in this forum.

And for the DT members if you are giving trust to someone, make sure the member is trustworthy because if they are involved in scamming newbies here, and the newbie says he believed the member was trustworthy because of the trust you gave the member, you too will be held accountable to some extent.
DT gives a trust to anyone with a specific reason. So, you need to check the trust in detail. Not all the trust are given because the old members are experts in investment or  trading.

The forum will not be responsible for any deal we are taking on this platform, everyone will be fully responsible for any due with other members he engaged himself with, some are being greedy and this is actually affecting them because couldn't afford to differentiate between a real offer and a fake one, always ignore unsolicited links and offers through PM.

And that’s why it’s crucial to bring any dealing with a stranger public, so the forum can be aware, maybe give you advise on whether it’s a good idea to proceed or whether you’re simply walking yourself into some serious danger. They say no one knows it all, the experience of the next person could help you make better informed decisions, and sometimes it doesn’t matter whether it’s coming from a reputable member, and old or new member, anyone can give you a piece of information that can help you avoid making stupid mistakes.

I agree with you, if you receive any offer through your pm by any member here it is better that you bring it to the public, if it is a genuine and good offer I believe people will know and they will advise you on what to do, but if the offer is not good or genuine people will also advice you that you should leave it.
If you are not sure of something it is better that you bring it out to the public, it is better to be looked down on than to be scammed, some people feel they don't want people to look down on them or think they are not smart that is why they sometimes refused to bring issues like that to the public.

Very true. Because sometimes the reason people end up being scammed is simply because they believe they know it all and people would look down on them if they asked some questions. But the truth is that no one is an island of knowledge, no matter how smart or knowledgeable one is, you’ll always have someone who’s smarter one step ahead of you, and this is the advantage that scammers often have over certain people, they claim to be too knowledgeable to be victimized by scammers only to miss it at a point and actually got scammed, which could have been easily avoided if they had maybe reached out to one or two persons.

It's always important for everyone to have read about basic things on any platform because without having any knowledge, starting a journey has never been ideal for anyone. Things are getting worse due to social media and other online related stuff. People are always ready to enter into your safe zone and make their way to having all the stuff from your side because they have enough tactics to do this. Before having any interaction about anything, be precautious, never give anything that could be harmful for you in the future. This forum has a good system that always keeps things on balance, but still it's easy for scammers to do their activity.
